JEE Main 2023 April session exam is being held in CBT mode, hence after the exam questions that are available, are based on the memory of the candidates. Therefore, there might be a possibility of questions being not exactly the same as those asked in the exam. However, the majority of the questions are reliable. Candidates can use the JEE Main 2023 April 10 Question Paper Answer Key Solution to get an estimate of their performance in the exam and have an idea of their scores. Q:   How many questions are asked in JEE Main exam?

A:

The JEE Main exam will have a total of 75 questions from all three subjects. The exam will have 25 questions each from Physics Chemistry and Mathematics. Out of 25 questions, 20 will be multiple choice questions and 5 will be questions with numerical value answers. Students need to answer all 5 numerical value type questions. Also all 20 multiple choices questions are compulsory and no choice is provided in them. Students need to complete all the 75 questions in 3 hours.

Q:   Do I need to attempt all the questions in JEE Main exam?

A:

Yes, it is compulsory to attempt all the question in exam. Students need to attempt a total of 75 questions in the exam. Students are advised to attempt only those questions for which they can arrive at the answer/solutions. Questions for which the answer is not sure should be left as incorrect answer would lead to negative marking. Students must note that there are no minimum marks in JEE Main that students need to score. Students gets All India Rank based on the marks they secure in exam and gets admission based on that rank.

Q:   What type of questions are asked in JEE Main?

A:

The JEE Main question paper will have questions from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as per the prescribed syllabus. Each Subject will have two sections. Section A will be of Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs) and Section B will contain Questions whose answers are to be filled in as a numerical value. In Section B, candidates have to attempt any 05 (five) questions out of 10. There will be negative marking for both Section A and Section B. For each question in Section B.A. Candidate has to enter the correct integer value of the answer using the mouse and the on-screen virtual numeric keypad in the place designated to enter the answer. For Section B, the answer should be rounded off to the nearest integer.

Q:   Upto which year should I solve previous year question papers for JEE?

A:

It is advised that students should solve at least previous 10 year question papers of JEE Main. However, the exam pattern as well as difficulty level of JEE Mains has underwent a lot of changes during the last 10 years but still solving previous year JEE Main question papers from last 10 years will definitely help in scoring the good marks in the exam. As new type of questions (Questions with Numerical Value Answer) were intrduced recently, students are advised to practice solving these type of questions to help solve it during the actual exam.

Q:   What are the numerical value questions in JEE Main exam?

A:

Numerical value questions in JEE Main are the questions for which the answer will be a numerical value. In every subject, there will be 5 numerical value type questions and students need to attempt all 5 questions. In total, students will need to answer only 75 questions. For numerical value type questions, the answer should be rounded off to the nearest integer.

Q:   What are the main subjects of JEE Main?

A:

JEE Main exam has three subjects- Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Question paper of JEE Main is prepared with questions from all the three subjects with equal weightage of 33%. A total of 90 questions are asked in the exam, 30 each from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The syllabus of JEE Mains for all three subjects is as per the CBSE/NCERT textbook of class 11 and 12. Candidates can check the syllabus from the official website of JEE Main or from the Shiksha page.

Q:   How can I best utilize previous year JEE Main question papers?

A:

JEE Main previous year question papers are the best source of learning in the path to cracking JEE Mains. It gives information about the difficulty level of the exam and Chapterwise weightage of topics covered in the exam. Previous year JEE Main question papers can be used as mock tests/sample papers to evaluate and analyze the one’s performance and preparation level. JEE Main previous year question papers also give information on the exam pattern, types of question asked and marking scheme.

 It is advised that students analyze the previous year question paper thoroughly once they start preparing for the JEE Mains. Students must regularly solve JEE Main previous year question papers during their preparation. In the last one month before exam. Students should solve at least last 10 years JEE Main papers to help boost their preparation level.

Q:   What is Chapterwise weightage of class 11 and 12 topics in JEE Main?

The high weightage topics from class 11 and 12 Physics as per previous year paper analysis are Current Electricity Waves AC, Magnetism, Laws of Motion Work, Power and Energy. In Chemistry the high weightage topics are s and p block elements, Coordination compounds, Thermodynamics Gaseous state, Chemical bonding, Atomic structure, Polymers, Environmental Chemistry Organic Chemistry. In Mathematics, the high weightage topics are Sequence and Series Vectors and 3D, Integral and Differential Calculus, Definite and Indefinite Integral.

JEE Main 2023 Cutoff

JEE Main 2023 cutoff means the minimum marks candidates need to obtain to sit for JEE Advanced. NAT release this cutoff after the final session of JEE Main 2023 is over. The cutoff marks vary category-wise. The cutoff marks will be the minimum percentile marks needed. This year the top 2,50,000 candidates in JEE Main 2023, will be able to register for JEE Advanced.

JEE Main 2023 Result

JEE Main 2023 result is announced a few days after the exam. Candidates can check the result online at jeemain.nta.nic.in. JEE Main scorecard will have the details of the candidate's normalised percentile score in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and the aggregate percentile score of all three subjects. Note that the All India Rank of the candidates will be based on the best performance of the candidates out of both the April and January sessions. Therefore the AIR will be available after the April sessions exams end with the final result.

To get computer related branch the last year cutoff rank was almost 1.3lakh. The cutoff vary differently every year so this is a rough idea. The cutoff depends upon the number of students appering, difficulty of question paper. You can't get most accurate numbers.
