    {Source: B.E. / B.Tech students & alumni}

Effectiveness of Placement Cell for B.E./B.Tech Programs at Saveetha School of Engineering

Here's an overview of the placement cell's performance:

    * Placement Rate: Approximately 70-80% of students are placed, with most being offered jobs in the IT sector.
    * Average Salary Package: The average salary offered ranges between INR1,20,000 to INR3,00,000 per month.
    * Top Recruiting Companies: Companies like Tech Mahindra, Qspiders, Infosys, Amazon, and others visit the campus for recruitments.
    * Internship Opportunities: Although internships are not provided by the college, students have to search for opportunities themselves.

    * Limited Guidance: Some students feel that there is no proper guidance from the placement department, making it challenging to secure internships and jobs.
    * Lack of Information: Some students reported not having enough information about the placement process, company visits, and interview schedules.
    * Competition: With over 6,000 students on campus, competition for jobs can be intense.

Overall, while the placement cell seems to have its strengths, there is scope for improvement in terms of providing more guidance and support to students.

Note: These findings are based on the feedback and experiences shared by current and former students/alumni of Saveetha School of Engineering.

    Average and good infrastructure.
Placements: There are no 100% placements in the university as of now. To be honest, the percentage of students being placed in our passing-out batch is less than 10%. The top recruiting companies are TCL, Cognizant, Virtusa, Amazon, etc. In the last batch, a student got recruited in college placements with a package of 44 lakhs/annum, and there are a good percentage of internships, though with a stipend of 1 lakh being the highest.
Infrastructure: When we talk about the infrastructure, it's really good, with eye-catching buildings, and the college environment is very pleasant. We do have AC facilities in most of the classrooms, and Wi-Fi is available throughout the campus. The labs are really well-maintained, and the library is very huge in comparison. Hostel facilities are also good; AC and non-AC rooms are available. We do not have canteens inside the hostel; rather, we have separate restaurants all over the campus, and you can have anything you like. Sports and games are also well-encouraged, and many competitions are held.
Faculty: Well, not all the teachers are well-knowledgeable, but they try to do their best in teaching the given syllabus. Until now, we have been writing the exams monthly; once we complete a subject, we immediately write an exam to finish the subject. There were no semester-type exams, but in 2025, they changed to semesters, 3 months once, with a total of 4 semesters. The curriculum is relevant, though, but not enough to make the students industry-ready. But the pass percentage is more than 70%, I guess.
Other: I chose this course because it is the most demanded qualification in the industry right now. This course gives you the knowledge of both Artificial Intelligence and Data Science at the same time, which is very crucial. Actually, in this college, the syllabus for CSE (AI) and AI & Data Science are more or less similar; I prefer it to be different for our course. The events conducted are very extravagant here; even though there are thousands of students studying, only during the break hours will the college be crowded. Most of the time, it's very peaceful.

Terms and conditions of Saveetha .
Placements: The theme of our college is 100% placement, which means all students need to crack at least one interview and get an offer letter. That should be shown to management, and they help us get the degree easily. Without the offer letter, our management won't give a degree. From the 3rd year, 2nd semester, all students are eligible for placements and internships.
Infrastructure: Our hostel timings are from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. The infrastructure is awesome. For each subject, we have separate labs. For example, I am from ECE, and I have all core subjects of 30, for which I have 30 labs. So now you can think about how big and wide our college is.
Faculty: The teachers are well-qualified in their respective streams. They help us and teach us until we understand the concept. Our management is running a totally odd and unique technique for giving semester exams, i.e., concept mapping. We need to write and give our exam on A3 sheets, and our management will provide that at the time of the semester. Those who read thoroughly and follow the faculty instructions can easily clear the exam.
Other: All my brothers took ECE at the time of their engineering, and now they are well-settled in boards, which is the main reason why I chose this stream. No need to improve or change the college management technology; all is going well, and they are doing well. Management conducts all events, workshops, symposiums, etc., for developing our skills.

