Most of the mechanical students have to sit in the placement cell with the IT and computer science students.

A decent college for those who are looking out for a government college.
Placements: In our mechanical batch, only 10% of students got placed. The average package offered was 2-3 LPA. The highest package was 6 LPA. The lowest package was 2 LPA. Tech Mahindra was one of the top recruiting companies. About 20% of students got internships in companies like Mahindra and Infosys.
Infrastructure: Our college has good facilities with a proper lab, Wi-Fi and a very large library where you can study round the clock. Food in the hostel is very cheap and tasty. The hostel is very neat and clean. Every hostel has good medical facilities and a mess and canteen.
Faculty: Every teacher in my college was highly qualified and knowledgeable. Teaching quality was quite good but depends upon how quickly a student could grasp it. Our courses were very relevant for the industry and we have learnt many kinds of stuff related to making our industry ready.
Other: I choose this course because I was interested in mechanics and mechanics is pure practical knowledge and that's impressive. I wish there are more practical learning instead of completion of assignments.

Placements for tech branches are very good, and most of the students get more than 10 LPA packages.
Placements: The placements in our college are very good. Most of the students are placed. Students in tech branches like CS, IT, and ECE get good packages. The placement rate of tech branches is very good. Students of core branches did not get good packages. The placement rate of core branches is approximately 40%.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is not good. The buildings are too old. The campus is too small. But you get a good vibe from the college because the college is on the south campus of Punjab University, and you will get all the facilities such as AC Joshi library, gymnasium, swimming pool etc.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful and well qualified. Most of the teachers are alumni of IITs. There are many research opportunities in the college. The curriculum is relevant. The college also provides industrial training for students. The semester exams are not difficult.

UIET is an emerging college in India.
Placements: The placement record of the college is average. The statistics of the branches like CSE, IT, and ECE are good and are increasing day by day. Placements in core branches are not good.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure and labs of the campus are average. The hostel seats in the college are very few. The PU has a total of 8 boys' hostels and 9 girls' hostels, though the seats allocated to the UIET are not up to the mark. Some students have to look for a PG.
Faculty: The quality of education is good. Some of the professors are good, but some are not up to that mark. It may be because they are not explaining it up to that level. There are two minor exams and one major exam each semester. Each minor carries 30 marks.
Other: There is a festival at the college. The campus is crowded, but not so much. The campus area is very small and is about 8 to 10 acres.

Our college is good but the hostel facility is not good.
Placements: Placements are good in mechanical, and around 40-60% of students are placed in other branches like CSE, IT, and ECE. Placements are good in mechanical and electrical. Placements are very low, and the top recruiting companies are Google, Microsoft, Amazon, etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure for the mechanical branch is not good as compared of the CSE branch. Very few students get hostels i.e around 2-5%. Only 9 out of 80 students get hostels and rest of the students are waiting. There is no possibility or chance to get a hostel within 4 years also. Chandigarh is a very expensive city if students stay here monthly expenditure will be Rs 10,000 per month.
Faculty: Faculty members are not good but they are well qualified. They do not know how to make students understand, and teachers are well qualified but they do not teach well. Teachers are helpful and semester exams are tough. The examination system is good.
Other: The hostel allotment system is not good, and some teachers even do not know how to teach but about the fee. It is a good college.

Dissatisfied due to the infrastructure. But great teachers.
Placements: There are a lot fewer companies approaching our college if we compare to other branches like CS and IT. The average package is really small around 5 LPA.Deloitte, Tata Motors, Honda, Maruti, etc. There are no internships offered in the first year for students. Top roles offered to the seniors are the machine designers.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is really poor. There should be no expectations from this college. There are no particular grounds for any sports and the campus is small technical wise there are average facilities for the students. The hostel is provided to around 6-7 students from one branch so you can understand how cool is the campus.
Faculty: The professors are good and match up to expectations. They try to give real-life experience to the students and make the students industry-ready. Also, it's not that hard to pass a semester in this college. Also, almost every teacher is lenient in giving the attendance.
