Q:   How effective is the placement cell for B.E. / B.Tech courses at SVCE Tirupati?

    A:
    {Source: B.E. / B.Tech students & alumni}

Effectiveness of Placement Cell for B.E./B.Tech Courses at SVCE Tirupati

Here's an analysis of the effectiveness of the placement cell for B.E./B.Tech courses at Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering (SVCE) Tirupati:

    * Placement Opportunities: The placement cell coordinates well with corporate companies to provide moderate to good placement opportunities to students. Well-known companies like HCL, MindTree, Nasdaq, Capgemini, Infosys, IBM, and others visit the campus for placements. (Source: Multiple reviews)
    * Placement Rate: According to students, almost 80% of seniors get placed through campus placements, and around 30-40% of students get placed from every stream. (Sources: Reviews 12 and 23)
    * the highest Salary Package: The highest salary package offered was approximately INR6.5 Lacs per annum, while the lowest was around INR3.5 Lacs per annum. (Source: Review 35)
    * Training Programs: The college provides campus recruitment training programs to equip students with necessary skills to crack interviews. (Source: Review 16)
    * Companies Visiting Campus: Reputed companies like Cognizant, TCS, Tech Mahindra, Amazon, and many others visit the college for placements, hiring over 1000 students. (Sources: Reviews 27 and 33)

While the placement cell seems to be moderately effective, there are some limitations mentioned by students, such as:

    * Limited placements for non-software streams like Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE), Civil, and Mechanical.
    * Some faculty members may not have much knowledge of the industry, which affects the relevance of the curriculum. (Sources: Reviews 29 and 32)

Overall, the placement cell at SVCE Tirupati appears to offer decent placement opportunities, with a relatively high placement rate and attractive salary packages. However, there is scope for improvement in terms of providing equal opportunities across all streams and enhancing faculty-industry connections.

This college is good. You'll score very well, and the faculty is qualified, with a good environment.
Placements: It's good; at least other country or international students are in our college. The package is like 150,000, mainly with companies like Amazon, Flipkart, etc. for placements. In our college, internships are available to at least 30-40% of students. All these cases are in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Mechanical, and Civil.
Infrastructure: Faculty is good. All the faculty help us to learn new things. Department 5 is a good classroom with good Wi-Fi, computers, liberty, etc. The message is good, but it's not about that. It's okay about the food. It's a very well-manned place where you can study and enjoy with your friends.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and new. They are good, qualified, and teach how to take a placement and everything. From lower student to high-level student, they teach equally and go from equal way. There is only first-year stuff because you have to be cross, but by the second year it will be easy for you because they teach you what the logic you have to use there.
Other: By your interest, because due to interest, they teach you very well and help you cross the campus and take a placement.

The college environment is good, and everything in the college is excellent except the placement.
Placements: 30-35 percent of students were placed in our course as of now. The highest package is 12 LPA, the lowest is 3 LPA, and the average package offered in our course is 5 LPA. Accenture, Zoho, Wipro, Cognizant, TCS, etc., are some of the top recruiters. 20-30 percent of students got internships from our course at the Amararaja Batteries company. Roles offered include Software Developer, VLSI Designer, Software Engineer, Hardware Engineer, etc.
Infrastructure: The college has a wonderful view. The classrooms are good, there are many libraries in our college, and the labs are average. The network works very slowly except for the college Wi-Fi. The cafeteria provides quality food. Sports and games are encouraged, and you can participate in sports meets and university-level competitions as well.
Faculty: The faculty here are very knowledgeable. Their teaching skills are excellent. Electronics and Communication Engineering is a very relevant course. If you focus on your studies, you will be industry-ready. The semester exams are not so hard; they are average. The pass percentage is above 60 percent.
Other: I selected Electronics and Communication Engineering because I want to get into the hardware industry, like Apple, Samsung, etc. I want to improve the internship opportunities. The college conducts many events throughout the year. There are two main fests in our college: TECHSPARK and SPARK, where various events and celebrations take place, and participants from other colleges also join the events.

