Life changing college which taught me to enjoy life.

Placements: From my course, about 70% students get placed while the others leave to opt for higher studies like Ph.D., MBA and some appear in UPSC examinations. The highest package offered in my branch is 62 LPA and average package offered is 18 LPA. Top recruiters are IOCL, Deloitte, etc. As I am a first year’s student, I have no idea about internships.

Infrastructure: Facilities like lab, library for each department, good and experienced faculty, Wi-Fi, and LAN are provided by the college. Hostel rooms are very large which are enough to accommodate 3 students. Facilities like RO drinking water, washing machines, quality food, special dinners, hospital, sports complex, football and cricket ground, badminton, table tennis, squash, lawn tennis, basketball, along with a volleyball court are provided by the college. 24 hrs electricity is available.

Faculty: The professors are very helpful, they help us in every possible manner. All the teachers are experienced, and mostly pass outs from IITs having completed their Ph.Ds. Difficulty level of IIT’s papers is very tough. If anyone cheats during the examination, proper action is taken. Passing percentage is 40 percent. The course makes the students industry ready and for IT jobs.

Other: According to my rank, IIT Patna provided a good choice of branches. I was interested in studying Chemistry so I chose this course. Fest like Anwesha cultural fest, Infinito sports fest, and Celesta tech fest are organized in the college. About 4000 students live in the college from all the courses. Connectivity to the main city is also good. Campus provides bus facilities to the main city. Railways and airport are also nearby.

A good second gen IIT amongst all.

Placements: This is one of the best aspects of the college; even being a 2nd-gen IIT, the placements are on par with the 1st-gen/holder IITs. There are various domestic and international recruiters, such as Samsung, Google, Amazon, etc. A handsome number of students grab internships in the third year itself.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure is pretty good, and the campus expands into a large 500+-acre area comprised of greenery and vibrant architecture. Although it is still under construction, the newly completed lecture hall and other buildings are too good. The hostels are also renovated and in well-maintained conditions, although you may experience a lack of equipment like washing machines, etc., which I think will be fixed soon.

Faculty: The professors and faculty members are very well qualified and highly experienced. We have two groups of around 350 students per group. The tutor-student ratio is 1:25, so doubts can be cleared easily after the classes. The examinations are scorable if you have put in the effort properly.

Campus life at IIT Patna .

Placements: I do not know the exact data as the institute does not publish it, here is what I know based on college chatter. Almost all students who SAT for placements were placed. Many had to take somewhat low packages because of recession. The highest on campus package is 55 Lacs, offered to 6 or 7 students. Top companies are Atlacian, DeShaw, etc.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure is well maintained. Wi-fi is present in almost every student hub, with plans to put it everywhere. Classrooms are well-equipped with the latest equipments like projectors, ACs, etc. The library is beautiful with amazing decor and great selection of books. As for hostels, they are maintained as well, at least Aryabhatta where I have stayed for the past two years. Mess food is okay, can be a lot. There is a medical that is well-equipped for first aid and minor operations, with an ambulance ready to take to a multispecialty hospital. The sports arena is also well-equipped. The lighting could be better though, as it gets difficult to play in the evening.

Faculty: The teachers are very qualified, although the same cannot be said about their teaching skills. While some are great, some are bad at the teaching. And worse the teacher is, the harder they set the exam paper. As for relevance of curriculum, I am not well-equipped to answers that at the moment. The semester exam is pretty difficult. Even then, almost everyone passes because of relatively grading.

Other: The campus life is amazing. That is one of the most redeeming quality of the college. There are many fests and events the year to keep you busy. The crowd is helpful. There are many clubs that help students.

Placements: More than 85% of students got placed in our college. The highest salary package offered is 1.1 CPA. The average salary package offered is 13 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 6 LPA. Google, Amazon, Atlassian, Oracle, DE Shaw, Zomato, Paytm, Samsung, Oyo, Rippling, Edfora, etc., visit our college. Around 20% of students got internships in Google, Adobe, Uber, Amazon, Samsung, Indeed, etc. Top roles offered are software developer, product analyst, data scientist, GET, etc.

Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is good. Its speed is sufficient for study purposes. Labs and classrooms have good infrastructure. They are very large. We have 2 libraries. One library is under construction. It is very huge. The quality of the food in the mess is not good. Medical facilities are available in our college. Our college has a good relationship with many private hospitals. Sports facilities are good. The campus has many courts for each sport.

Faculty: Professors are highly qualified. They are Ph.D. holders. They are from premium institutes of the world. The teaching quality is average. You have to study on your own. All courses are not relevant.

Other: Events and fests are organised regularly in our college. They are held well.

Satisfied with the faculty in our college, placement is quite good, and infrastructure is good.

Placements: About 80–85 percent are offered, and the rest do higher education. This year, 1.6 crores was the highest package and the average package was around 20 lacs per annum. The top recruiting companies are BPCL, Qualcomm, and Amazon. I am not sure about how many internships we got at our college. Product managers are like those offered in our courses .

Infrastructure: Infrastructure is average overall on the whole campus. We have a temporary library but a permanent library is under construction. It is a 5-story building and its design is very good. Almost all buildings have Wi-Fi access. Classrooms are very big and smart, as is the lecture hall. In our hostel, the LAN and three study tables are provided with chairs. Medical medicine is also available, as is ambulances. Sports include almost all sports.

Faculty: All teachers are highly qualified and knowledgeable. Some teachers have very good teaching skills, and some do not, since teaching and having knowledge are different things. The course curriculum is relevant and makes students industry-ready. Exam difficulty is like medium-hard; an average student can also score average marks in an exam.

Other: I chose this because I opted for it according to my JEE Advanced rank. Things can improve, like the library, which is still under construction and messes up food quality. Events and fests are well organized, such as Anwesha, which is our college's largest fest.
