Q: Â Can I re-evaluate JEE Advanced result?
No, there is no provision to re-evaluate/re-check JEE Advanced 2024 result. The exam conducting authority will not entertain any correspondence in this regard. Therefore candidates have to accept the scores of the exam as declared by the authority as the final ones. JEE Advanced 2024 AIR will be used for JoSAA counselling in the allotment of seats in the IITs. Candidates who have secured more than or equal to JEE Advanced cutoff I. e. the minimum marks in each subject and in aggregate as prescribed by the IITs will pass JEE Advanced 2024. The scores of JEE Advanced are carefully determined by the authorities. There are no chances of errors in it. For subject-wise scores, the exam conducting authority will consider the total marks obtained in a subject by a candidate in both papers. For example, marks secured by a candidate in the Physics section of both papers will be added to determine the total marks in the subject. The same procedure will be followed for Chemistry and Mathematics. The exam conducting authorities will then calculate the aggregate marks/scores of the candidates in JEE Advanced 2024 on the basis of the total marks secured by candidates in each subject.

- Candidates having higher positive marks will be awarded a higher rank.Â
- If a tie exists then a higher rank will be assigned to the candidate who has obtained higher marks in Mathematics.
- If this does not break the tie, a higher rank will be assigned to the candidate who has obtained higher marks in Physics.
- If there is a tie even after this, candidates will be assigned the same rank.
Q: Â What is a safe score for JEE Advanced to get an IIT?
It is a very relatable thing. A good score in JEE Advanced will depend on various factors one of them being the cutoff. Further, the cutoff will depend on various factors like the difficulty level, paper pattern, number of seats in the IITs, number of candidtaes taking the exam and so on. Therefore, it is difficult to say what will be a safe score. However, 300+ is a safe score in JEE Advanced if the total marks in the paper is 360.
JEE Advanced 2024 cutoff has been the highest in the past 6 year. This year the cutoff marks has been 109 marks for the Common rank list (CRL) out of 360 marks. For the GEN-EWS and OBC-NCL rank list the cutoff marks is 98; for SC/ST/Common-PwD/GEN-EWS-PwD/OBC-NCL-PwD/SC-PwD/ST-PwD is 54 marks and for Preparatory course rank lists it is 27 marks.
Q: Â What details will be mentioned in JEE Advanced result?
Candidates will be able to check these details on the JEE Advanced scorecard: JEE Advanced Registration Number, JEE Advanced Roll Number, Candidate's Name, Candidate's Date of Birth, Qualifying Status, All India Rank secured by a candidate in the exam, category-wise All India Rank (AIR) of the Candidate, Subject-wise scores in both Paper 1 & 2, Section-wise scores in both Paper 1 & 2 and Total Marks. You can download your Joint Entrance Examination-Advanced Result from the official website of the Joint Entrance Examination-Advanced. The official website is jeeadv. AC. In. Note that, there is no provision to re-evaluate/re-check JEE Advanced result. The exam conducting authority will not entertain any correspondence in this regard. Also, if any candidate is absent in the JEE Advanced examination their result will not be announced on the website.
Q: Â What is the JEE Advanced tie breaking policy?
If the JEE Advanced aggregate marks scored by two or more candidates are the same, then the following tie-break policy will be used for awarding ranks: Step 1: Candidates having higher positive marks will be awarded higher rank. If the tie breaking criterion at Step 1 fails to break the tie, then the following criterion at Step 2 will be followed. Step 2: Higher rank will be assigned to the candidate who has obtained higher marks in Mathematics. If this does not break the tie, higher rank will be assigned to the candidate who has obtained higher marks in Physics. If there is a tie even after this, candidates will be assigned the same rank.
JEE Advanced 2025 Cutoff Marks
A candidate is said to have qualified in JEE Advanced if he/she secures the minimum percentage of marks in each subject and aggregate, as per respective category. The JEE Advanced cutoff marks vary each year. A candidate who qualifies in more than one category will be considered in all the categories to which he/she belongs for ranking. Only those candidates who score the minimum prescribed percentage marks in each subject and also in aggregate will be included in the rank list. The JEE Advanced 2025 cutoff will be available as:
- Minimum Percentage of Marks in Each Subject and Minimum Percentage of Aggregate Marks
- Minimum marks in each subject and Minimum aggregate marks out of 360

JEE Advanced 2025 Counselling - JoSAA
Qualifying in JEE (Advanced) 2025, filling in choices and/or participating in the joint seat allocation process does not guarantee a candidate admission to IITs. Admission will depend on merit and the availability of seats during various rounds of seat allocation, which will be done via the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) 2025.
The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) 2025 has been set up by the Ministry of Education [erstwhile Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD)] to manage and regulate the joint seat allocation for admissions to 114 institutes for the academic year 2025-23. This includes 23 IITs, 31 NITs, IIEST Shibpur, 26 IIITs and 33 Other-Government Funded Technical Institutes (Other-GFTIs). Admission to all the academic programs offered by these Institutes will be made through a single platform.
Q: Â Which documents are needed at the time of counselling?
You need your 10th & 12th marksheet, your domicile, cast, income certificate, allotment letter, transfer certificate, migration and character certificate.
Q: Â When will JEE Advanced counselling take place?
JEE Advanced counselling is called JoSAA. JoSAA 2025 will be conducted by Joint Seat Allocation Authority and the dates will be announced for the counselling after the JEE Advanced result. There will be 5 rounds of seat allotment. Candidates who are allotted seats in each round of JoSAA 2025 Counselling will be required to choose the options from Freeze, Float or Slide. Candidates who opt Freeze option will be required to complete reporting process between the prescribed deadline. The candidates who are not allotted seats during JoSAA 2025 seat allotment rounds still get a chance to get enrolled in NIT+ system through CSAB counselling 2025. Eligible candidates had to apply for the JoSAA counselling 2025 online on the official website at josaa. nic. in. During the counselling of JoSAA, two rounds of mock allotment are held to help candidates make correct choices for the real allotment rounds. The JoSAA 2025 seat allotment result is released in online mode after every round. Candidates are allotted seats according to their merit, preferences and availability of seats. The admission process for admissions in 23 IITs, 31 NITs, 25 IIITs, and 28 Other-Government Funded Technical Institutes (Other-GFTIs) is managed by The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA).
