GATE Preparation Tips

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2024 will be conducted for all 30 subjects. GATE is the biggest online entrance exam for admissions to post-graduate engineering degree courses in Inda. So we advise all the candidates to use most of the time left. Below are some of the important factors that may be helpful in the GATE 2021 preparation.

Q:   How do I prepare for GATE 2023?

A:
Here are some tips that may help you stay confident while facing exams: Prepare well make sure you have covered all the syllabus and practice sample papers or past year question papers. Get enough sleep as Adequate sleep helps in retaining information and reducing stress. Identify stress triggers and practice stress-management techniques such as deep breathing, meditation, and yoga. Keep track of exam dates, and important topics, and make a revision plan. Focus on your strengths, and try to turn negative thoughts into positive ones. Take regular breaks to avoid burnout and refresh your mind. Talk to friends, family, or a teacher/mentor if you need support or have any concerns. Remember, confidence comes from preparation, so stay focused and positive, and you'll do your best on exam day.

Q:   I am in 2nd year of electrical engineering. How should I prepare for GATE?

A:
It is good that you have taken the initiative early. That shows your enthusiasm. Now that you have decided to take the test you must reflect the thought "Why exactly do I want to write GATE?" There are two perspectives to that question- 1. Decent score to get a good job 2. For further studies and if you are interested in research, it will be a good start. Since you are in your second year, try joining an institute for guidance and attend the classes. Prefer going to the crowded ones for a better GATE score and low understanding if you want an immediate job. (Or) Go to a private tutorial who have less number of students and give more specific interest in feeding in the basics or the base of fundamental engineering. Here you will learn how things work instead of mugging up formulae. Try searching for applications on your smart phone or laptop that keeps you updated about the exam. Believe me there are lot of such applications. Although still in second year I wont recommend you to waste time in interesting yet not so important topics in your curriculum Now these points that I mention will be of utmost importance. 1. Take down the syllabus of your specified course and stick to the syllabus. 2. Make sure you make one and only one notebook per subject, lets say its the fair notebook and you must keep it as a relic. Whatever you enter into this notebook should be very important points and no rough work or rubbish. Keep a rough note too to do those things. 3. Start watching videos from NPTEL. Its free and the best as far as I can go. 4. Once you start doing it enrol in a class and always attend it. Never miss a class. 5. Go slow take your time you have plenty of it.

Q:   Why is it important to prepare self-notes while doing GATE 2024 preparation?

A:
It is advised by experts that the GATE notes are essential during the preparation journey for the GATE exam and to clear it. Notes will consist of explanations of key concepts and theories with examples and practice problems. With the help of GATE notes, candidates can strengthen their understanding of the subject. Also, boost their chances of success in the exam. During the last days of the examination, students may revise from the notes, which will help them gain confidence and boost their preparation. Candidates can prepare their notes subject-wise. By revising the notes, candidates can achieve good marks. It is said by the expert that to crack the GATE exam, students should stay diligent and also follow the most effective exam strategy. Self-Study: Many students prefer self-study with online preparation rather than coaching centres. When doing a self-study, candidates must have a clear understanding of the GATE syllabus, GATE exam pattern and also how many questions they are required to attempt for the desired score.

Candidates can use some of the strategies such as what type of questions to attempt first, limit required for each question, etc. prove to be really helpful during the paper. Their strategies must be flexible as per the GATE question paper, as the exam can be full of surprises. Well, there is no sectional time limit so they must get an idea regarding which sequence of questions to be attempted first and how much time to devote to a particular section.

Attempt GATE mock tests every day to analyse your progress for desired results. Mark your strengths and weaknesses according to topics and work on them to avoid any panic situation in the exam. When a candidate is doing self-study then time management is one of the most crucial factors to be managed. As this will result in better speed and accuracy.
