HITSCAT 2024: Result, Merit List, Counseling Date, Seat Allotment, Admission Process

The application form for HITSCAT 2024 is now closed. The application form opened in online mode on December 16, 2023; the last date to apply for the application form was May 13, 2024. The candidate needed to fill out the HITSCAT application form before the last date. Do go through the eligibility criteria before you apply.

The HITSCAT application form 2024 is for admission to B.Des, BBA, BMS, M.Com, and MBA courses. The candidate can select the programme of study at the time of filling out the application form.

Note that admission to the above courses will be based on HITSCAT merit rank.

The HITSCAT 2024 exam was conducted from May 20-21, 2024. On the day of the exam, the candidate had to bring with them the admit card and a valid photo ID proof. Note that without these documents, the candidate was not allowed to take the exam.

The HITSCAT 2025 admit card for will be released within a few days of the closure of the application form.

5. On successful log-in, you can download the admit card.

Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science (HITS) has released model question papers for the HITSCAT 2024 entrance exam. Candidates can download the model question papers pdf from this page.

The candidate can start solving sample papers very early on in their preparation. take for example, you can solve related questions after completing a chapter.

NIFT is one of the most important design entrance exams in the country.

It is also amongst the toughest and most competitive.

Yes, you need to bring a valid photo ID proof on exam day. Without the ID, the candidate will not be allowed inside the exam hall.

The id proof must be displayed when the invigilator asks for it.

You also need to bring the admit card and follow the exam guidelines.

No, the candidate is not allowed to carry electronic gadgets inside the exam hall.

Any candidate who is found in possession of such items may be disqualified. 

So, don’t carry such items inside the exam hall. Follow the guidelines issued by the exam conducting authority.

The exam officials will not release any draft answer key for HITSCAT 2025.

However, if it decides to release the answer key, the same will be updated here.

In case the draft key is released, it will contain details like the answer key code for each question.

The candidate will also be allowed to challenge the draft key in some cases.

Also, with no answer keys being released, their will be no option to challenge it as well.

The exam officice will directly release the exam results on its admission portal. You can check your results by logging into the result portal.

The HITSCAT 2025 results will be declared online at the admission portal of the institute. 

To check your results, you need to go to the HITSCAT 2025 portal and follow these steps:

1. Click on the result link

2. A log-in window will open

3. Enter your log-in credentials

4. On log-in, you can download the scorecard.

Download and take a printout of the scorecard.

The HITSCAT 2025 result will be released online. The scorecard will carry the following information.

• The name and roll number of the candidate

• Sectional score

• Overall score

• Merit rank

The scorecard will be available for download in pdf format. Download and take a printout.

To participate in the HITSCAT 2025 seat allotment process, the candidate must have qualified in the exam. The seat allotment to various design courses will be based on:

• The merit rank of the candidate in the entrance exam

• The seat intake for the applied program

• Options selected by the candidate

The HITSCAT 2025 scorecard will be valid for the current academic session only. So, using the scorecard, you will be able to get admission in the 2025-25 academic session. You can’t use the scorecard for admission in the next session.

If the candidate doesn’t accept the seat allocated to him or her, the HITSCAT 2025 allotment will be canceled. Also, the seat in that case will be allocated to the candidate next in the order of merit. So, it is the responsibility of the candidate to pay the seat-acceptance fee by the given deadline.

In the last few days leading up to the HITSCAT 2025 exam, follow these tips:

• Don’t start any new topics.

• If you start a new topic, it will only eat into the time that is left

• Also, it will not be easy to master the new topic in so little time.

• Do timely revision

• Solve sample papers

• Take mock tests

• Eat and stay healthy

The best HITSCAT 2025 books will have the following characteristics:

• They will be written as per the official syllabus

• Will contain few to no errors

• Will be written in layman's or easily understandable language

• These books will also have infographics to explain various concepts.

In a Design Aptitude Test, candidates are asked drawing, sketching and general reasoning questions. The candidate needs to prepare for each question type to get a good score in DAT.

On the day of the HITSCAT 2025 exam, follow these rules:

• Make sure that you are carrying the admit card and the ID proof

• Reach the exam centre on time

• Follow the exam guidelines mentioned in the admit card

• Inside the exam venue, follow the instructions of the invigilator.

