Q:   How many maximum marks are required to clear CUSAT CAT exam?

A:

CUSAT CAT question paper comprises the questions of six hundred seventy five marks. The questions in CUSAT exam will be asked from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology. According to the CUSAT exam pattern, candidates will be awarded three marks for each correct answer while there will be a negative marking of one mark for each incorrect answer. Q:   What minimum marks do I need to score to get admission in CUSAT CAT colleges?

A:

For this, the candidates should have passed class 12th or equivalent examination from any state or national board in India with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry together and  as optional subjects securing a separate minimum of 50% marks in Mathematics. Candidates belonging to Kerala Scheduled Caste (KSC) and Kerala Scheduled Tribe (KST) communities are eligible for applying, if they have minimum pass marks in the qualifying examination.SEBC candidates of Kerala State belonging to non-creamy layer category are eligible for 5% relaxation in the minimum required marks for the qualifying examination.

Q:   Can an International candidate sit for the CUSAT CAT examination?

International students are exempted from the requirement of admission tests for the academic programmes of the University. They can apply either on a self-financing basis or through the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) attached to the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India. The ICCR offers a number of scholarships to enable international students to pursue higher studies in Universities and other recognized institutions of higher learning in India. CUSAT CAT result 2025 - Formula to calculate CUSAT CAT score

The CUSAT mentions the marking scheme on the CUSAT CAT 2025 prospectus, CUSAT Scores are calculated by following a formula, which is S = 3R – 1W. In this formula, stands for Score of CUSAT, R stands for Number of Right Answers, and W stands for Number of Wrong Answers.

Let us suppose, the number of right answers is 200 and the number of wrong answers is 20 then the score will be calculated as

S = 3R – 1W {Formula}

S = 3(200) – 1(20) {Put the values of R and W}

S = 600 – 20 {Multiply 3 & 180 and 1 & 20}

S = 580

So, the score will be 580 marks.

Q:   What is the formula to calculate the CUSAT CAT score?

A:

 The formula to calculate the CUSAT CAT score is S = 3R-1W.

S is the CAT score; R is the number of right answers and W is the number of wrong answers.

Let us understand with the help of an example:

Let us suppose, the number of right answers are 180 and the number of wrong answers are 20 then the score will be calculated as

S = 3R – 1W  {Formula}

S = 3 (180) – 1 (20)  {Put the values of R and W}

S = 540 – 20  {Multiply 3 & 180 and 1 & 20}

S = 520

So, the score will be 520 marks.
