Admission into the autonomous degree course of the Institution will be based on merit (Class 12 examination aggregate). Students who have passed the Class 12 exam from Boards other than the Maharashtra State Board are required to apply for a Provisional Eligibility Certificate through the College at the time of admission. The final step of admission is to pay the Jai Hind College BA fees.

Candidates seeking admission to the BA and BA Advertising and Journalism programmes are required to meet the Jai Hind College BA eligibility. Candidates who have passed the Class 12 examination conducted by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent from any other Board are eligible for Jai Hind College BA admission.

Jai Hind College normally accepts applications through the University of Mumbai Common Management Entrance Test (UM-CMET), also known as the University of Mumbai Common Entrance Test.  Numerous UG and PG courses are available. It does not sign up students straight away. Merit-based admissions are used. To be eligible for the entrance exam, one must receive at least (45-50%) Agreegaate marks in class 12th in order to be admitted to Jai Hind College. The entrance exam must be taken and passed by (45%).