Typically there is no option to edit the application form. So, you need to be careful when filling out the form.

Make sure that you are uploading the correct documents and as per the given format. Also, the entered data must be correct.

DAT entrance exam is considered to be moderate. IN NID DAT, more weightage is given to subjective, drawing related questions. Thus, candidates need to be extremely creative and have a clear understanding of their concepts when appearing for the DAT.

But note that difficulty level can also be subjective, as it may also depend on your level of preparation. For instance, if you prepare well, you may be able to solve even the so-called difficult questions easily.

The online application form for NIFT 2025 is OPEN with regular fees from November 22-January 6, 2025.

With late fees, applications will be accepted from Janaury 7-9, 2025.

The application will be available online at niftadmissions.in. The NTA will also release the detailed admission notification, including the eligibility criteria and information brochure.

Candidates who met the precribed eligibility criteria for their programme can fill out the NIFT 2025 application form before the last date.

Note that NIFT application form will be for admission to the B. Des, M.Des B.FTech M.FTech and MFM courses offered by participating colleges.

The written tests for the NIFT 2025 exam will be held on February 9, 2025. The detailed schedule has also been released.

The written tests will comprise a General Ability Test (GAT) and a Creative Ability Test (CAT). GAT is mandatory for all candidates, but CAT is only required for B. Des and M. Des candidates. 

The GAT test will be considered in a computer-based mode, whereas the CAT will be offline based. Note that scores of the written exams will be used to shortlist candidates for a Situation Test/ Personal Interview.

The NIFT exam is among the competitive and is also considered among the toughest. So, it is recommended that the candidate starts their exam preparation well in advance, say with around 1 years time in hand. Note that the NIFT exam has various components like written exam and Situation Test /Personal Interview. Candidates seeking admission to the B. Des and M.Des courses need to prepare for both the CAT and GAT. The CAT is a drawing-based exam, meaning the candidate will be evaluated on parameters like intuitive ability, power of observation in concept development, and design ability. Now unless the candidate is already well-versed, developing these skills will take time. So, it is prudent to start early. The same goes for the GAT.

NID application form 2025 opened on September 3, 2024. The application form is open online at the NID admission portal -admissions.nid.edu. Candidates who meet the program-specific eligibility criteria may apply before the last date.

The NID application form is for admission to the B. Des and M.Des courses offered by participating colleges. 

The last date to apply for NID DAT 2025 is December 6, 2024 (extended from December 3). The candidate can also edit the submitted application from December 4-9, 2024.

The NID DAT 2025 (Prelims) exam will be conducted on January 5, 2025.

The counseling of HITSCAT 2024 will be conducted from June 3-10, 2024. Candidates will be shortlisted for counseling based on their marks in the HITSCAT 2024 merit rank. 

As part of the counseling process, the information furnished by the candidate will be verified. Also, the allotment of seats will be as per the merit rank of the candidate in the HITSCAT exam.

The results of the HITSCAT 2024 exam were declared on May 24, 2024. The results have been declared in the form of a rank list, which is prepared on the basis of marks obtained by the candidate in the HITSCAT 2024 entrance exam.

The candidate can check their results by using their candidate credentials. The scores of the exam will be used to shortlist candidates for counseling.

The candidate needs to have passed 10+2 in any stream securing 50% marks. It is mandatory for the candidate to meet the prescribed criteria, or else he or she will not be offered admission. Note that all details entered by the candidate in the application form will be verified at the time of counseling. 

The National Institute of Design (NID) will conduct the DAT Prelims exam on January 5, 2025.

The B.Des exam will be held from 10 am - 1 pm; meanwhile, the M.Des exam will be held from 10 am - 12.30 am.

The DAT Prelims for the B.Des programme will be conducted in a paper-and-pencil/pen mode. The question paper may  incude both textual and visual questions. Other details like duration of the exam, marking scheme, etc. will be published in the DAT Prelims admit card.

The candidate needs to report for the exam at 8 am. Gates closing time is 9.30 am. 

The DAT Prelims exam for the M.Des programme will be conducted offline and include a mix of objective and subjective questions. The paper will have a total of 100 questions.
