Overall, the college is the best college in all the aspects.
Placements: The college is the best, and only the fee is high. The staff members are good, and we have a big complex. The college is good in most of the sports. The cultural activities are held. The students have achieved lots in studies as well as extracurricular activities. The campus is close the Nerul railway station. There is no trouble in reaching the college. It is a well-reputed college. The college is the best as compared the other private colleges.
Infrastructure: The classes are good and air-conditioned. There are separate labs for the practicals. The campus is big. There is a separate ground for cricket and football. Indoor games are also available like TT, badminton, carrom, chess, etc. The library has various books to study, and it creates an environment to study, and the students love coming to this college.
Faculty: The teachers are good, well-trained, and well paid. Most of the teachers are doctors. The teachers here have well-experience. The teachers are there to help the students. They are friendly to the students. The other non-teaching staff are also kind in nature.

Fine but not the best. Needs improvement.
Placements: Placements are okay. Few companies visit every year. The salary offered is good. But as the number of recruitment companies that visit is less, so we may have to find a job on our own. Though the faculty members inform us about the walk-in interviews in different companies on a regular basis.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is not so good. It's just a building. There are only two lifts which are not enough. Very few things are available in the canteen, Hostel facilities are not available but there are a lot of PGs nearby. All the classrooms are spacious and have projectors, labs are good.
Faculty: Faculty members are helpful, well qualified and very knowledgeable. They teach through projectors and blackboards. The student-faculty ratio is 1:15. The curriculum is good. All the topics needed are covered nicely. Regular seminars and projects are given to students. The timetable and yearly calendar are also provided on time. The results take a lot of time though.

Good student life, not so good academically.
Placements: Placements were decent. Some people got placed while the others are still giving interviews. The pay package isn't that great, and research opportunities are fewer. Sales and marketing jobs are abundant, although a small percentage did get research jobs. But after bachelor's, people usually move abroad to study further.
Infrastructure: The biotechnology labs are well-equipped, the engineering lab could be better but now they have new instruments so that's good. The main university has an amazing sports arena and the stadium. The school of biotech doesn't have much for infrastructure other than the labs.
Faculty: The new curriculum for biomedical engineering is good, and the faculty members teach well, at least most of them do. Some teachers are not so good. Practical learning could have been better but overall, the course covers every major part of biomedical engineering.

Other: College education facilities are one of the best in Mumbai. There is some lacking in the facilities for the students but overall the education, lab and lab equipments are good. Wi Fi facility is not there. Classes at SBB are interactive with a mix of lectures and presentations. Internal and external exams get equal weightage. There is one mid semester and one semester exam per semester. No handouts are given to students but most teachers share their presentations.

Other: D.Y.Patil University is a UGC recognized deemed university (NAAC accredited) and offers a wide range of courses. The Biotechnology and Bioinformatics institute is situated in CBD Belapur outside of the main campus not too far away in Nerul, Navi Mumbai. So one does tend to miss out on the activities of the main campus, which can be quite lively. The Biotech guys do have their own events but one has to agree that they are a shadow of what happens in the Nerul campus. Academically speaking, the B.Tech course in Biotechnology is like any other 4 year engineering programme with the first year offering generic engineering courses (Engineering Maths, Drawing, Physics etc) and then followed up by specialized courses in Biotechnology. Course structuring is average at best and a lot of the curriculum keeps repeating over semesters. Teaching staff can range from really good to quite average. A B.Tech degree in Biotechnology always comes with a disclaimer. If you think it will earn you high paying jobs in the field of Biotechnology, it’s pretty wishful thinking. You might land up one of those IT services jobs that any degree could earn you but core jobs are few and far. Anyone who intends to make it big in this sector does have to do higher studies (M.Tech or PhD) The placement scene is pretty bleak as a result. Facilities on campus are pretty good and one wouldn’t find a lot to complain about when it comes to academic facilities or otherwise.
