Good opportunities for exposure.
Placements: Placements are pretty good. The highest package was 1.2 crore per annum. Many reputed companies often come for placement and internship programs. Good placements occur for good students, obviously. But aside from placements, you do gain pretty nice knowledge.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure and facilities are top-class, but sometimes, like once a month, you might face some scarcity of water. The library, Wi-Fi facilities, and hostel maintenance are available for everyone. All classes have digital boards equipped and good benches.
Faculty: The faculty can be a bit strict sometimes, but that's just a normal thing, and we all have faced it in schools as well. The teaching they provide is really good. The curriculum is the latest as per government policies, but in the initial days, you might feel a bit stressed due to practicals and assignments.

I recommend everyone interested in taking admission to NIT Hamirpur to go ahead.
Placements: Last year, in the 2023 batch, 74% of students were placed, with a median package of 12.8 Lacs, a maximum package of 42 Lacs, and an average package of 13.74 Lacs. Morphie Labs, Juspay, and Bloomberg were the major companies offering placements, with the top role being an SDE at Bloomberg.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is installed in every corner of the campus, providing good network speed. Labs are well-equipped, and classrooms have good ventilation, each with a smart board. The library on campus is grand and offers a smooth book issuance facility. The food quality in the hostel is very good, with a separate section for vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals. The campus has plenty of greenery and, being situated in mountainous regions, enjoys very good climatic conditions.
Faculty: Teachers here are very supportive and knowledgeable, explaining concepts in various ways to help students grasp them easily. The course curriculum is designed to develop students into not just good engineers but also visionary individuals. Regarding semester exams, there is no strict difficulty criterion. If a student is serious about their studies and attends classes regularly, they can excel in exams and achieve a decent CGPA while managing co-curricular activities. Students can explore various domains of life, ensuring that they won't regret their four years of campus life.
Other: I chose this subject because I was passionate about my career in semiconductor engineering.

NIT Hamirpur : In the foothills of Himalayas.
Placements: Most of the students get placed in IT companies. About core companies:Circuital branches like ECE and EE get very few chances for core placement due to the absence of good core companies coming to college or companies not being of very good quality (offering good placement). Civil and mechanical engineers easily get placement in their core companies. The average package for college is about 12.5 to 13.5 LPA, which fluctuates each year. About internship: Most of the students have to apply themselves and the chances of core internships are very low compared to internships in IT companies. My branch is ECE and for us, the core companies are Qualcomm, AMD, Intel, Samsung, etc. And we get roles like electronics engineer and VLSI design engineer and many of us go for higher studies if we talk about opportunities in the core of ECE.
Infrastructure: We have good facilities but the main problem is that we do not get much authority or chance to operate machinery in labs. Also, infrastructure is very good at my college; our campus is one of the very best in terms of beauty and infrastructure. Each branch has its own department with all the required labs and lecture halls, other than a common lecture hall for everyone. About Wi-Fi: We have wi-fi facilities in lecture halls, branch buildings and libraries with good connectivity. In hostels, Wi-Fi speed is very low and you get only 1 GB per day with one phone number. Also, there are connectivity problems in hostels. About the hostel, mess :1st year hostel is best; after that, in further years, we get different hostels in which there is a lift but it does not work mostly. The quality of the food is average to good but the taste is very average. There is a canteen facility in only one hostel. Medical facilities are there in our college for small problems, and for any big issue, we get recommended to the city hospital. We have our own ground and all sports facilities are present in our Student Activity Center.
Faculty: Faculty members are mostly not motivated to teach us. Some are busy with research so they don't care. Most junior faculty members do not know how to teach; only 1 out of every 4 faculty members is good. Lab faculty do not care about teaching; they are just there for the sake of being there. But teachers are helpful; they allow you to come to their cabins to ask any kind of doubt and always try to solve it but due to there bad method of teaching or, I will say, lack of communication, we are unable to understand many things in class. The curriculum is relevant according to the GATE exam but I will say it is not focused on industry in any way. Exams are moderate to difficult, which is good because we get tested in a good way.
Other: I chose ECE because I like my branch and want to do higher studies in this field. Teachers can be more motivated and less strict and they can create a friendly environment for us to teach in so that we can learn better. We have one of the very best cultural festivals, HILL'FAIR, in the month of October or November, and the crowd is very good and happy at that time. College connectivity is a problem, I will say. The college is located in Hamirpur, which is not a developed or metropolitan city, so there are many problems that we have to face. We have good sports facilities and our college promotes sports culture. There are no academic achievement-based scholarships, but there are many reservation- and economic-based scholarships that students can avail of.

