Dream college for an engineer.
Placements: Placement in VNIT is decent—not that great, but not that low either. Eligibility criteria vary from company to company; there are no fixed criteria. The highest package offered is 64 LPA in CSE, and the lowest is around 4 LPA. The average package is around 11-12 LPA. Placement percentages vary from department to department; for CSE, it's around 95+%, and the average placement percentage would be around 80%. I have not opted for any internships till now. Internship opportunities are mainly available from the 3rd year of graduation. Many companies like Google, Amazon, Dshaw, JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, etc., do visit our college.
Infrastructure: The hostel fee for a semester is around 35-40K. In the first year, you will be given a room partner, and after that, you will be given a solo room. The registration process is very easy; you will get your hostel room the day you enter the college. To be very honest, the food is not that great—you will need to compromise. The best part about NITs is the college campus. VNIT is a lush green campus of around 250 acres. There will be a lot of events organized, like Freshers, Aarohii (cultural events), Axis (tech event), etc. The best event of VNIT Nagpur is the Institute Gathering (IG); it's exactly like the movie Chhichhore. The library is huge and open 24/7, with books for each year and department readily available. Every sports field is available: basketball, cricket, football, badminton court, etc.
Faculty: Faculty members are highly qualified and have great teaching methods. However, the college faculty are a little strict in terms of academics. They won't spoon-feed you the way your coaching teachers used to do. So, there will be mainly two major exams each semester: the semester exam and the end-semester exam, along with various quizzes and assignments. To be honest, college exams are tough, and correction patterns are even more difficult; they will hardly give marks. The course curriculum is well-designed and will make you industry-ready. You can easily get a loan from college banks. The fee structure is as follows: For General/EWS/OBC - 70K (tuition fee) and 35K (hostel fee); SC/ST - no tuition fee, but the hostel fee applies. Regarding examinations, we have a mid-semester examination and a semester examination.

Very good college: VNIT Nagpur.
Placements: College placements are good. Different departments have different placement statistics, like CSE, which has an average placement of around 15 lakh and above. The college provides placement in your 4th year of engineering. College average placement is about 7-8 lakhs. The highest package is 68 lpa of CSE/ECE. Placement % of top branches are almost 95% but for lower branches its like around 75–80%. I don't have exact information regarding the companies but I know companies like J.P. Morgan, De Shaw, Goldman Sachs, Amazon, Flipkart, etc. Top MS students do visit our college. The exact information would be in the training and placement cell. People do get internships as well as PPOs (pre-placement offer).
Infrastructure: The campus is very beautiful, with over 250 acres of area covered with a lush green campus. College is very diverse, as people from different parts of the country come to study. There are two major festivals: Arohi (cultural festival) and AXIS (technical festival); the most important events are INSTITUTE GATHERING (IG) and DEPARTMENT GATHERING (DG). IG mainly focused on sports events and DG is for the students of tier to department to interact with each other. Hostel facilities are decent. In the first year, in one room, two people will live; after that, next year, solo rooms will be given to you. First, you will have an hour at 8 pm. You cant go outside the hostel after 8pm. From 2nd year, there is no in-time problem for boys but girls do have in-time, but its extended, like 11pm. To be very honest, the mess was kind of bad—not even decent food. I really didn't like food part.
Faculty: The college curriculum is industry relevant and it really helps students develop the skills that industry demands. It covers a wide range of core and elective subjects, which helps students enhance their fundamental knowledge. It places more emphasis on research projects, internship and collaboration with industry organizations. The frequency of exams is okay: one midterm and one endterm in four months. The difficult level should be lowered, as the papers are really tough and there are no gaps between the exams. The course is mainly based on the GATE exam syllabus. The faculty are specialists in their own areas. They support students in their desired research area and also give guidance about industries they know about.

