Q: Share the placement process in your college.
A: The placement in our college is extensive and always helpful for students to achieve their aspirations. There is a dedicated team that looks after the college placements and they work with companies around the globe to conduct campus recruitment drives for students from different engineering branches.
The students are also trained from the first semester onwards till the end of the course with both internal and external trainers to become placement ready through live sessions, workshops, mock interview drills, etc. If students make correct use of the training provided in the college then there are plenty of job opportunities after you leave college.
Q: Tell us something about the internship opportunities at your college.
A: Yes, our college provides the opportunity to pursue internships. Most of the companies are well known and come from relevant fields. These companies provide a vibrant environment and live training to students for gaining hands-on experience in the enterprise-level workflow. Our faculty is constantly searching for the companies for internship opportunities as well as placements for the students. Several students also seek internships off-campus at popular organizations.
Q: What is the eligibility criteria for sitting in placement drives.
A: Well, before you dive into profiles of top companies and their eligibility criteria for fresher’s recruitment, a quick reminder that all the reputed MNCs seek few basics skills in all the candidates sitting for placements:
- Should have excellent communication skills
- Should have basic knowledge of the technical field
- Should have good aptitude skills.
During a placement session, recruiters form different groups from all the applicants based on their percentages/ academic performance:
- Above 70%
- 60%-70%
- 50%-60%
- Students with backlogs in previous semesters
Salary varies from group to group. In our college, generally, cs/ec only get good placement package. Other students also usually get placed but the starting package is on the lower side.
Q: Share some post-placement details from your college.
A: The entire process of placement could last a few weeks or months. The process starts with student bodies reaching out to organizations for placement and ends with the final offer(s) of employment. Post-placement talks generally include employment offers, accepting/ denying the offer, discussion around employment terms and more. Meanwhile, companies and students try to assess each other throughout the process of achieving the best possible outcome.
Q: Share the total number of students in your batch and those who got offers at the end of the placement season. ·
A: The batch in total consisted of 100 students and all of them got placement offers at the end of the season. So, the placement record was 100% for our batch.
Q: Which were the top companies visiting the campus for placement?
A: Info view only for cs/ec with three-lakh package. Other than that the salary packages offered during the on-campus placements season were relatively low.
Q: What types of questions were asked during the interview and challenges faced during the interview?
A: The type of questions during placements varies from department to department and company to company. Generally, the questions are focused upon a student’s technical knowledge and aptitude. There were no major challenges during the placement rounds because of the training given to us earlier.
