Come to IISER if you love Science, even if you don't you will find what you love if you are here.

Placements: The college is justifying the cause of its set up as many of the students are going abroad and also into top class Indian institutes for carrying out their Ph.D. The placement cell here isn't very active, however recent efforts are being made to bring companies to the college. All students carry out an internship in their summers i.e., May-July. And if the student is getting the scholarship, the funding agency bears the travel and lodging expenses.

If you want to BA scientist, come here.

Placements: At present, I'm still studying in this college, and most of my seniors are doing their PhD in foreign countries. Some are at Max Plank, MIT etc. The course offered here is only useful for higher studies. If your aim is a job after the course, then IISER's is not for you. But, you can easily be a lecturer after the course and after writing the usual exams.

The best institute for science education.

Placements: This is a science institute. If you are dedicated to science, then it is the best institute. If you do well, then you will have almost all the opportunity you can get after doing B.Tech. The placement is not like technical college, the companies visit, and they select an employee for their company. Here you have to do something different.

IISER - A new career for science loving students.

Placements: There are no placements provided by the institute. Most students go for PhD to become a professor or a scientist. Some of them go for various jobs in private and public sectors even though the aim of the course is not so. Students are also writing PSC exams.

I am satisfied with the institute.

Placements: We have the good placements in PhD. Although, the institute is trying hard to introduce a placement cell after the MS program. The placement abroad for PhD is good in the countries like Germany, France etc. Almost every student is selected either within the institute or outside the country.

A good infrastructure and faculty.

Placements: The placements offered here are pretty decent. Mostly, the students opt for a PhD after the integrated masters and bachelors program. However, there are certain companies which also come looking to hire some students. The salaries provided are not that well, but the scholarships are provided if you're doing a PhD.

Good infrastructure and facilities but lack of exposure towards industries.

Placements: The Institute established by MHRD, a government of India, is dedicated to basic science. So the placement ratio is less as most of the students prefer to go for higher studies like PhD. Around 65-75% students choose PhD as the further goal. After graduating from the Institute, students are doing PhD in American, German and French institutes.

Best infrastructure, best faculty and facilities.

Placements: You should not worry about the job. These institutes aim to provide scientists, not millionaires. But yes, from here you can go in any field related to science or you can do PhD. Placement record is not high because many students prefer doing PhD instead of job. Here, you get decent scholarships. Also, the fees is quite low as compared to other institutes.

Great infrastructure, expensive labs, research-oriented.

Placements: IISER gives a great opportunity for an internship in a wide variety of colleges in and outside India. They have collaborations with a lot of universities and laboratories. Many of my friends have gone to universities in Germany, USA and Singapore and learned a lot. You can also do your 5th-year project in a college of your choice (if you are worth it). IISER is a research-oriented college so most of the crowd goes for a doctorate degree but now some companies like Shell are there giving a packag...

IISER Mohali is good college for pursuing science and for those who are highly motivated to be in the field of science as a researcher. But this notion of 'motivation' and what science actually is comes after when you actually do science. My belief and idea about science as a high school pass students was what a general student interested in science would feel. There the interests arises due to the science that is communicated to us through popular articles or clips in newspapers, magazines or t...

Excellent faculty and exposure to world class research. Research facilities are much better than any average Indian university. Campus life is cool with a lot of student’s activity throughout the year. If you are planning to do a foreign PhD, you have a much better change to get one. But placement for jobs are rare.

One of the best place for science lovers. IISERs have both pros and cons which i am going to tell: A. PROS: 1) Excellent faculties and facilities 2) Low fees 3) Full WIfi campus 4) Scholarship for everyone 5) High study standard B. CONS: 1) Not a job oriented course 2) should have maintain decent academic performance for continuation of scholarship

It is the best college to explore your capabilities in research.

Placements: It is a research institute and mainly focuses on research. It does not provide any placements. However, anyone can get it on their own. I suggest taking admission in it only if you have a keen interest in research and would like to study further as students from such reputed institutes get PhD offers from various prestigious universities.

Great faculty, not-so-good hostel facilities but nice labs and an amazing library.

Placements: After getting a BS-MS degree from IISER, most students apply for a Ph.D. Those who go into research are generally paid well. Job opportunities are plentiful. Most students go for internships in their chosen fields, in and outside the campus and gain a lot of experience.