It's not satisfactory because of the poor response of management.
Placements: 80 percent of students were placed. Hexaware, TCS, Kaar and Accenture are top recruiters. 59 percent of students got internships and the minimum number of students got rejected due to poor skills. However, it is good to have these placements; we can have our experience.
Infrastructure: Wifi and college infrastructure is good but hostels are how ever hostels are not quite good in infrastructure and the facilities are not so satisfactory. I can give a 5 out of 10 rating. Cleaning is not good and AC will not work correctly either.
Faculty: The faculty depends on your behavior; if you are good, they are also good; if not, they are also bad but there is partiality among themselves and we should be careful and just study all by ourselves. An outing is not possible. That is the most annoying thing here.
Other: It is not worth it, go to another college.

It is a very good college only for studying purpose.
Placements: In our college, almost 99% of students are placed in companies. The highest salary package offered is 44 LPA. The average salary package offered is 6.6 LPA and the lowest salary package offered is 3 LPA. Recruitment companies are Amazon, Google, Flipkart, Wipro, etc. In our college, all students got internships from our batch.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure are very good and excellent. One will get college Wi-Fi everywhere. Labs are also good and classrooms are very perfect and beautiful are there in our college. The last library is also where one will get any book regarding engineering.
Faculty: Here teachers are very intelligent, very skillful and qualified. Teaching quality is also very perfect. They will conduct seminars, group discussions, quizzes, etc. Well, exams are very difficult if we don't study. If we study means definitely we will pass.

Overall it is good to join this college.
Placements: According to recent placement statistics institutions like IIMS have a 100% placement record. The average salary package offered is 20.02 LPA. The highest salary package offered is 75.2 LPA. The average salary package offered at NIT Jamshedpur is 20.84 LPA. The highest salary package offered is 82 LPA. Approximately 98% of Brainware University graduates were successful in landing internships at companies like Cargill and Axis Bank. Among the top employers were Target Corporation and Pega System, which provided positions mostly in management consulting and engineering for software firms.
Infrastructure: Numerous colleges offer well-maintained labs, large classrooms with LCD projectors, and extensive libraries with a wealth of collections and electronic resources as course facilities. There is Wi-Fi available all across campus. The mess and canteen food, which offers both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, varies in quality, although hostel accommodations are usually decent. Basic health units are part of the medical facilities, which guarantee the well-being of students. A balanced lifestyle is also encouraged by sports infrastructure, which facilitates a variety of indoor and outdoor activities.
Faculty: Generally speaking, instructors at different universities are skilled and informed, offering pupils a lot of help. With industry-relevant courses that successfully prepare students for the workforce. The teaching quality is excellent. The college's high academic standards are reflected in the difficulty of the semester exams, which typically have a pass rate of 70-80%. Students are more prepared for their future employment because of this mix of knowledgeable instructors, pertinent curriculum, and organized exams, which also increases their employability and preparation for market demands. All things considered, the educational experience is thorough and encouraging.
Other: Pupils frequently select their courses based on their enthusiasm for the subject and the prospect of a successful career. An industry-relevant curriculum, knowledgeable instructors, and beneficial networking opportunities are some of the main advantages. However, through actual initiatives and updated information, more practical exposure could be provided. Campus life is lively, with a variety of technical and cultural festivals that encourage community involvement. Scholarships help talented people, and the whole experience is improved by the diverse student body and strong connectedness. Because extracurricular activities foster holistic development, the course offers a rich and comprehensive educational experience.

This college has atmosphere like schools.
Placements: I'm a 2nd-year student, and almost all students are placed from courses such as CS, IT, and AIDS. Bio-related courses such as bioinformatics and biotechnology placement opportunities are fewer. The placement packages are also low in all courses.
Infrastructure: There are blocks in the university. Few blocks are well maintained, but most of them are not up to standard. Wi-Fi access is only available for CS and IT students. The library consists of a good study area, which is peaceful. There are various canteens inside the campus, so the quality varies for each canteen.
Faculty: A few faculty members are very knowledgeable and helpful, but not all. Not all facilities are easy to access. Many events and programs are organized to develop student's skills. The course curriculum is not that helpful. The exam system is different, but it's easy. Pass percentage is 50%.
Other: I chose SIMATS to pursue this course because bioinformatics in the engineering sector adds value to the certificate. More lab facilities would be helpful at the college. There are no complaints regarding events, fests, or other activities.
