JEE Advanced 2025 Analysis: The JEE Advanced exam analysis will be made available here once the exam is over. In the previous year, as per the experts and students, the JEE Advanced Paper 1 and Paper 2 were moderate. The paper was very doable and candidates could complete the paper on time. In both the papers, Maths was difficult, Physics was moderate and chemistry was the easiest. Both paper 1 and paper 2 had 180 marks each and each paper has 51 questions. Each paper had three sections - Maths, Physics and Chemistry and each section had 17 questions.

Paper-2:   Immediate reaction of students :

  • Students found the overall level of paper Moderately Tough. Tougher than Paper-1.
  • Some students have reported Physics and Chemistry were Moderate, but Maths was relatively Tough. 
  • Chemistry was a Tricky as per students. Equal weightages given to Organic, Inorganic & Physical Chemistry. Inorganic Chemistry had few questions of p-block, Chemical bonding, Coordination compounds which were directly from NCERT. In Physical Chemistry questions covered Electrochemistry, Ionic & Chemical Equilibrium, Electrochemistry & Surface Chemistry. In Organic Chemistry, questions mostly asked from Aldehyde & Ketones, Polymers, Biomolecules, Mixed concepts questions were asked. Qualitative Analysis was asked in Comprehension based type questions. This section was reported Moderate as per students.
  • Physics. Questions were asked from Chapters of Waves & Sound, Ray &Wave Optics, Fluids, EM Waves, Thermodynamics, Modern Physics had more weightage, Kinematics, Gravitation & Electrostatics. Overall, Physics was Moderately Tough as per students. Students felt this section was not balanced. Some questions had tricky & Lengthy calculations.
  • Mathematics was Toughest as per students. There were questions from Functions, Limits, Application of Derivatives, Definite Integrals, Area under Curve, Inverse Trigonometric functions, Vectors, 3D Geometry, Circle, Parabola, Quadratic Equations, Permutation & Combination and Probability. Students felt this section was the Toughest.
  • No mistakes reported till now as complete paper is yet to be analysed.
  • As the Test was Computer Based students had the option to Clear Response to change any option, they could mark it for Review, Save and next to proceed further.
  • Scribble Pads were given to students during the exam for rough work.

Paper-1:   Immediate reaction of students: Students found the overall level of paper Moderate to Difficult level but not easy. Students have reported Maths was Easy to Moderate, Chemistry was Moderate, but Physics was relatively difficult.

  • Chemistry was a not balanced as more weightages given to Organic Chemistry. Inorganic Chemistry had few questions which were directly from NCERT. In Physical Chemistry questions covered chapters of Chemical Kinetics, Chemical Equilibrium, Atomic Structure& Thermodynamics. In Organic Chemistry, questions mostly asked from Amines, Polymers, Biomolecules, Oxygen containing Compounds, some named reactions were also asked. Mixed concepts questions were asked. This section was reported Moderate as per students.
  • Physics. More weightage was given to chapters like Kinematics, Rotational Motion, Kinetic Theory of Gases, Modern Physics, Capacitors, Current Electricity, Optics, Electrostatics, Electromagnetic Induction. Overall Physics was reported Tough as compared to the other two subjects as per students. This was a Balanced Section as per students.
  • Mathematics was Easy to Moderate as per students. There were questions from Functions, Limits, Definite Integrals, Matrices, Statistics & Probability. Some good questions were asked from chapters of Permutation & Combination, Probability, Complex Numbers, 3-D Geometry, Circles and Ellipse.  Some questions were reported Lengthy.

No mistakes reported till now as the complete paper is yet to be analysed. As the test was Computer-based students had the option to Clear Response to change any option, they could mark it for Review, Save and next to proceed further. Scribble Pads were given to students during the exam for rough work.

