Reasons why I chose CS at IIT Delhi.
Placements: More than 95% of students in our branch get placed every year and the highest package is more than 2 crore, the average is 40 LPA, and the lowest offered is around 25 LPA (this is only for our branch of computer science and engineering). The top recruiters are Amazon, Google, Microsoft, and Flipkart. Around 70% of students get internships via referral. The top roles offered are consulting and marketing.
Infrastructure: Our infrastructure is world-class, with free high-speed Wi-Fi in every corner of the college. Classrooms are very well maintained and spacious, as are labs. All the basic facilities in the hostel are provided here, like a bed, a study table, 2 almirahs and a wide variety of mess menus. Medical facilities are excellent, with immediate ambulance service and 24/7 hospital facilities.
Faculty: Teachers, Professors and TAs are very kind-hearted and friendly in nature, and most of them are Ph.D. holders from other IITs. The course curriculum is excellent here; yes, it makes students industry-ready. Semester exams are neither very tough nor very easy. The passing percentage is about 90%.

Review of IIT Delhi - Indian Institute of Technology.
Placements: In 2019–20, there were around 1100 job offers. Now, it has increased by 4%. The average salary package is 16 LPA. The highest salary package of 1.3 CPA is offered by Microsoft. Several companies, like Google, Microsoft, Apple, Meta, Amazon, etc., visit here.
Infrastructure: All kinds of sports facilities are available to play football, basketball, cricket, hockey, etc. It has a very large swimming pool. It provides good Internet. There are different hostels. There are 2-seater and 3-seater rooms. 4th-year students get single-seater rooms. Hostels and bathrooms are very clean. Boys can go out 24X7 while girls can go out till 11 PM. The campus is beautiful.
Faculty: Teachers are very friendly. Most of them have postgraduate degrees. The course curriculum is relevant. It teaches all the basics. It makes students industry-ready. Semester exams are not that difficult. Almost all students pass.

In short, just prefer IIT Bombay, IIT Madras, and NIT Mumbai before considering this college.
Placements: Placements are overall good, but the problem is it is overhyped in videos that IIT placements are top-notch levels; they get 20 LPA minimum. Even many are unemployed. The main college buildings are shown as newly constructed in photos, but in real life, they seem like 30-year-old buildings.
Infrastructure: The boys' hostel is not good; the food is okay, but many times it's just average. Only the girls' hostel is like a five-star hostel. Again, the main college buildings appear newly constructed in photos, but they seem old in reality. You need to maintain a relationship with the faculty.
Faculty: Regarding faculty, the marks depend on their moods. What you can do is maintain a good relationship with the teachers. While placements are overall good, they are often overhyped in videos, suggesting minimum salaries of 20 LPA, but you can end up with as low as 2 LPA.
Other: Ragging is prevalent here, like in any other college. As for college batchmates, you'll mostly encounter individuals focused solely on their own work.

Our college is great in terms of education.
Placements: In our college, the placement scenario is highly competitive and provides students with ample opportunities to kick-start their careers. Our college's strong industry partnerships coupled with its reputation, ensure that for the students. Many reputed companies offer internships to IIT Delhi students.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college and hostel is very good. The campus is spread over 325 acres of land and houses several academic buildings, research centers, libraries, sports facilities, and hostels. The hostel facilities at IIT Delhi are excellent with separate hostels for boys and girls.
Faculty: Faculty members, the curriculum and exams are the essential components of any course, and IIT Delhi excels in all three. They are of the highest quality and provide students with a very good education and prepare them for successful careers in their chosen fields.
Other: Our college is known as the Indian Institute of Technology. It offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in various engineering and technology fields, including computer Science, mechanical, electrical, civil, etc. Our college is renowned for its research excellence and has collaborations with various universities and research institutions across the world. Our college does not conduct activities.

Really good academic infrastructure and faculty.
Placements: Overall, the average package was around INR 17.60 LPA. Top roles offered were technical, IT and consulting jobs. Top recruiters of IIT Delhi placements were Air India, Microsoft, Texas Instruments, Goldman Sachs, Bajaj Auto, and Ola Electric. IIT Delhi received around 1100 offers, including PPO's. Around 10% students got internship in Google, Microsoft, etc. The highest package was around 3.5 crore INR. Lowest was 9 LPA.
Infrastructure: The wifi is slightly above average. It will run quickly in terms of your basic needs. Labs are equipped with every single thing that students need. Classrooms are literally so big that they can fit 300 students at once and there are many classrooms in lecture halls. The library is in a very good state and has an AC and silent atmosphere so that you can study well. However, the hostel has below-average facilities and needs to improve. The mess is okay but sometimes it can get bad. There are facilities for sports at the Mittal centre. The hospital is open 24*7 and is free of charge from doctor fees to medicine if you are a student at IIT Delhi.
Faculty: Here, teachers are very helpful and are ready to solve your doubts. They are well above qualified. Teaching quality in lectures is by slides and most of the time you have to study by yourself. In the first year, the course is not curriculum relevant but from the second year onwards, it becomes useful for industry. Semester exams are not difficult if you study regularly but it can get difficult if you leave it to the last days of the exam.

Q:   Between IIT Bombay and IIT Delhi, which has better hostel facilities and amenities for BTech students?

A:
Based on ratings and reviews from current and former students, IIT Delhi is considered to have better hostel facilities and amenities compared to IIT Bombay. The hostels at IIT Delhi are known for their cleanliness, spacious rooms, and well-maintained common areas. The campus also has various sports facilities, gymnasiums, and recreation rooms, which are highly appreciated by the students. In comparison, while the hostels at IIT Bombay are also considered to be of good quality, they are often criticized for being too congested and having inadequate facilities. However, the campus does have a good range of amenities including a sports complex, swimming pool, and student activity center.

Q:   Is getting BTech admission at IIT Delhi tough?

A:

Yes, getting BTech admission at IIT Delhi is very tough. IIT Delhi is one of the most prestigious engineering universities in India, and it attracts lakhs of applicants each year. The admission process is highly competitive, and only a selected few students are admitted. To be eligible for BTech admission at IIT Delhi, students must have passed the JEE Advanced entrance exam with a high rank. In 2024, the closing rank for BTech admission at IIT Delhi ranged between 116 - 6102

In addition to having a high JEE Advanced rank, students must also meet certain academic requirements to be eligible for BTech admission at IIT Delhi. These requirements include:

  • Passing the Class 12 examination with a minimum of 75% marks in aggregate (65% for SC/ST/PwD candidates)
  • Passing the Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry subjects in the Class 12 examination

Even if students meet all of the eligibility requirements, they are not guaranteed admission to BTech programs at IIT Delhi. The admission process is highly competitive, and only the top students are admitted.

Only the CRL rank is taken into account for IITs. Because of their higher cut-offs, admittance to IITs is impossible for someone with a CRL rank of 4 lakh. IIT admissions are highly competitive, with just the CRL rank being taken into consideration. SC category ranks are not used for admission to II
