The Jewellery Industry is no more restricted to women segment and even men are preferring to wear chains, bracelets and earrings. Also, the spike in luxury-spending of consumers has highlighted the scope of Jewellery Designing courses.
The expanding industry has laid emphasis on the future purview of the jewellery designing and more and more students, especially those having keen interest in stones, gems and other alloys, are pursuing these courses.
Jewellery Design Courses are undertaken by students, who want to make their career in the field of jewellery making. A student can pursue Jewellery Designing courses at Diploma, Certification, Undergraduate and Post-graduate levels. A Diploma is a one-year duration course, whereas, a Certification course can be completed in just a few weeks or months.
The students can undertake Bachelor of Design (BDes) and Master of Design (MDes) which are three-year and two-year professional courses respectively. Students can also opt BDes, which is divided into six semesters, after completing 12th standard. Similarly, MDes is a two-year programme which can be undertaken after completion of graduation in related fields. It is divided into four semesters.

Syllabus in Jewellery Designing
Students can enrol in specialised Jewellery Design programmes like the BDes in Jewellery Design, the MDes in Jewellery Design, the Diploma in Jewellery Design, besides a number of others certification programmes. In order to take admission in under-graduate courses, students must have scored 50 per cent average in 10+2.
