The evaluation of Part-B will be done manually by at least two expert evaluators separately and independently. Following is the scheme of evaluation for each question in Part-B. If the difference in marks awarded by the two evaluators 10 marks, the answer sheet of Part-B will be evaluated by a third expert examiner (and so on until the difference of marks 10 after several evaluations, a moderator will be invited to examine the answers. If the difference in marks between the moderator and either of the examiners is the same, then the higher average will be considered for calculating the score.

Is there reservation of seats for General-EWS in UCEED 2025?

As per the information given in the UCEED 2025 information brochure, 10% of seats in every course will be reserved for Gen-EWS category. UCEED Entrance Exam 2025 - IIT Bombay released admit cards for UCEED 2025 on January 3, 2025 (1 pm). The direct link to download the CEED 2025 admit card is provided below.

Download the admit card using your email ID and password.

Note that any changes in the admit card (such as category of application) is permitted until 9 January 2025, 5:00 pm (IST). Any request after the said date will not be entertained.

On exam day, bring the admit card and a valid ID proof. Also, report to the UCEED 2025 exam centre as per the reporting time mentioned in the admit card. Note that latecomers may not be allowed entry inside the exam center.

IIT Bombay will conduct the UCEED 2025 exam on January 19, 2025.

The exam will have TWO parts.

The offline-based Part A will include 57 questions (NAT, MSQ, and MCQ-type questions will be asked); the test duration for Part A will be 2 hours. Meanwhile, Part B will be a 1-hour test and include two questions - 1) sketching-based, and 2) design aptitude-based question.

What is UCEED Exam?

The Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED) is a national-level exam conducted by IIT Bombay for admission to the BDes program at the following institutes: IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, and IIITDM Jabalpur.

Admission is based on UCEED merit.

To participate in UCEED counseling, candidates must have been issued a UCEED merit rank. IIT Bombay will conduct the counseling as a Joint Seat Allotment Process.

UCEED scores are also used by result-sharing institutes.

However, the result-sharing institutes will not participate in the Joint Seat Allotment Process. Further, result-sharing institutes will only fill some of the available seats based on UCEED scores.

The UCEED exam is conducted once every year, typically in January.

In the previous edition of the exam, more than 15,000 candidates registered for the exam, out of which around 13,500 candidates appeared in the exam.

UCEED Admit Card 2025

Admit cards for UCEED 2025 were released on January 3, 2025.

The admit card will be issued to all candidates who duly complete the application process. The candidate has to download the admit card from the UCEED - IIT Bombay admission portal.

The admit card will contain details like the date and time of the UCEED 2025 exam, the name and address of the exam center, exam timings, including reporting time, and exam-day guidelines.

On the day of the exam, candidates had to bring with them a valid photo ID proof along with the admit card.

Note that no candidate will be allowed to take the exam without the admit card.

UCEED Syllabus 2025

IIT Bombay revised the UCEED syllabus in the previous edition of the entrance exam.

Here are the key points about the UCEED syllabus 2025:

The UCEED 2025 question paper has two parts - Part A and Part B
Part A will be administered through a computer-based test and will consist of three sections (NAT, MSQ, and MCQ).
Part B will now have TWO questions: one on Drawing and the other on Design aptitude. The question in Part B will be displayed on the computer screen and the answer has to be written/drawn in the answer book provided by the invigilator only.
The duration for A will be 120 minutes, while Part B will be 60 min.

Part A will have questions on the following topics:

Visualization and spatial reasoning: Ability to visualize and transform 2D shapes and 3D objects and their spatial relationships.
Practical and scientific knowledge: Know-how of scientific principles and everyday objects.
Observation and design sensitivity: The capacity to detect concealed properties in daily life and think critically about them. Attention to detail, classification, analysis, inference, and prediction.
Environment and society: General awareness of environmental, social, and cultural connections with design.
Analytical and logical reasoning: Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative information.
Language: Proficiency in reading and comprehending Standard English.
Creativity: Grasp of verbal and non-verbal analogies, metaphors, signs, and symbols.

Part B will have questions on the following topics:

Drawing: Ability to draw products, people, or scenes in proportion with good line quality, composition, proportion, perspective, and shading.
Design aptitude: Capability to practically and appropriately respond to problems/situations with ingenuity and empathy.

Note: The topics listed above are exhaustive and indicative of the nature of the questions. However, the UCEED 2025 may not cover all the topics.

UCEED Exam Pattern 2025

The UCEED exam is divided into two parts - A and B.

As per the official exam pattern of UCEED 2025, Part B will include TWO questions; one on Drawing and the other on Design aptitude. The duration of Paper B will be 60 minutes. The question in Part B will be displayed on the computer screen and the answer has to be written/drawn in the answer book provided by the invigilator only.

Further, Part B will be evaluated only if the candidate qualifies Part A.

UCEED Application Form 2025

The application form for UCEED 2025 has closed.

Candidates who met the prescribed eligibility criteria for the B.Des program had to apply before the last date.

The candidate could apply for UCEED 2025 with regular and late fees.

The late application fee is INR 500.

How to fill out the UCEED application form

To get registered, the candidate had to follow these steps.

