FDDI AIST is conducted by Footwear Design and Development Institute to offer admission to candidates in different UG and PG programmes offered by it.
FDDI AIST is a computer-based test conducted in both Hindi and English languages. The test is usually of two and a half hours duration wherein aspirants have to attempt a total of 150 multiple choice questions.
FDDI AIST paper is divided into four sections – Mathematics, General Science, English, and General Awareness. Aspirants have to attempt questions in each section in approximately 40 minutes.

How to apply for FDDI AIST 2017?
Eligible aspirants are required to fill the registration form in the online mode as per the steps mentioned below:
Step 1: Register Online
To start with, aspirants need to register on the official website of FDDI. For this, aspirants need to click the “Apply Online” link present on the Home page of FDDI under the “Admission” icon. On clicking the link, aspirants will be redirected to the registration page. Click “New User for Registration” icon on that page and aspirants will be redirected to a new page containing instructions related to application. Read all instructions mentioned on the page carefully and tick the checkbox present at the bottom of the page. Click the “Submit” button. On clicking the button, the New User Registration form will open on the screen.
Details to be filled on the form are as follows:
• Programme applied for: Here, the programme needs to be selected that a candidate is applying for from the dropdown menu (UG/ PG).
• Personal details: It requires filling all the personal details such as name, gender, date of birth, age, blood group, category (General/ SC/ ST/ OBC), nationality, email ID, and mobile number. Aspirants also need to mention their guardian’s name, guardian’s occupation, their relationship with the guardian, and family annual income.
• Industry sponsored: Aspirants need to specify whether his/her course is industry sponsored by selecting Yes/ No.
• Campus preference: Aspirants need to select five FDDI campuses from where they want to pursue a particular course from the dropdown list of campus cities.
• Address
• Educational qualification: Aspirants are required to fill their education details of Class X, XII, and graduation (if applicable). Details that need to be filled include subjects taken, roll number, duration of graduation/ Class X/ Class XII, name of university/ board, year of completion, and percentage scored. Apart from this, aspirants also need to specify their education status (Passed/ Result Awaited).
• Photo upload: Upload a passport size photograph which should not be greater than 140X160 (90Kb).
• Signature upload: Upload the signature. The file size of the signature should not be greater than 90X120 (30Kb).
Once all details are filled, click the “Submit” button. It may be noted that information provided in the registration form cannot be amended at a later stage. Therefore, before submitting the form, aspirants are recommended to ensure that all details filled are correct.
Step 2: Fill the Application Form
On submission of the form, a unique login ID and password will be generated and sent on the aspirant’s registered email ID and mobile number. Log in to the FDDI website as “Registered Candidate” by using the login ID and password.
• Select course: After logging in, aspirants need to fill the name of the course they are applying for in the application form.
Note: A candidate can apply for more than one course by paying for a single registration form. However, a candidate applying for a UG course cannot apply for PG course in the same form. Likewise, a candidate applying for a PG course cannot apply for UG course in the same form.
To apply for more than one course, aspirants need to write the course code in accordance to their course preference in the space provided on the form.
• Select the centre and date of exam: It requires selecting the preferred centre and date of exam from the dropdown list.
After these details are filled, click the “Submit” button. On clicking the button, candidates will be redirected to the payment gateway.
Step 3: Pay the Application Fee
Payment of registration fee can be made through the online mode only either by debit or credit card. The registration fee for FDDI AIST is Rs 500.
Note that after the successful payment of registration fee, a confirmation email and SMS will be sent on the candidate’s registered email ID and mobile number.
Step 4: Preview/ Print Application Form
In the final step, click on the “Preview” button to view filled and submitted application form. Also, take a print out of the form for future reference.
Note: The printer settings while taking the print out should be - Paper Size-A4, Mode-Portrait
The application process for FDDI AIST 2017 will now be complete.
