JEE Main 2024 memory-based questions and answers are based on the recollections of the candidates who take the exams. Therefore there can be chances of some differences in the questions. However, the memory-based questions and answers will give the students of JEE Main 2024 upcoming shifts an idea of the exam level, the type of questions asked and also a chance for revision.

Q:   How many questions are asked in JEE Main exam?

A:

The JEE Main exam will have a total of 75 questions from all three subjects. The exam will have 25 questions each from Physics Chemistry and Mathematics. Out of 25 questions, 20 will be multiple choice questions and 5 will be questions with numerical value answers. Students need to answer all 5 numerical value type questions. Also all 20 multiple choices questions are compulsory and no choice is provided in them. Students need to complete all the 75 questions in 3 hours.

Q:   Do I need to attempt all the questions in JEE Main exam?

A:

Yes, it is compulsory to attempt all the question in exam. Students need to attempt a total of 75 questions in the exam. Students are advised to attempt only those questions for which they can arrive at the answer/solutions. Questions for which the answer is not sure should be left as incorrect answer would lead to negative marking. Students must note that there are no minimum marks in JEE Main that students need to score. Students gets All India Rank based on the marks they secure in exam and gets admission based on that rank.

Q:   What type of questions are asked in JEE Main?

A:

The JEE Main question paper will have questions from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as per the prescribed syllabus. Each Subject will have two sections. Section A will be of Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs) and Section B will contain Questions whose answers are to be filled in as a numerical value. In Section B, candidates have to attempt any 05 (five) questions out of 10. There will be negative marking for both Section A and Section B. For each question in Section B.A. Candidate has to enter the correct integer value of the answer using the mouse and the on-screen virtual numeric keypad in the place designated to enter the answer. For Section B, the answer should be rounded off to the nearest integer.

Note that JEE Main 2024 official answer key, question papers and response sheets will be available a few days after the exam is over on February 1. The official JEE Main answer key will be open to challenge and candidates will be able to check the JEE Main 2024 answer key on the official JEE Mains website, jeemain.nta.ac.in.

Q:   What are the numerical value questions in JEE Main exam?

A:

Numerical value questions in JEE Main are the questions for which the answer will be a numerical value. In every subject, there will be 5 numerical value type questions and students need to attempt all 5 questions. In total, students will need to answer only 75 questions. For numerical value type questions, the answer should be rounded off to the nearest integer.

Q:   What are the main subjects of JEE Main?

A:

JEE Main exam has three subjects- Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Question paper of JEE Main is prepared with questions from all the three subjects with equal weightage of 33%. A total of 90 questions are asked in the exam, 30 each from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The syllabus of JEE Mains for all three subjects is as per the CBSE/NCERT textbook of class 11 and 12. Candidates can check the syllabus from the official website of JEE Main or from the Shiksha page.

Q:   What is Chapterwise weightage of class 11 and 12 topics in JEE Main?

A:
The high weightage topics from class 11 and 12 Physics as per previous year paper analysis are Current Electricity Waves AC, Magnetism, Laws of Motion Work, Power and Energy. In Chemistry the high weightage topics are s and p block elements, Coordination compounds, Thermodynamics Gaseous state, Chemical bonding, Atomic structure, Polymers, Environmental Chemistry Organic Chemistry. In Mathematics, the high weightage topics are Sequence and Series Vectors and 3D, Integral and Differential Calculus, Definite and Indefinite Integral.

Q:   What is the language of JEE Main exam question paper?

A:

JEE Main exam is conducted in a total of 13 languages - English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi, Malayalam, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu. Candidates can select their preferred language in which they wish to appear in the exam at the time of filling the application form. During the exam, the question paper will be available in two language, English and the language selected at the time of filling the form. Candidates can switch between the two langauge during the exam from their computer screen. The language of question paper can not be changed after filling the application form.

JEE Main 2024 question paper PDF are available now for April 4, 5, 6, 8 and 9 exams. The JEE Main April Question Paper PDF has been released by coaching institutes on memory-based questions from students who appeared in the exam.   • The overall paper was moderate to easy.
  • Maths was lengthy, tricky and also difficult in this shift.
  • Physics was easy and formula-based.
  • Chemistry was NCERT based and easy. Students say it was board exam level. 
  • Most of the questions in Chemistry came from most questions were from organic chemistry. Physical chemistry was not lengthy. Questions came from metallurgy, ores, d block, bromination, biomolecule.
  • In Maths, many questions were asked from vector, 3D, integration, differential, limits, sequence and series, matrice, functions.
  • In Physics questions came from all topics equally. Semiconductors, Modern Physics, Atomic structure, galvanometer, thermodynamics, photoelectric effect were asked. Most questions were from 12th syllabus than the 11th syllabus.

How to Calculate Score Using JEE Main 2024 Memory Based Answer Key and Question Paper?

Candidates can check below the steps to use the JEE Main 2024 memory based answer key and question papers:

  • At first, candidates must open the memory based questions and answers for the shift and day in which they have appeared for JEE Mains exam.
  • Now, based on their memory, candidates can check the questions and answers.
  • If the candidates find that their answer is correct then they have to reward themselves 4 marks.
  • If the answer is incorrect then candidates have to deduct 1 marks.
  • Thus, candidates can get an idea of the JEE Main 2024 raw scores.

JEE Main 2024 Cutoff Marks

NTA will announce JEE Main 2024 cutoff along with the announcement of session 2 results. JEE Main cutoff is the minimum percentile score that candidates have to score to qualify for appearing in JEE Advanced. Considering past trends, any candidate who scores above the 88 percentile can have a fair chance of qualifying for JEE Advanced.
