Q:   Is B.Tech at Shri Vishnu Engineering College for Women better than GMRIT?

A:

Both GMR Institute of Technology (GMRIT) and Shri Vishnu Engineering College for Women (SVECW) are highly regarded universities; which is the "better" option will depend on a number of variables, such as individual circumstances, career objectives, and personal preferences.

SVECW, a Bhimavaram-based organization, places a high priority on offering women only top-notch engineering and technology education. The institution provides a B.Tech degree that emphasizes advancing women's participation in engineering. The school is renowned for its ample facilities, encouraging atmosphere, and cutting-edge infrastructure designed with female students' needs in mind.

However, the Rajam-based GMR Institute of Technology is renowned for both its extensive B.Tech programme and its emphasis on innovation and research. The college is well-known for its extensive extracurricular and academic offerings, diverse student body, and industrial partnerships.

It's crucial to compare the two schools taking into account aspects like the general learning environment, campus amenities, industry contacts, teacher expertise, and infrastructure. The particular engineering specialties provided, the school's accreditation status, and the general campus atmosphere should all be taken into account by new applicants.

It is a very good college to enjoy and the infrastructure is also good.
Placements: Almost 75% of students are already placed. The average salary package offered is 4 LPA. Capgemini and Accenture hired the highest number of students from all companies that visited our campus for placements. Only 5% of students got internships in many companies. A software engineer role is offered as we are from a computer science background.
Infrastructure: We have a very good infrastructure. Labs are available to practice coding and write exams. It has a full Wi-Fi network if needed. The library provides books as per our needs. It also has a good playground. We go for sports competitions outside campus and I am a sports coordinator.
Faculty: Teachers are very well-qualified and good. They are very helpful for us in academics and outside too. The course curriculum helps us to gain good knowledge to get a good job in well-recognised companies. Exams are okay for students to attend and pass the semester.
Other: Events are well-organised and are good in all aspects.

Learning and life at college.
Placements: Almost 90% of students get placed in my course. The highest salary package offered in my college is 10 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is around 4 LPA. One student got an internship at Google. Recruiting companies are TCS, Amazon, etc.
Infrastructure: We have labs in every block. The Jewel Lab in my college was recently constructed. The infrastructure is more beautiful and classy. Wi-Fi is good in the college. There is no Wi-Fi in hostel rooms. The food in the mess is also good.
Faculty: Teachers are well-educated and highly knowledgeable. The teaching in my college is also good. The course makes students industry-ready. It is relevant The difficulty level of semester exams is medium. The pass percentage is 90% in my college.
Other: I preferred this course because I have a great interest towards coding. I joined this course to learn coding.

Absolutely dissatisfied because of placements and faculty.
Placements: Only 20% students are placed this year. Only 10 to 15 companies recruited from here. The highest package offered is 7Lpa and the lowest package is 2.2Lpa. Most of them were placed in TCS, Teleperformance, and DXC. Only 10% students got internship opportunities.
Infrastructure: In our department the infrastructure is bad. The department had no proper Wi-Fi and library contains only old books. The hostel ambiance is also not good. There is no proper outdoor space for students. The quality of food is the worst. Sometimes medical facilities are also not available.
Faculty: The teachers are not much interactive with the students and the teaching quality is not enough for students to get a position in the industry. The curriculum doesn't contains any internship or project. So the students are not ready for the industry. The pass percentage is 65%.

Good placements since 2017.
Placements: Students with the highest EAPCET ranks got placed in our course. Others by paying a donation can also be a part of our course. The highest salary package offered is 44.5 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 4.5 LPA. The average salary package offered in our course is 9 LPA. Around 20% of students got internships on and off campus at Adobe, Google and other companies. Developer might be the top role immediately after the completion of the course.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available 24/7. There are several labs that can be used anytime after the timings. Libraries can also be utilized till late at night with separate rooms for group discussions. Classrooms also have basic infrastructure with fans and air conditioning.
Faculty: A few teachers are highly talented and knowledgeable while others just read the syllabus from the PPTs. Overall, there is an average teaching quality. Our curriculum has changed this year with the affiliated JNTUK university. It does make students industry-ready due to the practical lab syllabus. Semester exams are not very hard. Last semester had almost 70% pass percentage.
Other: This campus is the best if you get a seat through EAPCET. However, paying a donation and taking our course is not worth it. There are better colleges with the same amount of money we spend here. I choose this course due to its placements. There would be many technical fests, hackathons, and non-technical fests.

Faculty: At Shri Vishnu Engineering College for Women in Bhimavaram, teachers are knowledgeable and give good guidance. Inspirational and good support for everyone in all aspects. Semester exams are conducted very strictly. They are caring but need to be loose somewhat.

It is the best place to explore new things.
Placements: I am from EEE, and I have been placed in TCS with 3.3 LPA. Even though I am from a non-IT background, I have secured a position in a big-name company, solely because my college provided specific training to crack the exams. Not only me, but many others from our college have also secured placements in big companies.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is great. The classrooms are spacious and of high quality. The labs are well-equipped and updated. As I am from the EEE branch, the labs are top-notch, meeting industry standards. The hostels are excellent, and the food in the mess is very tasty. The canteen food is also good but a little bit expensive.
Faculty: Being from the EEE branch, the syllabus is challenging, and time is short. If we had enough time for labs, we might find the semester exams easier. However, the good thing is that they provide good materials and references for reading. The exams are a little bit difficult, but if you are proficient in labs, you can pass them.