Very good college: dream college for many.
Placements: The placements are decent; however, with the recent recession, it is harder to compare different universities. Students are still placed well with good packages, even if the rate is not as high as expected. Professors provide many research opportunities, and there is a strong alumni network. Fourth-year college students become eligible for placement. The highest package is usually 40 lakhs, and the average package is 10 lakhs. Approximately 90 percent of students get placed. I am considering higher studies and a Ph.D. Placements are offered by more than 120 companies from both the public and private sectors, such as CTI, J.P. Morgan, DE Shaw, Nestle, Goldman Sachs, and HPCL. Apart from placements, VNIT offers summer internships to B.Tech and M.Tech students. The highest package went to 38 lakhs, the lowest was 13 lakhs, and the average is 14.8 lakhs. My package is 17.8 lakhs. There is a 100% placement rate since it's an NIT.
Infrastructure: Axis VNIT is conducted every year in August. The library books are well-stocked, with separate sections for junior and senior college. Almost all classrooms, the library, and the canteen have free Wi-Fi, excellent furniture, and air conditioning. There are inverters for backup as well. There is a specific period allocated for sports and fitness where students can play soccer, cricket, rugby, basketball, throwball, etc. There are also games like table tennis inside the campus. The hostel facilities include an almirah, foldable study table, mattress, cushion, chair, and a bed. The quality and quantity of food are excellent, with special treats on Sundays and occasions. The registration process is simple; you only need to submit your identity document, and then you are provided with an ID card. There is a 12.5% annual fee hike. There are many scholarship programs for students with an annual income of less than 2 lakhs, and there is also a government scholarship program called Mahadbt. During internships and research, students are paid up to a stipend of 30k per annum.
Faculty: I chose Computer Science Engineering because it's my passion. I am good at coding and ethical hacking, and I have a prime interest in this subject. There are 20-25 students in a class, and the teachers are highly experienced with deep knowledge of their subjects. Some teachers are retired IITians, and some are gold medalists. All teachers have qualified for NET, SET, and PET examinations. They take us to research labs, help us with practicals, and organize field visits. Weekly tests and prerequisites are conducted before semester examinations.

Also, the mess food was good enough. Overall, there is good infrastructure in college and many facilities like sports fields, canteen, etc.

Review of VNIT Nagpur - Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology.
Placements: Students get placements in the 3rd year 5th semester and 6th semester. Placement sections will be held in the 5th and 6th semesters. Around 131 companies like Google, DE Shaw, Oracle, Goldman Sachs, Wells Fargo, Citi India, Siemens, BNY Mellon, JP Morgan, etc., visit our college. Around 90% of CSE students and 86% of ECE students got placed in our college. You have to maintain around 7 - 7.5 CGPA to get internships. For some companies, it is around 8 - 8.5 LPA. There will be 3-4 rounds before getting internships. Our college conducts hackathons, group discussions, HR rounds, etc. We will get projects in the 3rd year. They will assign us with 1 project which we have to discuss about what to do.
Infrastructure: Our college provides free Wi-Fi on the whole campus. The library is good. It has 4 floors. It has a computer center. All equipment for practical experience is available in our labs. The most important one is the sports ground. We have a very maintained sports ground with a separate football ground, cricket ground, volleyball ground, basketball court, indoor badminton court, table tennis court, yoga court, and lawn tennis courts. Hostels are very planned and are worth living in. The cost is very high. It is around Rs. 34,000 per semester. The hostel has a mess. It provides 4 meals per day which include breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner.
Faculty: The course curriculum at VNIT is generally well-structured. It offers a strong foundation in engineering and technology with a focus on core subjects, practical applications, and research. The curriculum is designed to align with industry standards, ensuring that students acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in their respective fields. Coming to real-world applications and academic preparation, it is designed to prepare students for both professional careers and further academic pursuits. The balance between theoretical knowledge and practical skills is one of the strengths of the program. The curriculum is robust. There are areas where improvement could be made like industry integration, soft skills development, and interdisciplinary approach. Exams are challenging. They reflect the right of the course. They are designed not just to test learning but to assess students' understanding of concepts.

Hi Ashwini, It is very difficult and chances are very low with this rank. I will suggest you to go for private colleges like Amity University, Sharda University, Lovely Professional University, Galgotia University, LNCT Bhopal, etc. Getting any government colleges with this score is difficult.
