Frequently Asked Questions

Q:   Is it worth pursuing B.E. / B.Tech at Ujjain Engineering College?

A:
{Source: B.E. / B.Tech students & alumni}

Pursuing BE/BTech at Ujjain Engineering College - Is it Worth it?

Here's a summary of what current students and alumni have to say:

Pros:

* Good faculty members, many of whom are Ph.D. holders from reputed institutions
* Average placement record, with around 50-60% of students getting placed
* Low fee structure, with hostel rent starting from INR1,500 per year
* Decent infrastructure, with Wi-Fi availability and good libraries
* Opportunities for internships and projects

Cons:

* Infrastructure is outdated, with old buildings and limited amenities
* Limited placements for core branches, except for CSE and ECE
* Practical exposure is lacking, with focus more on theoretical knowledge
* Faculty members may not be very supportive or motivating
* Limited extracurricular activities and sports facilities

Campus Life:

* Hostel facilities are basic, with limited amenities and old infrastructure
* Food options are limited, with students preferring to cook their own meals
* Cultural events and festivals are occasional, with a focus on individual departments
* Social life is relatively quiet, with limited interaction between batches

Career Prospects:

* Average salaries range from INR3-6 Lacs per annum
* Top companies visiting the campus include TCS, Wipro, Infosys, and others
* Core branches struggle to find placements, except for CSE and ECE
* Internships are available, but students must seek them out themselves

Overall, while Ujjain Engineering College offers some positive aspects, such as good faculty and affordable fees, it falls short in areas like infrastructure, practical exposure, and career prospects. Students seeking a more modern educational experience may want to explore alternative options. However, for those willing to adapt to the existing conditions, the college can offer a solid foundation for a successful career.

Q:   What to do after JEE Main session 2 result?

A:

Candidates preparing for IITs are only required to appear for the JEE Advanced entrance exam after qualifying JEE Main. Students who who secure above the 98th percentile in JEE Main 2024 Session 2 should start preparing for JEE Advanced 2025 immediately. Those who score between 95th and 98th percentile should focus on improving their JEE Main score by taking multiple mock tests and practicing previous year's question papers. By analysing their strengths and weaknesses, candidates can identify their areas of proficiency and topics where they need improvement. If they can achieve full marks in their practice sessions, they can start preparing for JEE Advanced. However, if they cannot score full marks, it is recommended that they appear for multiple mock test series for more practice.

Q:   What is the expected JEE Main cutoff 2024?

I am dissatisfied because of the bad infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: About 60%of students were placed and normally people not placed by campus companies only off campus give higher packages. The highest is 20 LPA and the average is 3 LPA the lowest is 2LPA. The top companies which recruits us are Infosys. A maximum of the students got internships in local companies. The top role in my branch is Designing.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure of this college are not up to the mark. There is a specific space for the college which can be used for the modification in which hostel is old. It's like an old hunted house. Ceiling breaking from a lot of places. Food is very their same stuff daily to eat. Senior is very bad there they try to boss there.
Faculty: Faculty in the first year is okay. I think they qualified as per its government college. No, not this course is old don't make students ready. Semester exams are normal. It's not hard except sometimes Maths when there Patel sir. The pass percentage is also okay.
Other: I chose this college because I was getting an EC branch in some XYZ government college. I need better infrastructure, make boys hostel better. Increase main college building. Buy a new instrument. Events and fests are okay because those things are under control in the 3rd 4th year. The surroundings are full of nature because the college area doesn't have a college on them. The scholarship made it so late after paying the fees. Extracurricular activity is not organised by the college 3rd 4th year organize also.

Review of Ujjain Engineering College.
Placements: In 2021, there was a much better placement scenario as compared to previous years. Few companies offered opportunities in the core and mostly in IT. The average salary package offered ranges from 3-4 LPA, and the highest salary package offered is 6 LPA. In 2021, companies like YASH Technologies, TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Jaro, Byjus, Zentech, etc., visit the campus for placements.
Infrastructure: The college and hostels are not in good shape. The front of the college looks good but as soon as you enter you will realise you are at a horror movie set. Some of the equipment in the lab are just for representation purpose as they are not in the condition to work.
Faculty: Faculty members are not that motivated towards teaching. They have ego problems, so you cannot cross-question them. Some of them even tell students to question them when they are in a good mood. The course curriculum is very irrelevant. But the semester exams are not that easy.

Absolutely dissatisfied because of its affordable fees. Best college in Ujjain.
Placements: 80% of students are placed in my college. The highest package is 22 lacs, the lowest is 2 lacs, and the average package is around 6 lacs. TCS and Wipro, along with chemical, electronics, and mechanical engineering courses, have the most placements. In this college, placement has different ways to be achieved, like in core, IT, and technical fields.
Infrastructure: In my college, facilities are not well maintained. The main building is too old and needs to be renovated or repaired. Wi-Fi is available everywhere in the college building, but the speed is very slow. Only first-year classrooms are well maintained and smart; other classrooms are not smart or well maintained, except for labs. The library is good and well maintained, with all facilities. My college canteen experience is the worst ever.
Faculty: In my college, all faculty members are talented and highly qualified, but they are not teaching in the right way, except for some teachers. Whether they help us depends on the teachers' mood. In this college, there are two mid-semester tests before the end-semester exam. During the mid-semester, teachers give written work as an assignment to students and make self-learning more challenging. In the end-semester exam, students need at least 22 out of 70 theory marks to pass.
Other: Our branch conducts event or fest named as ECO which is full of fun and it is enjoyable.

I am absolutely satisfied with the college.
Placements: In our Ujjain Engineering College, 53% of students get placed. It can vary sometimes. The highest package offered is 10 LPA, and the average package is 3-4 LPA, and the lowest package is 1 LPA. Top companies are Infosys, TCS, Wipro etc. We have to get internships on our own or go for off-campus internships.
Infrastructure: The college doesn't provide Wi-Fi for students. Labs are average. The classrooms are average. The library has all the books, but it is small. I do not live in the hostel, so I don't have any idea about the hostel.
Faculty: In our college, the teachers are very helpful, and they are well-qualified. They teach us very well. Semester exams are quite difficult. The teachers do not give marks easily, you have to study hard for it. The courses do not make you industry-ready, but you have to work hard for it, and then, you can get the opportunities.
Other: I got this college through MPDTE counselling. My course is electronics and communication engineering. I chose this course because I can go for both software and hardware companies.

I am satisfied with the standard of education and faculty members.
Placements: From our senior batch, 60% of the students got placed. The highest salary package offered is 10 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered is 4 LPA. TCS is the top recruiting company. Almost everyone got internships in various top companies of India like Wipro and TCS.
Infrastructure: Labs are good, but the building is not in good condition. Classrooms are average in infrastructure, but they are digital with new technologies. The hostel is not that good in infrastructure, but the mess food is average. Medical facilities are not good, and sports and games facilities are also average. In our course, labs are very good, and faculty members are the best.
Faculty: Faculty members are good, and they have good knowledge about the subject. Teaching quality is good. The course curriculum is relevant and very good to learn. Semester exams are very difficult, especially mathematics. The pass percentage depends on subjects individually.
Other: I have chosen this course because I want to do engineering, and it is the best course I got. I wish our college to improve its infrastructure. Our college conducts many activities like college fest, sports competitions and many extra co-curricular activities.
