NIRF 2024 Rankings are out. As per the latest NIRF 2024 rankings, IIM Shillong ranks #24 under the category 'Management'.

The CAT 2024 result has been declared for IIM Shillong admission to the MBA/PGDM courses. Candidates can log in and download their scorecards on the official website.

A few more updates are given below:

The GATE 2025 admit card for admission to the MTech course will be available for download from Jan 7, 2025. Additionally, the GATE 2025 exam will be conducted on Feb 1, 2, 15, and 16, 2025.
PGPEx 2025 applications are open, and the last date to apply for Round 2 is Jan 25, 2025. Further, the interviews will be held on Feb 8 and Feb 9, 2025, and the results will be declared by Feb 12, 2025.
PGPWE 2025 applications are open and the last date is Jan 25, 2025. Further, the test and interviews will be held on Feb 1 & Feb 2, 2025, and the results will be declared on Feb 15, 2025.
PhD 2025 applications are open for Round 1 and the last date is Jan 28, 2025. Further, the interview process will be scheduled from Feb 14, 2025.
PhD (Working Professionals) 2025 applications are also open and the last date is Mar 24, 2025. Further, the interview of shortlisted candidates will be held on Apr 26 & Apr 27, 2025.

IIM Shillong Fee Structure

IIM Shillong fee structure is cumulative of multiple components, such as tuition fee, hostel fee, medical insurance, mess and other security deposits, etc. Out of all these fee components, there are a few components that are charged one-time by IIM Shillong, while some have to be paid semester-wise, such as tuition fees. IIM Shillong fees further vary depending upon the course or specialisation chosen by the students. Check out the total tuition fee for all IIM Shillong courses in the below table:

The hostel fees include the following:

Accommodation: A well-furnished room with attached bathroom, bed, study table, chair, cupboard, and fan.
Mess: Three meals a day (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) prepared by a professional chef.
Laundry: Free laundry service for one set of clothes per day.
Housekeeping: Daily housekeeping services including cleaning of the room, bathroom, and common areas.
Security: 24x7 security with CCTV cameras.
Recreation: Access to the gym, swimming pool, and sports facilities.
Medical: Access to the medical clinic on campus.

The hostel fees are payable in advance for the entire academic year. The university also charges a one-time security deposit of INR 5,000 for each student.

One of the best colleges and excellent infrastructure available.

Placements: Approximately 85% of students were placed in our college. Many MNCs, IBM, Deloitte, and Solar companies visited and offered the highest salary package of 35 LPA and the lowest salary package of 12 LPA. More than 15% of students got internships in other sectors.

Infrastructure: Excellent infrastructure and facilities are available like Wi-Fi, labs, library, food, medical facilities are available, separate departments are available, sports and games are conducted, and cultural events are included. The mess and canteen are very hygienic. The food is also very decent.

Faculty: Lectures are very helpful for us. They have good qualifications and knowledge. The teaching quality is excellent which makes students industry-ready. Exams are very easy if we read daily can get good scores in the exams.50% marks are required to pass the semester exams.

Placements: At IIM Shillong, students get very good placement opportunities in our course. Around 50-55% of the students get placed at this college. The average package offered at our college was between 5-6 LPA. Students also get internships at this college. Top recruiters at this college are IBM, Accenture, Deloitte, Infosys, Wipro, Walmart, etc., for our course. Top roles offered are programme executive, project manager, HR, relationship manager, etc.

Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure available at IIM Shillong for the PGPM course are very good. The college provides all the modern facilities to its students for their interactive learning and development. The college has a big campus with facilities like Wi-Fi, labs, library, canteen, classrooms, sports ground, etc., for the students. The food in the college canteen is good to eat. Hostel facilities are also of good quality.

Faculty: The faculty of IIM Shillong are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable for our course. The quality of teaching offered at this college is very good. Placements: Our college provides very good placement opportunities. More than 90% of students got placed in top MNCs. The highest salary package offered is 53 LPA.

Infrastructure: The academic buildings are not good. All classrooms and lecture halls are very good. The hostel facility is available on campus.

Faculty: All teachers are dedicated. They organise workshops. Exams are difficult if we don't attend classes regularly.

Other: Our college conducts cultural events that enhance the overall learning environment. Many scholars visit our college.

Hard Reality of IIM Shillong 1 year course.

Placements: Out of 26 students only 14 students got placed by Placement cell, rest 5 got job after many difficulties through outside sources. 6 students are still struggling for getting a job after 5.5 months of course end. The highest Placement India- 20 LPA the highest Placement Outside- 28LPA the lowest placement - 10LPA Top Roles - Sr. Consultant by Cognizant & Accenture.

Infrastructure: Facilities were not upto the mark, no proper infrastructure. Every time internet issues in the campus, no special tools were provided to faculty members for online teaching like good camera, sound system. Out of 1.15 hr session, 20 minutes wasted in connecting to the platform. Canteen food is the worst, rely on outside food if you have money to spend.

Faculty: All teachers and study materials used were too old, not new technologies used for teaching. Even study materials need to be updated to keep students upto date from the changing market conditions. No it doesn't make the student industry ready, that's why still students are struggling to get job. Semester exams are too easy to clear.

Other: I chose this college for the IIM tag but got the reality after entering the college. Nothing best happened to our batch as we were Covid Victim. First of all college need to understand the market needs and remove the "n" no of cultural courses from the curriculum. Cultural courses are just reducing the no of courses and it doesn't give any benefit to the students.

Review of IIM Shillong - Indian Institute of Management.

Placements: Placements were stellar here. From a batch of 197 students, almost 100% of the students got placed in various domains ranging from product management to investment banking to brand manager. Marquee companies like JP Morgan, ITC, Godrej, Microsoft, Google, PepsiCo, Nomura, etc., visited here for placements. The average salary package offered was approximately 18.7 LPA, while the median salary package offered will be 17 LPA. Almost 100% of the students got a summer internship offer through college placements.

Infrastructure: Our campus is spread over 120 acres with access to high-speed internet and smart classrooms and a state-of-the-art library. Hostels are clean and hygienic with all the essential mess and cleaning services. Basketball court, badminton court and TT tables are also available here.

Faculty: Faculty members are best in class here. All the faculty members are top scholars, PhD holders and have extensive corporate experience. Their teaching methodology is based on case studies discussion with special emphasis on the applicability of the knowledge. We regularly have interactive sessions with industry experts to boost our knowledge.

Other: There are many clubs and committees which organise events and extracurricular activities for students. Further, there is a provision of a need-based scholarship. Our campus is located in a serene environment, and the people around it are very cultured.
