Review of NIT Surathkal (NITK) - National Institute of Technology.
Placements: Almost 70% of the previous batch students get placed in companies. The highest salary package offered is 22 LPA, the lowest salary package offered is 9 LPA and the average salary package offered is 12 LPA. Various companies hire various students may be Qualcomm, Oracle, Microsoft, etc. Roles are to crack the coding round and get interviews. In our course, the highest salary package offered is 43 LPA, the lowest salary package offered is 7 LPA and the average salary package offered is 12 LPA. Almost 70% of the students got placements.
Infrastructure: Labs are very good, and all the computers have an i7 processor and air-conditioned. Classrooms are good, well-designed and equipped with projectors, blackboard, whiteboard. The library is also good, and you can study whenever you want. Hostels are also good, and 3 people can live in each room. From 2nd year, there will be a single-seater room. Food is good and pure vegetarian. The health centre is open 24 hours, and doctors are available all the time. Sports and games are also good, and there is a large sports complex.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are well-qualified. They have done their masters and doctorate from IISC Bangalore, NIT Trichy, France etc. Teaching quality is up to mark. The course curriculum does not make students industry-ready, as various subjects are taught. The pressure is so much here to handle all subjects in a very small amount of time.
Other: I have chosen this course because I like the computer field. I have given the GATE exam, and I got an information technology branch. This course gives me a lot of idea in different fields. I wish the college should not give too much syllabus that can demotivate you, and a less course study can give you deep knowledge about that. Events and fests are organised many times. A few days ago our India's vice president visited our college. The campus is crowded. Dj nights are also organised. Extracurricular activities are conducted.
