It's a Tier One college that can brighten your future.

Placements: I am from the Metallurgy branch, second year at NIT Jamshedpur. Firstly, many people don't know about this branch and also criticize it in terms of core study themes and placement. However, nowadays, growing industries require highly qualified metallurgists. Now, regarding our college's situation, the placement scope for our Metallurgy branch is at the next level. Tata Motors, Tata Steel, the Birla Group, and many other renowned industries offer high packages for our branch.

Life at NIT Jamshedpur! You should take admission or not?

Placements: The placement scenario is good on our campus, though the effect of the recession is also there, especially in the non-core sector. Students are nowadays finding it easier to get jobs in the core sector. The average package of electrical was about 17.5 LPA in 2023, which I suppose will decrease a bit to about 15–16 LPA. And yes, the number of students a single company was used to hire also decreased but the number of companies visiting the campus relatively increased.

I liked the campus, it’s lecture halls and the academics.

Placements: There were only a few opportunities for the students to appear in various campus recruitment drives due to the conditions prevalent in the state of Jammu & Kashmir. However, the campus did witness some PSUs towards the end of my 7th semester. Companies like HPCL, IOCL, and GAIL visited primarily for recruitments of the Mechanical engineering students. However, four students from Civil Engineering also got placed. The recruitments process included three stages being selection of 3 or 4 students f...
