JEE Main Exam Day Guidelines 2024- The National Testing Agency (NTA) is conducting the JEE Main 2024 session 2 exam on April 4, 5, 6, 8 and 9. The exam will be held in two shifts, from 9 AM to 12 PM (morning shift) and from 3 PM to 6 PM (evening shift) in various test centres across the country and abroad. 

JEE Main 2024 admit card session 2 was released on March 31. Candidates can download their JEE Main admit card online from the website jeemain.nta.nic.in using their application number and password/date of birth.

Q:   What is JEE Main 2025 exam date?

A:

NTA has announced the JEE Main 2025 exam date session 1 and 2. The session 1 exam will be conducted from January 22 to 31, 2025 while the session 2 will be held from April 1 to 8, 2025. NTA has started JEE Main 2025 session 1 registration. JEE Main Application form 2025 session 1 is available on the website jeemain.nta.nic.in. 

Q:   When will NTA release JEE Main exam city intimation slip 2025?

A:

NTA will release the JEE Mains exam city slip 2025 session 1 in January, around a week before the exam. JEE Main City Intimation Slip 2025 will be available for download on the JEE Main official website jeemain.nta.nic.in. To download the JEE Mains exam city intimation slip, candidates need to login on the website using their application number and date of birth. The exam city slip will have details of city in which the test centre of candidate is located and the date of exam.

Q:   Where can I check JEE Main 2025 exam date?

A:

NTA has released the JEE Main 2025 dates on the official website jeemain.nta.ac.in. The session 1 exam will be conducted from January 22 to 31, 2025 while the session 2 exam date is April 1 to 8, 2025. The JEE Main 2025 application form session 1 has been released and the last date to apply is November 22, 2024. Candidates are advised to keep checking this page regularly for all updates related to JEE Main 2025 exam dates and schedule of other events related to the exam.

Things To Remember On JEE Main 2024 Exam Day

  • Visit your JEE Main exam centre a day before the exam to familiarise yourself with the location and assess factors like time and distance.
  • Ensure you reach the test centre at least half an hour before the reporting time mentioned in your JEE Main 2024 Admit Card. Candidates, reporting after the gate closes, will not be allowed to enter the test venue. Candidates will be undergoing various mandatory processes, thus reaching on time is important.
  • Candidates must write their name and roll number at the top of the sheet and must return the sheets and admit card to the Invigilator, before leaving the exam hall.
  • Enter your required details in the attendance sheet in legible handwriting, put your signature, Left Hand Thumb Impression and paste the Photograph at the appropriate place. The Left-Hand Thumb Impression is clear and not smudged.
  • Attempt the paper with a relaxed mind. For this, you would need adequate rest and enough sleep before the final day of the exam to avoid strain and anxiety.
  • Have faith in yourself and before going off to sleep create your virtual picture of completing the exam. This practice helps reduce your stress levels and infuse confidence.   
  • Take a shower and go fresh to the examination centre.
  • It is extremely important to keep your body and mind in balance on the day of the exam. Therefore, taking a light breakfast on an empty stomach might also stimulate anxiety.
  • Just before appearing for the exam, you may go through your notes once. But, do not refer to any new question or topic. This is highly prohibited as it’ll increase your stress level which can harm your performance. But you can check out some of your flashcards or revision notes.

What To Carry To JEE Main 2024 Exam Centre

Remember to check all the necessary items before leaving for the examination centre including:

  • JEE Main admit card 2024 along with Self Declaration (Undertaking) downloaded from the NTA Website (a clear printout on A4 size paper) duly filled in.
  • A simple transparent Ball ballpoint pen.
  • Additional photograph, to be pasted on the attendance sheet
  • Personal hand sanitiser (50 ml)
  • Personal transparent water bottle
  • Special privilege: Diabetic students will be allowed to carry eatables like sugar tablets/fruits (like banana/apple/ orange) and transparent water bottles to the test centre. However, they will not be allowed to carry packed foods like chocolates/candy/sandwiches etc.

Important note: Candidates will not be allowed to enter their JEE Main 2024 exam centre without identity verification.