    I am satisfied with infrastructure.
Placements: Around 30% of students are placed in my course. The highest salary package offered is 10 LPA. The average salary package offered is 4 LPA and the lowest salary package offered is 2 LPA. Zoho, Tech Mahindra, and Google are the top recruiting companies for my course.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure available for my course or department include Wi-Fi and a library. But, there is no Wi-Fi in the college for students. The library is large and well-stocked with books. Hostel facilities include Wi-Fi access for all students except first-year students.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. It prepares students to be industry-ready. This course is undoubtedly relevant to the curriculum. Semester exams in my college are very difficult. The pass percentage for my semester exams is 79%.
Other: My brother suggested to take this course. Best aspects of my course include learning computer operations.

Good atmosphere and infrastructure, but room for improvement in placements and other facilities.
Placements: In my batch of CSE, only some people got placed. The highest package was around 12 LPA by IBM women hiring. The lowest was around 1 LPA. Companies like Accenture and Capgemini came multiple times but only had taken women candidates. Remaining people had to take some course again and some got placed with an average of 3 LPA.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure is commendable. For CSE, there were well-equipped labs, projectors in class and a library with a collection of books and resources. WI-FI was available but had a limit of 3 MB and was extremely slow. The hostels were not good though, most people prefer to take a PG outside but many women had to stay there for some reasons known best to them. We also had a cafeteria, canteen, stationery shop, sports room, auditorium, and seminar halls on campus. However, facilities can be made even better.
Faculty: Most of the faculty were qualified and helpful, with strong knowledge of their subjects. The curriculum was relevant, particularly with recent updates and included courses on AI and Data Science. Exams were moderately challenging, with around a 90% pass rate.
Other: I chose this course because of the growing demand for CSE professionals. The classes, events, and pre-placement training were some of the best aspects. However, I feel the placements could have been better and the campus could invest more in WI-FI and other facilities.

Placements are being good. It is not about the college, it is only about your skills.
Placements: Placements are going well. It is not about the college; it is only about your skills that take into the placements. Companies like Capgemini, TCS, Zoho, etc., will visit our campus. And the people will be selected according to their skills and with packages of 3.5, 4, 6, and 10 LPA.
Infrastructure: College facilities and infrastructure are very attractive and good. Everything, including labs, classrooms, and the library, will be there. Coming to girls hostel facilities is good and safe, but the payment is very high. Mess, canteen, and medical facilities are all good.
Faculty: Faculty is very cooperative with us. They stay friendly with students and support them in all the domains. Teaching quality is also good. Semester exams are conducted in a medium, not that easy or tough. One can easily pass the semester exams. Keep learning and gain your skills to be ready.

    Balanced Experience: better (not worse).
Placements: 50 percent of people are getting placed. The highest salary offered is 12 LPA, the lowest is 3 LPA, and the average is 8 LPA. Wipro, Zoho, HCL, Cognizant, IBM, and Tech Mahindra are the top companies recruiting. 10 percent of students got internships in MSG Global Companies and IIT Tirupati. The top roles offered are Project Manager, Testing and Debugging, and Software Developer.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi facility is not bad in labs. Labs are better used for programming. CS is good. The library is a really beautiful and peaceful place that attracts students to study for a lot of time. Classrooms are clean and spacious. The quality is good about 70 percent of the time. But sometimes they cook really poorly. The canteen food is okay to eat as we pay separately for it. Medical facilities are not bad, but they do not have enough equipment for some of the worst injuries. Sports and games are really going well. We are going for national and level competitions and have won many rewards. Our college has won 90 percent of the rewards wherever they have attended for sports meets.
Faculty: 50 percent of teachers are really knowledgeable, but in the other 30 percent, they are just in the beginning stage of teaching. 20 percent have poor subject knowledge. Yes, this makes the students industry-ready. Semester exams will be at a moderate level, and the pass percentage is 80 percent.
Other: I chose AIML in SVCE, Tirupati because I was interested in evolving with new technologies. There will be lots of opportunities in the Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning field (including Data Science) in the future. Recruiting better faculty with good knowledge would be beneficial. Improving collaborations in placements is essential. The events are really fantastic. On April 23 and 24, 2024, a park event was conducted, which was fabulous. Many more events like Ample, Women's Day, etc., are also being organized.