Online registration - Click on the registration link. You will be redirected to a registration form. Fill in details like a valid email ID and mobile number. On successful registration, an applicant account will be created.
Fill in the form - The application form will have sections like personal, academic, and contact details. Fill in all the sections. You will also be required to select THREE exam cities in the order of priority.
Upload documents - The candidate has to upload documents like a photograph, signature, date of birth proof, and qualifying exam certificates in the prescribed format.
Pay the application fee - The fee has to be paid in online mode. The application fee for the OPEN category is INR 4000, and INR 2000 for reserved category candidates.

UCEED Eligibility Criteria 2025

The candidate needs to meet the following conditions for admission to the B.Des program offered by the UCEED 2025 participating institutes.

UCEED qualification

The candidate must have qualified, or obtained a rank, in UCEED 2025.

Academic Qualification

The candidate should have passed all FIVE subjects in 10+2 or equivalent exam in 2024 or 2025,

Note: Students from ALL STREAMS (Science, Commerce, and Arts & Humanities) are eligible.

Who is not eligible:

Those who appeared for the first time in their qualifying examination in 2023 or earlier are NOT eligible.

UCEED 2025 Reservation Criteria

The category-wise reservation criteria for the B.Des course at participating colleges is given in the table below.

The step-wise UCEED 2025 admission process to the B.Des program at UCEED 2025 participating institutes is given below.

UCEED Participating Institutes 2025

There are FIVE participating institutes of UCEED 2025.

Each of these institutes offers the B.Des course, with admission to be conducted based on UCEED 2025 merit.

So, to be eligible for admission, the candidate needs to have secured a rank in the UCEED 2025 exam. IIT Bombay will conduct a Joint Seat Allotment process (or counseling) for shortlisted candidates.

UCEED Result-sharing Institutes 2025

A few other institutes will also use the scores of the UCEED 2025 exam in addition to the participating colleges.

These institutes, known as UCEED 2025 result-sharing institutes, will fill some of their undergraduate seats based on UCEED 2025 scores. Note that the remaining seats may be filled considering other entrance exams, including exams conducted by the institutes.

However, UCEED result-sharing institutes will not participate in the joint seat allotment process conducted by IIT Bombay.

UCEED Cut-off 2025

IIT Bombay will release cutoff marks for Part A on February 6, 2025. The cut-offs will be released in the form of mean and standard deviations.

Part B answer booklets will be evaluated only if the candidate meets Part cut-off marks. Also, all candidates who met the cut-off were shortlisted.

Key points related to UCEED 2025 cut-off marks for Part A

Part A cut-offs will be released category-wise.
Part B answer booklets of the candidate are evaluated only if he or she meets the cut-off.
Shortlisting of candidates: All candidates who meet the cut-off will be shortlisted.
The cut-off mark is calculated by using a specific formula
Ranking: ALL candidates who get shortlisted will be allocated a rank
Part B paper of candidates who fail to get shortlisted will not evaluated and they weren't assigned any ranks
IIT Bombay does not share the evaluated papers of Part B
The evaluation of Part B is done manually.

Release of UCEED 2025 admission cut-off

IIT Bombay will release the category-wise cut-off marks for admission to the B.vDes program. Candidates who meet the cut-off rank in their category are eligible for admission to the B.Des program for Round I.

UCEED Answer Key 2025

IIT Bombay will release the draft answer key of UCEED 2025 on January 21, 2025. The question paper for UCEED 2025 will be released alongside the answer key.

Here are a few key points related to the UCEED 2025 answer key:

The draft answer key will contain the official answers to questions asked in the entrance exam.
The candidate can use the keys to calculate probable scores.
The candidate will also be given the option to submit Objections against the draft answer key. Complaints have to be submitted through the candidate portal; comments or objections sent by mail or other modes will not be accepted.
It may be noted that the order of questions in the question paper may vary for each candidate, so they must use the Master Question Paper for uploading complaints/queries.
The responses of candidates for Part A - UCEED 2025 can be downloaded only till the declaration of exam results.

The final answer key of UCEED 2025 will be released after considering feedback from the candidate on January 29, 2025.

UCEED Results 2025

IIT Bombay will declare the results of UCEED 2024 on March 7, 2035. The results will be declared online at the UCEED 2025 admission portal.

To check the results, you will need your registered email ID and password.

UCEED 2025 scorecard will be available for download soon after exam results are declared.

How to check UCEED 2025 result

The result of UCEED 2025 will be declared online. Follow these steps to check your result.

Go to the UCEED 2025 admission portal and click on the result link
A log-in window will open
Enter your registered email ID and password
On successful log-in, the UCEED 2025 result will be displayed on the screen
Download and take a printout of the results.

The candidate needs to follow the same steps to download the scorecard. The UCEED 2025 scorecard is valid for one year from the date of issue.

The UCEED 2025 scorecard will contain the following details:

Part A marks
Category-wise qualifying marks
Candidate details, including, the name, roll number, photograph, and signature.
Note Part B marks, merit ranks, and UCEED 2024 scores will be available ONLY for shortlisted candidates.
