The hostel fee at IIM Shillong varies depending on the type of room you choose and the occupancy. The following are the hostel fees for the academic year 2023-2024:

The hostel fees include the following:

• Accommodation: A well-furnished room with attached bathroom, bed, study table, chair, cupboard, and fan.
• Mess: Three meals a day (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) prepared by a professional chef.
• Laundry: Free laundry service for one set of clothes per day.
• Housekeeping: Daily housekeeping services including cleaning of the room, bathroom, and common areas.
• Security: 24x7 security with CCTV cameras.
• Recreation: Access to the gym, swimming pool, and sports facilities.
• Medical: Access to the medical clinic on campus.

The hostel fees are payable in advance for the entire academic year. The university also charges a one-time security deposit of INR 5,000 for each student.

IIM Shillong process of shortlisting candidates for GDPI is independent of those of other IIMs. IIM Shillong sends an intimation mail to the registered email of the shortlisted candidates. The Candidates are required to fill out the interview form and upload the same on the Admission Portal of IIM Shillong.

IIM Shillong, then sends GD/PI call letters to only those candidates who have filled the interview form correctly. 

IIM Shillong does not send any intimation to those candidates who are not shortlisted, or who haven't filled the interview form correctly within the stipulated time.

Based on the performance of the candidate in GDPI, a merit list for final admission offers is prepared. IIM Shillong also prepares a waitlist, according to the ranks of the candidate, for admission in case any candidate do not accept the admission offer.

Admission to IIM Shillong PGP is done through CAT/GMAT. Domestic candidates seeking admission to IIM Shillong must have a valid CAT score to get shortlisted for the GD-PI round.  IIM Shillong PGP Admission Process starts with the CAT Registration process. The below mentioned category candidates are exempted from appearing for entrance examinations but are required to produce two letter of references from their senior:

• PGP post graduate from IIMs or any other Institute or University featured in the list of Top 50 institutes ranked by NIRF with 6.5 CGPA and minimum 5 years of work experience after post-graduation.

• Candidates with atleast 10 years of managerial work experience.

Candidates seeking admission in PhD Programme of IIM Shillong should have the below-mentioned eligibility:

• Post graduate degree with a minimum of 60% aggregate and a bachelor's degree with atleast 55% aggregate.

Or

• A five year integrated Master's Degree with atleast 55% marks in bachelor's and 60% marks in Master's.

Or

• Professional Qualification such as CA, ICWA, CS with a minimum of 55% aggregate in BCom.

The application fee for PhD at IIM Shillong is INR 3,000. The programme fee structure is mentioned below:

IIM Shillong offers a one-year residential Executive Master of Business Administration (E-MBA) programme called the Post Graduate Programme for Executives (PGPEx). The admission-related details of the programme are given in the table below: 

IIM Shillong also offers a PGP Working Executive (MBA WE) programme designed for professionals to navigate change with new knowledge and business practices while keeping the work-life balance. Candidates can leave the programme after completion of core courses and attain an Executive Program in General Management (EPGM) certificate. Given in the table below are the admission related details of the programme:

MBA Working Executives is two-year programme where live classes are held in online mode. The programme is designed for working professionals. The total programme fee for MBA-WE is INR 12 lakh.

To pursue the course from IIM Shillong, candidate must appear for either CAT, GMAT or WEMAT.

• Based on student category (General or Reserved): While it is tough for a General category average student to grab a seat at IIM due to high score requirements, a reserved category student can get admission being at average scores as well.
• Based on past work experience, diversity and other factors: Gender and academic diversity is also a factor on which students are shortlisted at IIM. IIMs judge the past academic category based on the degree obtained by the students before MBA and then a weightage is allotted based on that. • Performance in selection rounds: Once you make it to the final selection rounds, i.e., AWT/PI process, it can be considered a fresh start.
