My Personal Experience at IEM Kolkata.
Placements: 80% students placed. The highest package offered is 35,000, and the lowest package offered is 15,000. Top recruiting companies: Amazon, TCS, PVC, Accenture. All students got internships during summer vacation. Internships were optional, meaning if the students want to avail college help or do internships from outside. Top roles: Manager, CEO, CFO, COO.
Infrastructure: Course infrastructure is very good. Labs are well equipped with sufficient devices for each student. Classrooms have AC. The library is full of necessary books. Hostel facilities are average. Rooms are shared by 2. Food is average. Not enough protein content on a daily basis. Hygienic place.
Faculty: Yes, the teachers are helpful, highly qualified, and knowledgeable. The teachers are very eager to take extra classes in case of doubt clearance, even for a single student. Yes, the course curriculum is relevant and makes the students professional-minded for the industry. The semester exams are moderately difficult but lengthy. The pass percentage is 40%.
Other: Chose this course for the placement opportunities. Best thing is the faculty and the anti-bullying policy maintained successfully. The exam structure can improve a lot. Events: Impact, Federation Cup.

The college is very good, and teachers and faculty members are also helpful.
Placements: Every student can do any course for their beautiful and bright future. This college makes students ready for their bright future. Many small and big companies come here and select students for job positions. Jobs and careers are very bright, so that's good.
Infrastructure: The hostel is for students who live far from their homes. According to me, the hostels and the hostel food are good for students. They also provide good food because students' health is very important to them. If any student feels ill, they also provide medicine.
Faculty: College teachers and faculty members are very helpful to their students. The exam system is very good for the students, making them realize the actual value of exams in their life and future. Faculty members also provide extra classes for their students.

The campus life is dissatisfying, with faculty being satisfactory and placement being moderate.
Placements: In the academic year 2023-24, the placement process has just begun, and currently, 78% of students have secured assured placements. According to the placement cell, the highest package offered is 24 LPA, the lowest is 3 LPA, and the average is 7 LPA for B.Tech CSE (IOT). Top companies include TCS, Cognizant, Wipro, etc. Internship opportunities have been relatively low, with only 20-25% of students receiving internship offers. Top roles secured by students include UI/UX designer, Backend developer, and cybersecurity.
Infrastructure: The most significant drawback of IEM is undoubtedly its campus and infrastructure. It consists of only one tall building and lacks essential facilities such as a ground, AC, or elevators. Even the 8th floor is accessed by walking. The labs are not adequately updated and equipped, and there is a noticeable absence of library books for first-year students. Overall, the infrastructure here is subpar, despite initial impressions.
Faculty: Regarding faculty, there is room for improvement. Instructors typically enter the class, write on the board, deliver the lecture, and leave without engaging in any interaction with students or providing necessary clarification. The faculty's supportiveness is lacking, and exams are challenging, with rigorous grading.
Other: The B.Tech CSE (IOT) course offers numerous job opportunities upon graduation, making it a preferred choice during campus selections. However, the absence of a vibrant campus life is evident, with no festivals, extracurricular activities, or avenues for social connectivity.

Placements are good but facilities could be improved.
Placements: Overall 90% of students get placed. The highest salary package offered is 5 LPA and the lowest salary package offered is 3.45 LPA. Around 4 students secured internships, which is an onsite internship in Bangalore. Companies like Deloitte, TCS, SAP Labs, L&T Infotech, and many more visit for placement. Roles offered are app developer in Accenture, associate analyst in Deloitte, and developer in SAP.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is average. Labs are good. There is no Wi-Fi facility available. Classrooms have air-conditioners, which is quite good during summer. I lived in PG, rather than hostels, as I personally do not like hostels. From what I’ve heard, the hostel experience at IEM wasn’t great.
Faculty: Some teachers are helpful, but others are not. They have knowledge, but some don't teach properly. Technologies taught don't align with current industry-level projects. Exams are not very difficult, as the notes provided by faculty members are enough for students to secure an 8 CGPA.
Other: I chose this course as I wanted to study computer science and prepare for a career in the IT field.

A college with good placements and faculty members.
Placements: Our college provides good placements for final-year students. Top recruiting companies are SAP Labs, Accenture, Deloitte, etc. They provide different technical roles. Maximum students got internships. The highest salary package offered is 7 LPA. The average salary package offered is 4 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 2.5 LPA
Infrastructure: Our college has a good and big campus with enough space. It has a basketball ground. It conducts many types of sports competitions including football, basketball, cricket, etc. Classrooms are air-conditioned. Our college has many labs for practicals. We have seminar halls.
Faculty: Our college conducts practice tests twice a semester. Teachers help students in all aspects. Whatever they can do, they do. They are very cooperative and clear all doubts. Semester exams are moderately difficult. If students are well-prepared, exams are easy.
Other: I chose this course because of my interest in computers and coding. Many cultural fests, tech fests, and hackathons are held in our college.

My honest college review about IEM Kolkata.
Placements: Placement percentage is very low here. It very dissatisfied. Only around 50 percent got place. They are also lower CTC placement. Only small companies visit here. Only top level hard working students got internships and placement. Teachers are very strict about decipline but they don't teach well.
Infrastructure: Their are only two buildings. And all are fit there. No sports facilities. Wi-Fi are there but speed is very low. There is a small library. Faculty teach only 50 percent of the syllabus only. You have study your own. This is totally West of money. Hostels are also not good.
Faculty: Teachers are not helpful at all. They only cover the 50 persent of syllabus and we have to do it own. The attendance culture is very strict. If you miss one class you have to give application why you not attend the class. Otherwise you will not given the attendance from the Next day. Semesters are very difficult they ask out of syllabus questions.
