Dr MGR Engineering College was established in 1988 by Tmt Kannammal Educational Trust. The trust established many educational institutions in Chennai and Bangalore. Other than Dr MGR College, the trust also established Thai Moogambigai Dental College & Hospital, ACS Medical College & Hospital and College of Architecture. Dr MGR Educational and Research Institute
DR MGR Educational and Research Institute was established as Dr MGR Engineering College. The institute acquired the status of Deemed to be University in 2003. The engineering college is approved by the University Grants Commission and accredited with Grade ‘A’ by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Thai Moogambigai Dental College and Hospital
Thai Moogambigai Dental College and Hospital (TMDCH) was established in the year 1991, by Tmt Kannammal Educational Trust. The University Grants Commission (UGC) has given the Deemed to be University Status to Thai Moogambigai Dental College and Hospital from January 2003 in the name of Dr MGR Educational and Research Institute (Deemed to be University). The institute is recognised by the Ministry of Family Welfare and Health and The Dental Council of India. The institute offers the following courses to students:
