Frequently Asked Questions

Q:   Is BTech at ZHCET better than Jamia Millia Islamia?

A:

Benefits of ZHCET:

Potentially lower costs: ZHCET may have cheaper costs than JMI.
Focus on Research (Possible): According to some sources, ZHCET may place more of a focus on research, which may be advantageous for students who want to pursue postsecondary education.

Brief review on AMU University’s Polytechnic campus.
Placements: Diploma in engineering’s placements are good enough as the name of AMU attracts the companies’ attention but they offer really low packages which are unable to meet today’s expenses and lifestyle. The class volume is also decent having 45 students arranged in each batch. The faculty is really cooperative with the students as well.
Infrastructure: Our department is the best which I found as I was seeking colleges. The college has standard labs present with all the expensive equipments available in a good number so that all the students can fairly use them and learn. There are smart classrooms present for learning along with a library facility being available.
Faculty: There are 3 stages in marks distributed in all the 3 years or 6 semesters. The mid semester exams consists of 25 numbers and are also for scoring good marks. 15 marks will be given on the basis of attendance, assignments and copies. At last, the end semester exam consists of 60 marks.

Absolutely satisfied with the campus and faculty.
Placements: Approximately 50 percent of students get placed every year. The highest package was 7 LPA and the lowest package was 2 LPA. The top recruiting companies are LnT, Birla and a few more small companies that need freshers at a lower salary. All the students get internships on the basis of their performance.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is very good. The department is built in a very unique and stylish manner. The classrooms are good and the library is also available for the students. The hostel is also very good, with all the facilities like a mess and Wi-Fi also available.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful and qualified in their respective fields. All of them are very good-natured, supportive of the students and help us in every situation. The difficult level of exams is very tough. If you are a good student, only then can you achieve a good percentage.
Other: I chose this course because I always want to become a civil engineer and the best thing about this course is that you can directly get a job after it. The scholarships are available for the students, and the campus connects us to the whole city.

My life as an AMU engineering student.
Placements: In our course, which is a diploma in civil engineering, there are some big companies interested in us. Every year, 5–10 companies come for placement and select over 30 people from each batch. A batch contains a total of 90 students, some of whom opt for higher studies.
Infrastructure: Aligarh Muslim University has a very low fee and hostel fee. Our fees for the first year are INR 20,000, while those for the second and third years are INR 7,000, inclusive of hostel fees. In hostels, we get rooms with Wi-Fi. Basketball court, lawn tennis court, cricket pitch, football ground, reading room, common room, etc. are there.
Faculty: The professors are very kind and generous towards the students, and each and every faculty member treats students with love and patience. At the start of the semester, we get our semester schedule (syllabus time table, etc.). The semester is very simple; we get 25 points in the middle of the semester, 15 points for assignments, and 60 points at the end of the semester.
Other: The life at the AMU campus is something I desired in my school life; here I get full freedom, love and an enjoyable environment. I am really grateful to be a part of this beautiful university.
