Candidates must have passed 10+2 examination or equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory Subjects along with one of the Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/ Technical Vocational subjects in year 2023, 2024 conducted by respective Boards. Candidates should have secured the mentioned marks in the Class 12th examination or be in the top 20 percentile in Class 12th examination conducted by respective Boards. Candidates who are appearing in the Class 12th / equivalent examination in 2025 irrespective of their age, are also eligible. Note: List of qualifying examination(QE): i). The final examination of the 10+2 system, conducted by any recognized Central/ State Board, such as the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi; Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi; etc. ii). Intermediate or two-year Pre-University examination conducted by a recognized Board/ University. iii). Final examination of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defence Academy iv). Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling with a minimum of five subjects. v). Good placements with pretty okay infrastructure .

Placements: In my course, B.Tech, and branch, IT, around 83-85% of students do get placed, with the average package around 16-17 LPA, the highest going to nearly 70-80 LPA, and the lowest package going for nearly 3-4 LPA. In IT, many big tech MNCs recruit from NIT Raipur, namely Microsoft, Amazon, Adobe, etc. Many Indian companies hire students as well. As for internships, mostly students try to get internships off-campus, as there are not many companies offering on-campus internships, and the competition is quite high.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of NIT Raipur is not that great, and although a new campus is being constructed, the existing campus is not in the best shape. There are hostels for 1st-year students, but after the first year, hostels are on the basis of merit. In IT, labs are actually really good with good facilities. The mess food at the hostels is just okay, nothing really great, and sports facilities are also not that great. I mean, for the most part, you have to pay with your own sports equipment.

Faculty: The teachers and professors here are quite qualified and pretty knowledgeable, and they know what they are teaching. The course curriculum is not quite relevant, though, but it covers all the subjects of engineering nicely, with core subjects as well as the software side of subjects. The college exams are actually not that hard if you attend classes regularly and practice the questions that the professors give you.

Other: I chose this course as I did not have many other options, and this was a pretty viable option for me. The events and club activities are pretty good over here, and you get a lot of exposure through them as well.

Life at National Institute of technology, Raipur.

Placements: 87 percent students were placed from the seniors batch this year. 54 LPA was the highest package offered by Microsoft and the lowest package of 6 LPA was offered by Microsoft. 50 percent of the students got internship offers from various tech companies like Cisco, Dboi, VisA, Arcesium and deshaw companies. Top role offered was that of Software developer.

Infrastructure: Very good lab facilities including good classrooms, washrooms, Wi-Fi with a good speed and a big library along with excellent labs are provided by the college. We have a separate building for the computers lab having around 200 computers available for coding. The quality of facilities is pretty good. The faculty is highly qualified with sheer experience in their field.

Faculty: Teachers are very helpful in clearing the doubts and all of them are highly qualified and experienced with sheer amount of knowledge. The curriculum id relevant to the industry outside but the students should work hard in order to learn the same. The exams are pretty moderate, it is tough to clear the semesters.

Other: I am from the course of B.Tech in Information Technology, batch of 2025. I wish to increase the number of lab staff to get used to real world companies and their working environment. There are enough events conducted in the college including raaga samar etc.

An okayish college with so many less events.

Placements: Almost more than 80 percent of Information Technology branch students are placed every year at NIT Raipur, and many top companies like Adobe, Barclays, and around 120 companies on average visit our campus for the placement drive. On-campus internships are fewer.

Infrastructure: The labs and classrooms are just okay. The Wi-Fi on campus is limited except for labs, but the Wi-Fi doesn't work in many places in the girls' hostel except for a few rooms. You should not expect more from the infrastructure, as it's just okay. Hostels are very limited for boys and are allotted based on CGPA from the 2nd year onwards and on the basis of rank and category in JEE Main for the first year.

Faculty: The faculty doesn't teach that well, and it's common for our engineering students to prepare for exams on our own. The curriculum is good but needs to be improved, as things are changing in the sector, so required changes in the curriculum are also needed, is what I think. But yes, the main courses are covered.

Insights of NIT Raipur.

Placements: Our college is quite good in terms of placements. We have some big companies like Visa, Oracle, Deutsche Bank. Almost 90 percent of students got placed with almost 20 LPA of average CTC of our branch. The overall average CTC of the college is 15 LPA almost, and also companies come for internship opportunities.

Infrastructure: I am enrolled in B.Tech in Information Technology. Our infrastructure is good; we have labs, free Wi-Fi, etc. Our hostel infrastructure is also quite good, but not all students will get to live inside the hostel. It depends on your overall score CGPA, but don't worry, there are lots of PGs out there.

Faculty: We have 2 major exams in one semester: mid-sem and the second one is end-sem. The syllabus is not that big. About professors, the professors are pretty much like the other college faculty members; they don't care about your studies. They come and read the presentation and will go.

Other: You will not regret after coming here. The environment is very good here, and the people are also good here.

The Reality Vs Expectation. The things which you expect and get may be shocking .

Placements: The placement at NIT Raipur is really above average. Specifically for my IT branch the highest package was of 65 Lacs and the average stands for 18 Lacs while the median is of14 Lacs. It is the most prestigious branch of the college even more than the CSE. The placement percentage is also good for IT at NIT RR.

Infrastructure: No, the most satisfaction which brings a poor rating is the hostels at NIT RR. There is a extreme lack of hostel at NIT Raipur. No hostels are provided for all students. They are provided to limited students based on the performance in semester exams and for 1st year it based on their JEE Main score. Rest of academic infra is a bit good.