Q:   What is JEE Main 2025 exam date session 1?

A:

NTA has announced the JEE Main exam date 2025 session 1 and 2. The first session exam will be conducted from January 22 to 31, 2025 while the second session will be held from April 1 to 8, 2025. The JEE Main 2025 exam date for sessions 1 and 2 can be checked on the website jeemain.nta.nic.in.  

Q:   When will NTA release JEE Main exam city slip 2025?

A:

JEE Main city intimation slip 2025 will be available on the NTA official website jeemain.nta.ac.in a few days before the exam. JEE Mains City slip have details about the JEE Main exam city in which the candidate is allotted the centre to appear in the exam and the date of exam. It helps candidates to plan their travel to the JEE Main exam centre in advance. JEE Main city intimation slip is different from the admit card.

Q:   Are calculators allowed inside exam centre in JEE Main exam?

A:
Students are not allowed to carry calculators inside the exam centre in JEE Main exam. Students can use the virtual calculator available on the screen during the exam. Virtual calculators will be available on the computer screen of students during the JEE Main exam.

Q:   Will there be any break in JEE Main 2025 exam?

A:
The total duration of JEE Main exam is 3 hours and the exam is conducted continuous without any break. Candidates are allowed to enter the exam hall as per the scheduled time and can leave only after the completion of paper. The exam will have a total of 90 questions from 3 subjects, Physics Chemistry and Mathematics. Students have to answer 75 questions out of 90 in 3 hours without any break. Also, there is no separate time for subjects and students can appear any subject based on his/her choice.

Q:   Where can I find important study materials for JEE Mains preparation?

A:
Students can check details about JEE Main important chapter and topics from this page. While it is necessary that students pay special attention to chapters with high weightage, it is highly advised that they cover the full JEE Mains syllabus. The question paper of JEE Main is prepared by considering the entire JEE syllabus which consists of topics from Physics Chemistry and Mathematics from class 11 and 12. Important study material for JEE Main like books or short notes can be checked online. Students who are taking coaching can get the study materials from the coaching institutes.

What Not To Carry JEE Main 2024 Exam Centre

Stationary: Do not carry any stationery including pen, paper, pencil, textual material (printed or written material)pencil box, geometry box etc. Pen/ Pencil and blank paper sheets for rough work will be provided in the examination room.

ID Cards: ID cards issued by schools/ colleges/ universities/coaching centres will not be considered as valid ID. Even photocopies or images stored in mobile phones will not be accepted. Thus, do not carry any of these.

Eatables: Do not carry eatables (loose or packed) and water inside the exam hall. These will not be allowed.

Electronics/Gadgets: Any metallic item or electronic gadgets/ devices will not be allowed in the exam hall. This includes Mobile Phone, Ear Phone, Microphone, Pager, Calculator, DocuPen, Slide Rules, Log Tables, Camera, Tape Recorder etc.  Aspirants will also not be allowed to wear/carry any type of watch including Electronic Watches with facilities of calculator, any metallic item or electronic gadgets/ devices in the Examination Hall/Room.

Handbags: Candidates will not be allowed to carry any kind of handbag or purse.

Note: There may not be any provision for the safekeeping of valuables at JEE Main 2021 exam centre.

How to Mark Attendance in JEE Main 2024?

JEE Main aspirants will be required to enter the required details in an attendance sheet provided by the invigilator. They will have to put their signature and left-hand thumb impression on the attendance sheet. Candidates are also required to paste their coloured passport-sized photograph which should be the same as that in the application form. They should ensure that their left-hand thumb impression is clear and not smudged with any tattoo or henna (Mehendi).

Yes, candidates can appear for the JEE Mains exam without 75% marks in their qualifying exam. The 75% criteria is only applicable at the time of admission into NITs, IIITs and GFTIs and for appearing in JEE Advanced.

To get computer related branch the last year cutoff rank was almost 1.3lakh. The cutoff vary differently every year so this is a rough idea. The cutoff depends upon the number of students appering, difficulty of question paper. You can't get most accurate numbers.