Balanced Experience: Supportive Faculty, average Placements, and Modern Infrastructure.
Placements: The recent placement Statistics for our branch have been somewhat disappointing, with only 63% of students securing job offers. While there were some standout offers, including the highest package of 25 LPA offered by Qualcomm, the overall placement scenario suggests room for improvement. The average package was 9.17 LPA, which, although respectable, reflects the challenges faced by a significant portion of the student body in securing positions that align with their aspirations. The lower placement rate highlights the need for enhanced support and resources to better prepare students for the competitive job market. It also indicates the importance of forging stronger industry connections and ensuring that the curriculum is closely aligned with the current demands of employers. Despite the setbacks, the presence of top-tier companies like Qualcomm in the recruitment process suggests that there is potential for our branch to improve in future placement drives. Moving forward, it is crucial to address the gaps in our placement strategies and focus on providing more robust training, internships, and industry exposure to ensure that all students have the opportunity to achieve their career goals. With converted efforts from both faculty and students, there is hope that the placement scenario for our branch will improve significantly in the coming years.
Infrastructure: Our college department offers a comfortable and well-equipped learning environment that enhances the overall student experience. The classrooms are air-conditioned, providing a conducive atmosphere for studying, especially during the hotter months. This modern setup helps students focus better during lectures, making the learning process more effective. In addition to the classrooms, the college has well-equipped labs that are essential for hands-on learning and experimentation. These labs are outfitted with the latest technology and equipment, allowing students to apply theoretical knowledge in practical setting. The campus is also well-connected, with Wi-Fi available throughout, ensuring that students have access to online resources and can stay connected for academic and personal purpose. This connectivity is crucial in today? S digital age, where much of the learning and research happens online. For residential students, the hostel provides a comfortable living experience. The food in the hostel is good, catering to the diverse taste of the student community. Additional, there is a canteen on campus that remains open, offering a variety of snacks and meals, making it convenient for students to grab a quick bite between classes. The college also prioritize the health and well-being of its students, with a hospital on campus to address any medical needs. For those interested in sports, there is a well-maintained sports ground in the college and a playing court within the hostel premises. These facilities encourage physical activity and provide students with ample opportunities to stay active and engaged outside of academics.
Faculty: The teaching quality in our branch is commendable, thanks to the well-qualified professors who are deeply committed to student success. These educators bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the classroom, ensuring that students receive a solid foundation in their respective fields. Their dedication is evident in the way they approach teaching, making complex concepts accessible and engaging. As a result, the overall teaching quality is decent, creating an environment conducive to learning and intellectual growth. The course curriculum is another strong point of our academic experience. It is carefully designed to be relevant to the current industry standards and trends, equipping students with the skills and knowledge they need to excel in their careers. The curriculum balance theoretical understanding with practical application, preparing students for real-world challenges. This relevance makes the learning process more meaningful and ensures that students are well-prepared for their professional journey. When it comes to semester examinations, the outcome largely depend on the students' dedication. For those who consistently study and engage with the material, the exams are relatively easy to crack. These students find that the exams are a fair reflection of what has been taught, rewarding their hard work. However, for those who neglect their studies, the exams can be quite challenging, emphasizing the importance of consistent effort throughout the semester. Overall, the academic structure in our branch supports those who are willing to put in the work while maintaining high standards.
Other: In my JEE rank it was the best possible option which I was getting I would like to improve the hectic schedule to a more manageable one. In college a annual cultural event occurs name hillfair and the technical event occurs named nimbus and sports event named Lalkaar .

NIT Hamirpur- The campus that feels like heaven.
Placements: Around 80% of the students get placed every year. The highest package offered last year was 1.7 CPA. Students from 7th semester are eligible for placements .Some of the top recruiting companies that visit the campus every year are Samsung ,Accenture, Oracle ,IBM ,Infosys ,Paytm, Amazon etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of college, departments and campus is really good. The campus is quite beautiful and facilities like free Wi-Fi ,Sport facilities ,medical facilities are also available for the students. But for hostels the infrastructure is not good. The hostel staff is not at all helpful and supportive. The quality of mess food is also not up to the mark and basic facilities like water supply is not available most of the times in hostel.
Faculty: The teaching quality varies from one teacher to another. The teachers are highly experienced and are experts in their own field. As NEP 2020 is introduced our course curriculum has changed a little bit but still some improvement is required and yes we get exposure to real time projects. For exams, some exams are difficult while some are not and the pass percentage is 40%.
Other: Apart from academics, students can also explore clubs based on their interests for extra curricular activities. There are two fests in an year, the cultural fest known as Hill'fair in October and the technical fest known as Nimbus in March. Sport facilities are also available for students.

Hi Tanishq, 75% marks in +12 is required to get admission in NIT's and IIT's. Try looking for other good colleges which do not require the 75% criteria. Colleges which look for both JEE + board marks collectively. Good luck!
