Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore started the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2024 registration on Aug 30. GATE application form 2024 is available online at the exam official website. Aspirants can visit the website to apply. NIT Sikkim M.Tech application process is done through GATE application process. Candidates need to visit the official website of GATE gate2024.iisc.ac.in. The process of applying includes registration, filling out the online application form, uploading the required documents, and payment of the application fee. 

For the academic year 2021-2022, NIT Sikkim achieved an overall placement rate of 80.84%, and all its students secured internships in renowned organizations. Capgemini, Bosch, Siemens, TCS, Aarti Industries Limited, among others, were the top recruiters at NIT Sikkim in 2022. The total tuition fee for the M.Tech programme is INR 1.4 Lacs and the average salary received after the completion of the course is INR  7.3 lakh, considering the total tuition fee and the salary secured this seems to be a good return on investment.

The seat intake for MTech programme in NIT Sikkim is divided among the specialisation offered by the MTech programme. The Computer Scirnce and Engineering (CSE) intake total seat of 23, M.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering intakes  23 seat aswell and M.Tech. in Control, Power and Electric Drives intakes the least of only 8 seats.

The total fee for the MTech programme at NIT Sikkim is INR 1.4 lakh. The total fee is calculated based on annual/ semester fee available for the academic year, hence is indicative. ST/SC & PH students are fully exempted from paying tuition fees, while the most economically backward students (whose family income is less than INR 1 lakh per annum) are granted full remission of the tuition fee. Other economically backward students, whose family income falls between INR 1 lakh to INR 5 lakh per annum, are granted a remission of 2/3rd of the tuition fee.

As per the NIRF report 2024, a total of 31 MTech students graduated in 2023. Out of these, 20 were placed during 2023 placements. This makes the placement rate almost 65%. Earlier, out of 34 MTech graduates 12 were placed during 2022 placements. This makes the placement rate 35%. From 2021 to 2023, a fluctuating trend was recorded in the MTech placement rate. To get admission at NIT Sikkim, candidates muat have certain percnetile in the course they want to apply. Candidate are eligible for further entrance exams and counselling process, once they qualify the eligibility criteria of NIT Sikkim, which are as follows:

NIT Sikkim admission procedure 2025 for all the courses is different. Candidates have to apply via various national level entrance exam and central counselling to get admission into the institute. Find below NIT Sikkim admission process 2025:

• Candidates seeking admission at NIT Sikkim are required to complete the application form for the course-specific entrance exam. After appearing for the respective entrance exams, candidates have to apply for the counselling process for the final seat allotment.
• For its flagship BTech course, NIT Sikkim admits students with a valid JEE Main score and are allotted seats through JoSAA Counselling. Admission to M.Tech is done through GATE, followed by CCMT Counselling. Similarly for MSc admission, IIT JAM and CCMN Counselling are required. However, PhD admission requires to appear in the Institution entrance exam and PI. Additionally, NIT Sikkim conducts IAT (Institute Admission Test),  for admission to the left-over seats from the CCMN and CCMNT counselling for MSc/MTech.
• The cutoff for BTech, MTech, and MSc courses is released by the respective counselling bodies.The shortlisted candidates are then required to pay the admission fee to confirm their seats.

Candidates preparing for IITs are only required to appear for the JEE Advanced entrance exam after qualifying JEE Main. Students who who secure above the 98th percentile in JEE Main 2024 Session 2 should start preparing for JEE Advanced 2025 immediately. Those who score between 95th and 98th percentile should focus on improving their JEE Main score by taking multiple mock tests and practicing previous year's question papers. By analysing their strengths and weaknesses, candidates can identify their areas of proficiency and topics where they need improvement. If they can achieve full marks in their practice sessions, they can start preparing for JEE Advanced. However, if they cannot score full marks, it is recommended that they appear for multiple mock test series for more practice.
