Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Patna

This premier institute was established in 2008 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. It is, no doubt, the best engineering college in Bihar. It bears with it the approval of UGC and AICTE. Equipped with excellent infrastructure, global curriculum and industry-suitable training, this institute imparts the best education in engineering and technology field. It offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes in various disciplines of engineering.

Entrance examination: To secure admission for the undergraduate courses in this institute, candidates need to appear for JEE Advanced held in May every year. For admission to the postgraduate programmes, students need to clear GATE.

Courses: IIT-Patna offers four years of undergraduate programmes in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemical Science and Technology, Mechanical Engineering, and Civil and Environmental Engineering. National Institute of Technology (NIT), Patna

Entrance examination: NIT admits students for B.Tech based on the marks obtained by the candidates in JEE Mains held in April. For admission to B.Arch course, it considers the scores of NATA. For M.Tech, it accepts the scores of GATE.

Courses: NIT offers four years full-time B.Tech in Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Information Technology. It also conducts two years M.Tech programme in various disciplines.

Fee Structure: The fee for the first year of B.Tech is Rs 1.65 lakh and that of M.Tech is Rs 1.09 lakh.
