Best Institute in the whole North Bengal, to crack you dream company.
Placements: Until now, 20% of the students in my batch have been placed. The highest package offered was 17 LPA, at Nutanix. The lowest package so far has been 3 LPA. The average package to date is 5.5 LPA. Top recruiting companies were P360, Nutanix, Microsoft, and IBM. 10-20% of students got internships at multiple companies like Sasken Technologies Ltd and P360. Top roles offered include SRE, SDE, and Associate Software Engineer.
Infrastructure: The course was pretty good. The infrastructure is pretty decent, with good teachers and free Wi-Fi across the entire campus. There is a garden for your free time, where you can relax with friends. The canteen food is very popular and stands out for its hygiene among North Bengal colleges.
Faculty: The teachers are very good and knowledgeable enough to teach you and help you get hired by your dream company. The course is excellent for preparing you for the industry. Semester exams are reasonably difficult. The pass percentage is 100%. Exam rooms have CCTV, so there is no chance of cheating during exams. Mobiles and smartwatches are not allowed.

The Bitter-Sweet Diaries.
Placements: 70% plus students get placed every year. The highest package is 51 LPA by Microsoft and the lowest can be 8 LPA. Amazon, Microsoft, Cognizant, Dell, McAfee, TCS, Intel, etc. The college doesn't restrict us much with internships; we can apply on our own. Roles are Software Engineer, Product Manager, and Developer.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available everywhere. The classrooms are spacious but lack smart classes. The library is big and has a separate reading section and book bank with a variety of books. There are 4 cafeterias available on campus, which have affordable, hygienic food that's also good in taste.
Faculty: The teachers are friendly, highly qualified, and have 10 plus years of experience. The course curriculum is given to us at the start of the semester, and teachers do their best to help us through it. The college also provides special soft skills classes to further prepare us for the industry. It also has special project-based training every semester with certification. Each semester has 4 continuous assessments, each worth 25 marks. The exams are really challenging and have strict invigilation with CCTVs.

College is satisfactory. Canteen is pleasent.
Placements: Around 30-40% students were placed in campus. The highest package was of 34LPA and the lowest was 2.8 LPA and average is 3.8-6 LPA. Top recruiting companies for this year was P360 otherwise wipro, cognizant, accenture are the top companies. Students get internship is very less like 1-3% in like Microsoft and other companies like that. Top role offered is SDE.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi available but speed is very minimal. Labs are quiet adequate, classrooms are not that good. Library is very large and full of books. Hostel not available from 2020 onwards so I can't say anything about that. Canteen is very good. Pricing is very less comapred to outside restaurants.
Faculty: Teachers are quiet helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. Some teachers teach very well but some just come and go on their own without understanding students requirements. Course curriculum is not that great I would say and does not makes student Industry ready. Students need to develop skills by their own. Semester exams are very difficult. Passing percentage for all subject nearly 20-30%. Most of the student gets one or two backlogs except few one.
Other: I got this college from WBJEE so I chose this. The best thing about my course is that its a AI integrated course so we can keep ourselves up to date with AI and Technology. This course could be even better if industry experts teaches us and mandatory Internships present with technical and practical AI oriented skills. Events are not that regular and nor very enjoyable like other colleges. Campus surrounding is full of grrenary and government scholarship is provided for 60% getting students.

Best college in the Darjeeling district.
Placements: Talking about the placement scenario last year from B.tech batch, 80% of the students were placed in the top IT companies. The highest package received was 50 LPA and one of the students was in the space program of Isro, and one of the students is working for the Elon Musk giant company Tesla as an engineer. The college provides internships to the students in the third year so that they can get industry-like experience.
Infrastructure: The location of the college is very beautiful, surrounded by the huge tea gardens and hills. We have a nice campus along with the best canteen and hill view of Kurseong and Darjeeling from the college terrace. The food in the canteen is so delicious and we have nice auditorium for the college functions.
Faculty: The teachers are very well behaved and always motivate students to score high and be good engineers in life. Some of the teachers are from IIT; they share their experience with students to help them excel in the future. The semester exams are really good; those who study well can only pass the exams. The level is like that of NIT colleges
Other: I chose this college due to the minimum fees and the fact that it provides a good education In that minimum amount, students can apply for loan to study and the college really helps the needy. Along with that, the college has a vast academic career and many students are working in the top IT companies.

Good infrastructure and college.
Placements: The placement record at this college is about 60-70%. The highest salary offered was about Rs. 55 lakhs per annum, and the lowest was about Rs. 2-3 lakhs per annum. The companies that recruited students included Microsoft, TCS, and Oracle. The roles offered included frontend software engineer and web developer. The college also has an ongoing internship program that includes both paid and free internships.
Infrastructure: There is no hostel facility available on the campus, and I don't know if it will be available in the future. However, wifi is available, so that's something. If you are looking for a hostel, you will need to find a place to stay off-campus.
Faculty: The exams at this college are very strict, and full seriousness is observed during the exams. There are cameras installed all over the classroom, and a person observes everything and every movement of the students during the exams. A student can't even look away from his or her paper.
Other: I decided to attend this college because it was located in my hometown, which was convenient for me. However, I later found a better option for completing my higher graduation studies.

Good infrastructure and environment for study of the technical department.
Placements: Placement for the B.Tech department is very good up to 15-18 LPA yearly. But for management, it's very less, especially for the HR and finance major students. Only technical department-related students will get a good scope to enhance their career growth and knowledge.
Infrastructure: The classroom facilities are very good, even the environment, and the teachers are very supportive and helpful. The department organized intra-curriculum activities for engagement of the students, such as brandemonium, management day plan, and business executive plan.
Faculty: Semester final exams are not so strict, but the environment is good. Everything is related to the course topic and subject. Before each final semester exam, CA exams were taken by the respective department faculty members 4 times. 10% of each exam was added to the final semester exam.
Other: Fests were organized during the month of May or June .

Q:   Does Siliguri Institute of Technology give 100% scholarship for B.Tech?

A:

Scholarships are provided to deserving students at the Siliguri Institute of Technology (SIT) based on their merit; nonetheless, B.Tech programmes do not attract a 100% scholarship. Nevertheless, where there is significant academic performance from students within the B.Tech field, they are able to take advantage of extensive scholarships whose values range from 50% to 90% percent fee reduction. The amount awarded by way of scholarship depends on numerous factors including entrance examinations ranking or marks obtained in intermediate examination or even family income status. Additionally, SIT gives out scholarships to pupils belonging to weak economic backgrounds among other categories i.e. sports quota and so forth. Despite lacking any guarantee for a completely free education, exceptionally gifted students will receive wonderful help from finances required to continue with their training. Students should contact the admissions office for the latest information on scholarships and eligibility requirements.

A:

For most people, Siliguri Institute of Technology (SIT) is a second-rank engineering college. It has good reputation but hasn’t managed to be counted among the topmost colleges in India.

Tier 1 colleges typically mean those institutions with premier status such as IITs, NITs and some highly ranked private institutions; students who get admitted to these schools are usually high achievers and have access to good resources, professors and placement opportunities.

SIT on the other hand is one of the oldest private colleges with an impressive standing in Eastern India. There is also a good quality education offered by this institution, decent infrastructure and respectable placements. But compared to Tier 1 colleges, it may not match when it comes to research output like publications in reputable journals or professors’ level of expertise.
