NTA has announced the JEE Main exam date 2025 session 1 and 2. The first session exam will be conducted on January 22, 23, 24, 28 and 29, 2025 (Paper 1), and January 30, 2025 (Paper 2). As per the IIT Ropar JAM Cutoff 2024 Round 2 Cutoff, the most competitive course was M.Sc in Mathematics. The Cutoff rank for M.Sc in Mathematics was 432, for the General AI Category candidates. 

If not eligible for IIT Ropar, candidates can opt for IIT Indore with a linient cutoff of 337 for M.Sc in Mathematics. 

The foundation stone for the permanent IIT Ropar permanent campus was laid in 2009, but it was in June 2019, that IIT Ropar completely shifted to its permanent campus located in Rupnagar, Punjab. In the past, IIT Ropar operated from two transit campuses located in Ropar itself. The permanent campus is spread over 525 acres and is well-equipped with numerous on-campus facilities.

IIT Ropar provides modern amenities with state-of-the-art infrastructure to its students. The institute is spread over an area of 501 acres. The campus has academic, residential, sports, training and career development, and transportation. Additionally, the Indian Institute of Technology Ropar has a medical center that has a dedicated team of medical and paramedical staff. Students requiring immediate yet basic medical attention can be directed to the medical center. The institute also has four hostel accommodations, three for boys and one for girls to house a total of 2,500 students

The total tuition fee of the BTech programme is INR 8 Lacs at IIT Ropar. Average package of BTech students after the completion of the BTech course was INR 20.99 LPA in placement 2023. The placement rate was 82.21% for the BTech programme. Considering the total tuition fee, placement percentage and the package secured this seems to be a good return on the investment. The exact schedule for JEE Advanced 2024, crucial for IIT Ropar BTech admission, is not confirmed, but it's expected to be on June 2, 2024. The conducting IIT is likely to be IIT Ropar. To be eligible, candidates must rank among the top 2.5 Lacs in JEE Main 2024 or have qualified in JEE Main 2023. Candidates can attempt JEE Advanced twice. The exam is in CBT mode with two papers, and candidates must complete both for IIT Dhanbad BTech admission, but the exam's marking scheme and question distribution vary yearly.

IIT Ropar offers the GATE fellowship to Indian Nationals pursuing the M.Tech course. The fellowship provides a monthly stipend of INR 12,400, which can be availed for a maximum duration of 24 months.  Recipients of the fellowship are required to contribute eight hours per week to assist the department in various academic activities. These activities may include laboratory demonstrations, tutorials, evaluating assignments and test papers, conducting seminars, and engaging in research projects, among others.

The institute offer UG, PG, and Doctoral courses through its different departments. There are 14 departments of study at IIT Ropar namely Biomedical, Chemical, Civil, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, Metallurgical and Materials, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and Humanities, and Social Sciences.

Candidates willing to get admission to various courses must apply online on the official website of the college. The modes of IIT Ropar course admissions are online and offline. For BTech, MTech, and MSc, aspirants need to apply for the respective accepted entrance exams and then at the institute's portal after counselling to confirm their admission. Hence, for the BTech course, aspirants are required to firstly complete the JEE Main application form. 

Admission to BTech courses in India is typically based on the scores of the Joint Entrance Examination Main and JEE Advanced, followed by JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) counselling. JEE Main is a national-level entrance exam for admission to undergraduate engineering programmes in IIITs. JEE Advanced is the second stage of JEE and the gateway to the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology. Candidates who qualify for JEE Main with good rank are eligible to appear for JEE Advanced. After the JEE Main and JEE Advanced examinations, JoSAA counselling is conducted for admission to IITs. This is a centralised counselling process for the allocation of seats in these institutions based on the scores of JEE Main and JEE Advanced. During the counselling process, candidates can choose from the available courses and institutes based on their preferences and scores. JoSAA counselling is usually conducted in the months of June and July every year.
