NIFT Courses - Admission process
Admission to UG and PG design courses at the NIFTs is conducted in the following sequence:
- Start of online application - Online applications for NIFT opens typically in November or December. Eligible candidates need to duly fill out and submit the form.
- Download admit cards and appear in NIFT written exams - The written exams comprise the CAT and GAT. While GAT is common across all programs, the CAT paper is only mandatory for B.Des and M.Des applicants.
- Declaration of written exam results - The results of the NIFT written exams will be used to shortlist candidates for a Situation Test/Personal Interview.
- Conduct of Situation Test/ Personal Interview - Eligible candidates will have to appear in this round at their allotted exam centers.
- Declaration of FINAL merit lists - The final merit list of NIFT will be prepared by considering the performance of the candidate in the written exams and Situation Test /Personal Interview.
- Counseling and seat allotment - The allotment of seats will be done on the basis of the NIFT merit rank of the candidate, and the course and NIFT campus opted for by the candidate.
