Q:   What is the minimum score or rank required in JEE Advanced to get into a good IIT?

A:

The definition of godd IIT can be relatable. The candidates who wish to get admisison to the first generation of the IITs like IIT Bombay, IIT Madras, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Kanpur, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, and IIT Roorkee must have a high score of 250+ marks out of 360 marks. However, this is not applicable for all courses offered by these IITs. Every course and IIT has different demand and seat ratio which effects the admission of the cabdidates. Hence it is very difficult to say what will be the minimum score or rank required in JEE Advanced to get into a good IIT.

Candidates must aim to score as high as possible in the exam to be get seat in the first generation of the IIts as these IITs see the most demand.

A:
The following procedures follows in preparation of JEE Advanced result. 1. Marks obtained by the candidates in Chemistry Physics and Mathematics in Paper 1 and Paper 2 are added individually. It signifies that the marks secured by the candidates in Physics in both Paper 1 and Paper 2 are added to determine the total marks of the subject. How is the JEE Advanced 2025 Result Prepared

JEE Advanced 2025 result is based on the marks secured by the candidates in the exam. The marks are calculated based on the JEE Advanced marking scheme.

Marks calculation subject-wise: The marks obtained by a candidate in Physics in JEE Advanced 2025 will equal the marks scored in the Physics part of Paper 1 plus the marks scored in the Physics part of Paper 2. The same will be true for Maths and Chemistry.

Aggregate marks calculation: The aggregate marks obtained by a candidate in JEE (Advanced) 2025 will be the sum of the marks awarded to the candidate in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Marks obtained in Chemistry and Mathematics will be calculated in the same way. The aggregate marks of paper 1 and paper 2 will be added together to get marks of the candidates out of 360.

Q:   I was not able to attend the paper 2 of JEE Advanced, will my result be announced?

Q:   Can I re-evaluate JEE Advanced result?

A:

No, there is no provision to re-evaluate/re-check JEE Advanced 2024 result. The exam conducting authority will not entertain any correspondence in this regard. Therefore candidates have to accept the scores of the exam as declared by the authority as the final ones. JEE Advanced 2024 AIR will be used for JoSAA counselling in the allotment of seats in the IITs. Candidates who have secured more than or equal to JEE Advanced cutoff I. e. the minimum marks in each subject and in aggregate as prescribed by the IITs will pass JEE Advanced 2024. The scores of JEE Advanced are carefully determined by the authorities. There are no chances of errors in it. For subject-wise scores, the exam conducting authority will consider the total marks obtained in a subject by a candidate in both papers. For example, marks secured by a candidate in the Physics section of both papers will be added to determine the total marks in the subject. The same procedure will be followed for Chemistry and Mathematics. The exam conducting authorities will then calculate the aggregate marks/scores of the candidates in JEE Advanced 2024 on the basis of the total marks secured by candidates in each subject.

It is a very relatable thing. A good score in JEE Advanced will depend on various factors one of them being the cutoff. Further, the cutoff will depend on various factors like the difficulty level, paper pattern, number of seats in the IITs, number of candidtaes taking the exam and so on. Therefore, it is difficult to say what will be a safe score. However, 300+ is a safe score in JEE Advanced if the total marks in the paper is 360.

JEE Advanced 2024 cutoff has been the highest in the past 6 year. This year the cutoff marks has been 109 marks for the Common rank list (CRL) out of 360 marks. For the GEN-EWS and OBC-NCL rank list the cutoff marks is 98; for SC/ST/Common-PwD/GEN-EWS-PwD/OBC-NCL-PwD/SC-PwD/ST-PwD is 54 marks and for Preparatory course rank lists it is 27 marks.

JEE Advanced 2025 Counselling - JoSAA

Qualifying in JEE (Advanced) 2025, filling in choices and/or participating in the joint seat allocation process does not guarantee a candidate admission to IITs. Admission will depend on merit and the availability of seats during various rounds of seat allocation, which will be done via the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) 2025.

The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) 2025 has been set up by the Ministry of Education [erstwhile Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD)] to manage and regulate the joint seat allocation for admissions to 114 institutes for the academic year 2025-23. This includes 23 IITs, 31 NITs, IIEST Shibpur, 26 IIITs and 33 Other-Government Funded Technical Institutes (Other-GFTIs). Admission to all the academic programs offered by these Institutes will be made through a single platform.

Q:   Which documents are needed at the time of counselling?

A:

You need your 10th & 12th marksheet, your domicile, cast, income certificate, allotment letter, transfer certificate, migration and character certificate.

Thumbs Up IconUpvote Thumbs Down Icon

Q:   When will JEE Advanced counselling take place?

A:

JEE Advanced counselling is called JoSAA. JoSAA 2025 will be conducted by Joint Seat Allocation Authority and the dates will be announced for the counselling after the JEE Advanced result. There will be 5 rounds of seat allotment. Candidates who are allotted seats in each round of JoSAA 2025 Counselling will be required to choose the options from Freeze, Float or Slide. Candidates who opt Freeze option will be required to complete reporting process between the prescribed deadline. The candidates who are not allotted seats during JoSAA 2025 seat allotment rounds still get a chance to get enrolled in NIT+ system through CSAB counselling 2025. Eligible candidates had to apply for the JoSAA counselling 2025 online on the official website at josaa. nic. in. During the counselling of JoSAA, two rounds of mock allotment are held to help candidates make correct choices for the real allotment rounds. The JoSAA 2025 seat allotment result is released in online mode after every round. Candidates are allotted seats according to their merit, preferences and availability of seats. The admission process for admissions in 23 IITs, 31 NITs, 25 IIITs, and 28 Other-Government Funded Technical Institutes (Other-GFTIs) is managed by The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). Over 50,000 undergraduate engineering seats (B.Tech/BE) will be open for eligible candidates.

Thumbs Up IconUpvote Thumbs Down Icon

Q:   Which exam offers better opportunities for admission to NITs, JEE Main or JEE Advanced?

A:
Firstly admissions to National Institute of Technology are given based on the performance in examination called JEE Mains. As a matter of fact there is no other examination which is required to be cleared by the student to get admission in these institutes. On the other hand JEE Advanced examination will lead students for admission in IIT's. Thus we can SEE that these two examinations are required for taking admission in two different Sets of Institutions. Also there is no other examination that can get a student admission in either of these to Sets of institutions. In view of foregoing, we can conclude that these are the only two examinations required to be given and no other examination has any score for enabling admission in these two Sets of institutions.

If you fail in JEE Advanced, you can still seek admission to other colleges based on your JEE Main score from the same year. Many engineering colleges, including NITs, IIITs, and private institutions, accept JEE Main scores for admission.