Pattern

Section 1 -8 Que, Single digit integer  value based- +3, -1 - Maximum Marks- 24

Section 2 - 6 Que, More than one option correct, +4, partial negative marking. Maximum Marks- 24

Section 3-  4 Que Single option correct , +3, -1 Maximum Marks-12

Total maximum marks per subject 60 and overall paper 180

  • Physics: lengthy but Moderate, with balance of class 11th and 12th.
  • Chemistry: lengthy compared to paper 1 Moderate, with more weightage on organic and less on inorganic.
  • Maths: lengthy and Moderate, balanced between 11th and 12th.

Overall- Moderate but lengthy

Overall  JEE ADVANCED 2022 paper- paper was moderate with physics and maths being almost equally spreaded across complete Jee syllabus, with chemistry more biased for organic potion. Paper 2 was bit lengthy compared to paper 1

 Paper-2:  Immediate reaction of students: Students found the overall level of paper to be Moderate & Lengthy. Paper-2 was Lengthy & but overall Easier compared to Paper-1 held in the 1st Shift. Chemistry was Easy, Physics & Mathematics was Moderate to Tough Level & Lengthy. Chemistry (Easy). Balanced Section. In Physical Chemistry, there were questions from Electrochemistry, Mole Concept, Surface Chemistry, Thermodynamics & Chemical Kinetics. Organic Chemistry was well distributed with more mixed concept-based questions.  No direct questions in Inorganic Chemistry, there were questions from p-block specially reaction based.

Physics (Moderate & Lengthy) There were more concept based and covered all chapters.  Students reported this section to be Moderate. Questions were asked from Optics, Kinematics, Work Power & Energy, Rotational Motion, Thermodynamics mixed with Surface Tension, Current Electricity, Electrostatics, Magnetism. Mixed concepts questions took more time, so some students found this section lengthy.

Mathematics (Moderately & Lengthy) There were more questions from Calculus & Coordinate Geometry. Questions were mixed concept questions clubbing two chapters asked from Functions & Progressions, Application of Derivatives clubbed with Differential Equation, Circle clubbed with Trigonometry, Vectors clubbed with Matrices, and some direct questions from Hyperbola, Ellipse, Permutation & Combination, Probability, Definite Integration with Inverse of function. Questions had lengthy calculations.

No mistakes reported till now as complete paper is yet to be analysed.

JEE Advanced 2022 Analysis - Paper 1 (Available)

  • Scribble pad was given at the centres.
  • The paper was easier than last year.
  • Maths was the toughest and lengthy.
  • The total marks were 180.
  • There were no single correct questions.
  • There were MCQs, Matrix, and integer-type questions in the paper.
  • There were no negative markings in integer-type questions, Rest questions has negative markings.
  • Physics was moderate and chemistry was the easiest.

Some good questions were asked from chapters of Probability, Complex Numbers,3-D Geometry, Conic Sections. Students felt this section was the Toughest.

  • No mistakes reported till now as complete paper is yet to be analysed.

  • Total no. of questions in Paper-1 were 54 .

  • Total Marks of Paper-1 was 180 which is same as last year.

  • As the Test was Computer Based students had the option to Clear Response to change any option, they could mark it for Review, Save and next to proceed further.

Yes, you are eligible to appear for JEE Advanced and JEE Mains Entrance exam even if you have done 12th with PCB from CBSE boards and Maths from NIOS board. As CBSE and NIOS boards are considered as equivalent.

If you have to pursue B.Arch from IIT, than  you need to qualify JEE MAINS specifically Paper-2 B.Arch/B.Planning there is no need to qualify JEE Advanced for this . If you fail in JEE Advanced, you can still seek admission to other colleges based on your JEE Main score from the same year. Many engineering colleges, including NITs, IIITs, and private institutions, accept JEE Main scores for admission.

Yes, it is possible to join IIT Patna wihout JEE Advanced for courses other than BTech. For BTech programme JEE Advanced with JEE Mains is necessary. Candidates who passed Class 12 in 2024 or 2025 are eligible for JEE Advanced 2025. Since you have appeared for class 12 boards for the first time in 2023 you are not eligible for JEE Advanced 2025
