Q:   What eligibility criteria is required to pursue B.E. / B.Tech from SJMSOM IIT Bombay?

A: 
Eligibility criteria: Candidates must have passed 10+2 from a recognised board. Bachelor of Technology, BS, or DD candidates can apply for the programme at the end of their sixth semester with the approval of the DUGC of the concerned department. Students must have a minimum CPI of 7.0 at the end of their 6th semester and should not have any backlog in their Undergraduate courses. Candidates need to indicate their preferences for different specializations, like Finance or Operations Management however, these two specializations are available at present. Yes, SJMSOM offers a BTech and MBA integrated courses named as Inter-Disciplinary Dual Degree Program (IDDDP) in Management is an MBA with specialisation offered to fourth year BTech/ BS/ Dual Degree to students of IIT Bombay. Candidates who are at the end of their sixth semester with the approval of DUGC can apply for the IDDDP programme at SJMSOM. They need to secure 7.0 CGPA in the sixth semester to get admission.

Yes, definitely for BTech students placements are too good and very well paid. First of all they trained the students very well and keep it ready for the industries and also all top recruitments such as GEP, HUL, Google, Accenture, Cargill, etc.visits the campus and mostly all students are get placed at the campus itself and it was heard that there was more raise was there in placements of B.Tech and Masters students over there. So, students can easily get good placements after completions of their studies.

    Q:   What is the qualifying SJMSOM CAT cutoff 2024?

    A: 

    SJMSOM MBA admission 2024 is based on CAT 2023 scores. Only candidates who have appeared for CAT are eligible for MBA admissions at SJMSOM. CAT exam has three sections namely, VARC, DILR and Quantitative Aptitude, candidates seeking SJMSOM MBA admissions must meet both the sectional as well as total CAT cutoff. The expected CAT cutoff for VARC is 75, DILR is 75, Quantitative Aptitude is 75 and the overall is 90. It is only after meeting the expected cutoff, candidates are called for further rounds of admission.

    Q:   Can I get direct admission in SJMSOM?

    A: 

    There is no such provision for direct admission to any of the programmes offered at SJMSOM, IIT Bombay. Candidates seeking admission to any particular programme will have to fulfil the eligibility and selection criteria of that course.

    For admission to its flagship MBA programme, candidates must apply for the CAT exam and should aim to score well in it. Candidates based on their CAT scores will be selected for the personal interview round. The final merit list for shortlisted aspirants for the MBA programme at SJMSOM, IIT Bombay will be based on candidate’s composite score of different parameters which includes CAT overall score, personal interaction (PI) and candidate profile.

    Q:   When will CAT 2023 take place for admission to SJMSOM (IIT Bombay)?

    A: 

    For admission to MBA 2024 batch at SJMSOM, the CAT test will be conducted on November 26, 2023. Aspirants of SJMSOM are required to appear for the exam in Computer Based Testing mode at the allotted test centres. CAT exam 2023 will be held in three slots:

    Morning slot: 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM

    Afternoon slot: 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM

    Evening slot: 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM

    Earlier, the CAT exam used to be of 180 minutes with 100 questions but in 2020, both exam duration and number of questions were reduced due to COVID-19 pandemic. Now, starting CAT 2022, the total number of questions stands at 66 as part of CAT pattern.

    IIT Bombay does not offer B.Tech. + MBA as an integrated degree. The intake to the flagship MBA program provided by Shailesh J. Mehta School of Management - SJMSoM is carried out separately.
