Children of Central Government Employees, irrespective of their nativity, provided their parents or guardians (only if both parents are not alive) have been serving in Tamil Nadu continuously for the past five years can be eligible to apply.
Sons & daughters of All India service Tamil Nadu cadre officers are eligible to apply. A Self declaration from the parent in this regard is to be produced.

Review of Kalaingar Karunanidhi Institute of Technology.
Placements: Placements are average. Most of the offers we get are from service-based IT companies. The average salary package offered is around 4.5 LPA. Some core companies also visit our campus, but they offer low salaries. If you are skilled, then try for off-campus placements.
Infrastructure: Hostel rooms are average. About 4-5 members share a room. Non-vegetarian food is served weekly once in the hostel mess. Mess food is below average. The hostel doesn't have a gym facility. There is no television also.
Faculty: Exams are easy due to the autonomous syllabus. You must score atleast 50% to pass the exams. You need to get good marks in CIA exams because the internal marks will be taken from CIA exams. The course has an easy syllabus.
Other: I am from the 2021-2025 batch. The biggest drawback is there is no entertainment in college. The hostel has strict rules. You need permission to get out of the hostel after 7 p.m.

Honest Review of our college.
Placements: In our college, everyone who didn't have arrears have qualified for the placements. Nearby 80% of our students get jobs. The highest annual package is 2,50,000 INR, lowest is 1,20,000 INR and average is 1,75,000 INR. Top recruiting companies are Hyundai, zoho, tech mahindra, etc. Nearby 75% of students got internship in ZOHO and other new companies. Design Engineer is the top role offered in our placements.
Infrastructure: Every manual testing equipment available in our lab. There are many types of old and updated engines and machines are available for research. In our library, there are many books and journals available. Every classroom has Wi-Fi connectivity and free Internet. Quality of food is awesome. Both veg and non-veg food are available in the mess and the canteen. Hostel is clean and hygienic. A gym is available for both boys and girls hostel. Many games are available in our campus. The college has winners in handball tournaments.
Faculty: Every teacher has completed Doctorate in his/her own field, except for one or two teachers. Teaching quality is super and every theory is explained in practical ways. Even Tamil medium students also understand the concept of the theory. Mini industry is available inside the campus. Semester exams are easy for those who understand the subject in a practical way. 40% is the pass percentage.
Other: I like this course so I chose this. Fees is low when compared to other engineering colleges. Campus life and infrastructure is awesome. Fest and cultural activities are conducted in every March.

They give more placements. I didn't get the campus enjoyment here as I expected.
Placements: They offer many placement chances and give placement-related classes that teach how to attend an interview. Some of our seniors have been placed by this college, and they have more recruiting companies. They also give professional courses in order to get jobs.
Infrastructure: Hostels are not so good. The food is not that good and they will not allow us to go outside. We can go out by taking outpass. Not only outpass, but it also needs to be signed by the class advisory, the head of the department, the principal, and finally by the hostel warden. These are all we want to do before going home.
Faculty: Teachers are good, and some are friendly. We can understand their teachings. We want to get 50% marks to get passed. The curriculum is good and it makes the students get industrial jobs. Some teachers are good but there are some teachers we cannot understand sometimes.

Satisfactorily good institution and continuously growing and improving, student supportive.
Placements: More than 90% of students get placed in at least one of the companies. The salary ranges from 10 LPA to 1.5 LPA. You can expect more general recruiters like Think and Learn, Amazon, Few insurance-based companies, Education related companies. Etc. , as well as Medium Scale and MSME Core companies such as CRI Pumps, Taro Pumps, Hirotec. Etc. , Off the campus, you are always encouraged to attend placements. Placed students go on as Graduate Engineer Trainees in case of Core jobs or Sales/Business Development. Etc. There is no enough Internship offers apart from our searching.
Infrastructure: Labs are good and have all the necessary equipments to support training, project work. Etc. , and Faculty members are helpful and open to teach you anything over there. As a Dayscholar, I don't have experience of hostel or food but generally, food is Average, rooms are comfortable and rules are strict for hostelers. There is an affordable and clean cafeteria on campus. Playgrounds are sufficiently available and college has excelled in many sports like Kabaddi, Athletics, Basketball, Cricket, Volleyball, Handball. Etc. There is always ample support from the Physical Education Department for whatever sports we are interested in. NCC is a new thing here and doing well.
Faculty: Teachers in the Mechanical Department are friendly, knowledgeable and practically very helpful. Course Curriculum till last year was Anna University-based. From 2019-20 academic year college got Autonomous status. It also has NBA accreditation for CSE, ECE, EEE, and MECH. I hope the curriculum may be more industry oriented.
Other: Mechanical Engineering is a vast field and there are numerous career prospects within the field. I wish there will be more modern industry-oriented courses like Advanced CAD. Etc. , apart from Basic Subjects. Student Organisations, NCC, Toastmasters club and other academical and Non-academical clubs and groups help students to test their leadership, organizing, communicating and other skills, especially the management is always supportive during events, extracurricular activities like UPSC exams and interview training, and There is meritorious scholarships and Tuition fee waivers based on merit. Few people are studying free of cost too.

The college can meet your expectation.
Placements: The placements in our college are really good. As our college is featured as the best college at low cost, considering that certainly, the placements are really to be appreciated. The placements were increased last year because our college has NAAC-A accreditation and NBA for certain departments. It is also true that some companies visiting the college for placements were seeking for students with no history of arrears and some companies may not expect so. To my knowledge, 50-60% of the students get placed on an average, every year. Some students may get placed through off-campus drives etc. I would rate the placements 8 out of 10.
Infrastructure: Students have all the liberty in the college. As a student of mechanical engineering, I can clearly see a lot of well-equipped laboratories to be worked out. The hostel is good. I like our library the most, it is perfectly built, well designed, digitalised, and has a lot of books. I would rate it 8 out of 10. Considering other colleges, it has the best value and the best auditorium too.
Faculty: The course curriculum is good, and the teaching is good. You can get more information from the faculty about the concepts. They are friendly. The lab sessions are related to the subjects we study.
Other: The college has an NCDRC lab, Toastmasters club, EDC cell and Wi-Fi facility. Sports activities are good. The library offers many facilities, and students can read journals online. CAD lab is also present in the college. Everyone can come to CAD lab and use the most advanced designing software like Solidworks, AutoCAD, a sys, etc.
