The Hindustan Group of Institutions (HGI) was founded in 1966 by Late Dr K C G Verghese. There are three technical institutions, one Arts & Science College, two Aviation Colleges and one college for professional courses under the group. Several colleges under the group have been accredited, ranked and awarded by different renowned authorities. All the colleges offer undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral level programmes in different engineering streams.

Hindustan Institute of Engineering & Technology
Hindustan Institute of Engineering & Technology (HIET) was established in Chennai in 1966 to impart non-formal technical education. HIET is run by the Hindustan Engineering Training Centre (HETC) Educational Society. The institute is approved by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Government of India, for conducting Aircraft Maintenance Engineering courses and by All India Council for Technical Education and the Government of Tamil Nadu for conducting Diploma courses in different streams.

Hindustan Institute of Technology & Science
Hindustan College of Engineering, started in the year 1985, was conferred the "University Status" by the University Grants Commission (UGC), Government of India, in the 2008-09 season and was renamed Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science (HITS). The HITS is one of the most sought after engineering Institutions in Tamil Nadu with students from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, Egypt, Ethiopia, France, Indonesia, Kenya, Korea, Liberia, Libya, Mauritius, Nigeria, Oman, Rwanda, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Sudan, U.A.E, Thailand, Vietnam, Tanzania, USA, etc.

KCG College of Technology
KCG College of Technology was founded in 1998. It is a Christian minority institution, affiliated to Anna University, Chennai, and approved by AICTE, New Delhi. The college offers twelve undergraduate and four postgraduate programmes. Six undergraduate programmes (Mech, ECE, CSE, IT, EEE & Aero) have Permanent Affiliation under Anna University. Five undergraduate programmes – Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE), Information Technology (IT) and Mechanical Engineering – are accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA).

The Hindustan College of Arts & Science (HCAS) was founded in the year 1995. It's a unit of Hindustan Group of Institutions, affiliated to the University of Madras and is accorded the Minority Status by National Commission for Minority Educational Institutions, Government of India.
