Candidates need to pass a bachelor's degree from a recognised university in India or any other country to apply for SJMSOM EMBA. Aspirants should also have a minimum of seven years of experience including five years managerial experience or equivalent.

Candidate seeking admission to the MBA programme at SJMSOM, IIT Bombay must take the CAT exam as SJMSOM inducts candidates for the MBA programme based on a valid score in CAT. Candidates having valid minimum CAT overall and section wise percentile as mentioned in the cut-off list released by the SJMSOM, IIT Bombay will be shortlisted for Personal Interview (PI) round. Below is the MBA eligibility criteria at SJMSOM:

• Candidates need to pass a bachelor’s degree or a master’s degree with a minimum of 60% aggregate (55% aggregate in case of SC/ ST/ PwD candidates) or a minimum CPI of 6.5 (6 in case of candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ PWD category) out of 10 or applicants appearing for the final year of degree or completed the degree and awaiting result can also apply or,
• Applicants appearing for final year of the degree and those who have completed the degree requirements and awaiting results can also apply. The applicant should have secured an aggregate of 60% aggregate (55% aggregate in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD category) or equivalent till the latest exam that has been completed and whose scores are available or,
• CA, CS, CFA, ICWA or FRM, with a first-class bachelor’s degree in any discipline having secured 60% aggregate (55% aggregate in case of candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ PWD category) in aggregate (including all years /semesters) or a minimum CPI of 6.5 (6 in case of candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ PWD category) out of 10 can also apply for MBA programme.

There is no such provision for direct admission to any of the programmes offered at SJMSOM, IIT Bombay. Candidates seeking admission to any particular programme will have to fulfil the eligibility and selection criteria of that course.

Yes, candidate having CAT percentile above 93 will be shortlisted for the Personal Interview (PI) round. According to the cut-off list released by SJMSOM, IIT Bombay for the year 2022. The minimum overall CAT percentile required for admission to the MBA programme was 90. Also, the minimum section wise CAT percentile was 50.

The two-year SJMSOM MBA course is organised into eight terms. In the first year (first four terms), students acquire knowledge on all the disciplines of management through 23 rigorous courses. All the academic courses require case studies, course projects and research by students, which provide exposure to the latest practices in the industry. Students get an option of doing a one-month winter project at the end of first two terms. The curriculum also includes a summer project at the end of the first year of the programme. 

SJMSOM, IIT Bombay only accepts CAT score for admission to its flagship MBA programme. Aspiring candidates must apply for the CAT exam and should aim to score well in it. Candidates based on their CAT scores will be selected for the Personal Interview (PI) round.
