IIM Shillong Hosts “Youth, Managerial Competence and National Growth’’ Key Business Leadership Summit

March 3, 2023: The Business Leadership Summit, with the topic "Youth, Managerial Competence, and National Development," will be held at IIM Shillong on March 4 and 5, 2023. The summit is expected to have a significant influence as it brings together seasoned business executives, entrepreneurs, legislators, and thought leaders to set a new course for the growth of the nation's enterprises and economy.

The institute is aware of how important youth are to the future of the world's economies and industries. The summit will thus include eminent speakers and panels who will share their wealth of knowledge and ideas on how young people can build the managerial skills necessary to spur national prosperity. Dhruv Sharma, a lead economist at the World Bank, and Dhuwarakha Sriram, the chief of Generation Unlimited, Youth Development and Partnerships with UNICEF India, will give the keynote addresses, respectively. Both speakers will discuss how businesses can use the potential of young people to spur innovation and growth.

This year, IIM Shillong is excited to combine the leadership summit with "Learning on the Green Turf," a unique event that includes a corporate leader tournament, panel talks on various facets of management learning, and a discussion on how to collaborate effectively to create an educational experience. IIM Shillong wants to leave a lasting legacy by providing its students with an exceptional learning opportunity while they network, share ideas, and spend time among the "strategists" in the natural spaces.

The summit is organised in partnership with Yuwaah, the India chapter of the Generation Unlimited initiative by UNICEF, aimed at preparing young people for the future of work. The partnership underscores the summit's focus on the critical role that young people play in shaping the future of businesses and economies globally.

IIM Shillong has partnered with Mariott, a leading global hospitality brand, to provide world-class accommodation and hospitality services to the summit participants. Fablabs, a provider of innovative merchandise solutions, has also come on board as a merchandise partner for the event.
