
JEE Advanced Counselling 2026: Counselling for JEE Advancd qualified candidates is organised by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). Registration for the counselling will start on June 2, 2026. The JoSAA 2026 dates including detatils about eligibility crieria, and process will be released in May at josaa.nic.in. All qualifed and eligible candidates have to register online at JoSAA website to participate in the counselling. The JEE Advanced counselling 2026 will be conducted in total six rounds.
The JoSAA counselling is organised jointly for NTA JEE and IIT JEE qualifed candidates wherein NTA JEE qualified candidates are allotted seats at NITs, IIITs and GFTIs and JEE Adv qualified students get admission in IITs.

JEE Advanced 2026 Counselling Eligibility Criteria
For JEE Advanced counselling, candidates should
- Be among the top 2.5 lakh students of JEE Main 2026 or have a percentile above the cutoff
- Pass Class 12 or equivalent examination with a minimum 75% marks
In addition to the above mentioned eligibility criteria, candidates also need to fulfill the eligility criteria of institutes mentioned in the JoSAA portal.

JEE Advanced Counselling and Seat Allotment 2026 Process
Counselling: Jun ' 26
JEE Advanced qualified candidates have to register for JEE Advanced counselling and seat allotment, which is conducted by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA).
- Registration: Students will need to use their JEE Main roll number and JEE Advanced password as credentials while logging in.
- Choice filling: After registration, candidates will have to select the college and courses of their choice. During choice filling, candidates will see the list of only those colleges and course which can be allotted to candidate based on their rank and category.
- Seat allotment and confirmation: Seats will be allotted to students as per their merit, preferred choices, category and availability. After the allotment of seats, candidates have to download their allotment letter and have to pay the seat acceptance fee.

JEE Advanced Counselling 2026 Seat allotment: Important Points
Students are required to keep the points mentioned below in mind regarding the seat allotment during JEE Advanced 2026 Counselling. Candidates will be allotted seats according to their ranks in the exam:
- Log in using the Registration No (User ID), JEE Advanced 2026 Roll No and Password to check seat allotment status.
- Students should check their status of Seat Allotment at the end of every round, as it may change due to upgradation
- The soft copy of the category (SC/ST/OBC-NCL) certificates uploaded at the time of online registration will be scrutinised against originals during seat allocation
- If the certificates uploaded are found to be inappropriate, the student will be treated as General only if their score in Paper-1 of JEE Main is above the cutoff score for the General category.

All candidates who are allotted seats in any round of JEE Advanced counselling will have to report to the documents verification centre for confirmation of admission. Candidates will need to carry the below mentioned documents while reporting for document verification at the designated centre. Candidates have to carry all these documents in orginal and xerox copies as well.

Candidates are provided here with the previous year's cutoff of JEE Advanced to get an idea of the marks they need to score for admission.
The aggregate marks will be calculated as the sum of the marks obtained in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Candidates have to satisfy the subject-wise as well as the aggregate qualifying marks to be included in a rank list.
