Hard Reality of IIM Shillong 1 year course.

Faculty: All teachers and study materials used were too old, not new technologies used for teaching. Even study materials need to be updated to keep students upto date from the changing market conditions. No it doesn't make the student industry ready, that's why still students are struggling to get job. Semester exams are too easy to clear.

Satisfied with the life at IIM Shillong.

Faculty: Some of the teachers are very helpful and highly qualified, but that can not be said about the majority. Many faculty members are unable to grasp the attention of students. Minimum of 85% attendance is mandatory in each subject. Each subject has 20 sessions and there are 7-8 subjects taught in a trimester. The 1st year's curriculum can be a bit improvised .

I am satisfied with the college.

Faculty: The course curriculum is fine. Plenty of case studies were given and faculty members expected us to read them and come. The quality of the teachers is good. We also have many visiting faculty members from other premier schools. The course curriculum is relevant and helps the students in their years ahead.

Good place and B-School to spend your 2 years.

Faculty: Each subject had 20 sessions, each session of 1.5 hrs. The teachers were helpful and well qualified. Most of the faculty members gave pre-reads and regular assignments. But not all the faculty members were able to keep the class engaged. There were only few faculty members which were able to impart relevant knowledge in the stipulated time. The second year allows us to opt for electives of our choice. The curriculum is relevant and makes the students industry ready.

IIM Shillong- The Hilly IIM.

Faculty: The faculty is experienced and a lot more interactive. They stay on the campus and are easily approachable, at any hour of the day. Teachers make students believe in themselves and guide them throughout as a mentor and guide. Many new faculty members have joined providing the pedagogy a new flavor and fragrance.

A young B-school quickly growing through the ranks.

Faculty: Some of the professors are excellent teachers while others are excellent researchers. This helps a student to learn from a varying set of professionals. The course curriculum for the first year gives exposure to the various domains with the core courses and projects with hands on experience. For the second year, there is a plethora of courses to choose from as per one's interest with the option of independent study if wanted by the student.

Excellent return on investment.

Faculty: All the current permanent professors along with visiting faculty members are extremely qualified and experience. IIM Shillong follow case-study based pedagogy to facilitate the students and prepare them for their future roles & responsibilities. Each student has to go for internship after the completion of first year to get industry exposure. Also, diversity in terms Work-experience, Gender, Academics etc. Is balanced enough to get excellent peer learning.
