AFCAT admit card is an important document without which candidates are not allowed to appear for the exam. AFCAT call letter comprises details related to the candidate's name, roll number, date of birth, exam date, shift timing, AFCAT exam centre, etc. Candidates need to carry the printed copy of their admit cards along with one photo-identity proof to the exam centre.

AFCAT exam is conducted online across various cities spread throughout the country in two shifts. According to AFCAT shift timings,the exam is conducted from 9.45 am to 11.45 am and 2.15 pm to 4.15 pm. Q:   What are the dos for AFCAT exam day?

A:
Candidates need to follow the guidelines laid down by the examination authority on the day of AFCAT exam. The examination authority prescribes the exam day guidelines in terms of reporting time, shift-wise exam timings, items allowed inside the exam centre, items not allowed inside the exam centre, COVID-19 related guidelines, etc. There are dos that candidates need to follow on the day of AFCAT exam day, check below for more details: Candidates are required to report to the exam centre in batches from 07:30 am onwards (for first Shift) and 12:30 pm onwards (for second Shift) as per the time slot mentioned in the admit card Candidates are required to put only the thumb impression on the admit card in advance, before proceeding to the exam centre. Q:   What is the dress code for AFCAT exam?

A:
AFCAT is one of the most sought-after defence exam in the country. The exam is conducted to select eligible candidates as gazetted officers in the Flying Branch and Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) branches. As it is the important defence exam in the country, therefore, the examination authority prescribes dress for candidates appearing in the exam. The guidelines related to dress code are given below: Candidates need to wear slippers/sandals with flat heels Closed footwear such as shoes is not allowed in the exam centre Clothes with large buttons are not permitted. Candidates wearing attire for religious purpose will be thoroughly frisked Candidates colour photograph will be taken during verification process. Candidates are not allowed to carry certain items inside the exam centre. Candidates must follow the instructions provided in the AFCAT admit card. Candidates not following the guidelines are debarred from appearing in the exam. Following are the don'ts for AFCAT exam day. Candidates are not allowed to carry Bluetooth device, communication/ electronic/ digital/ wireless devices such as calculators, docupen, electronic watches with facilities of calculator, cellular phone, memory card/ stick, pager, organizer, personal digital assistant (PDA), concealed microphone or camera, earphones, radio, headset, walkman, recorder, translator, etc. Pencil-box, book, geometry box, paper, log tables, clip board, slide rule, etc. Are also not allowed inside the exam centre Personal items such as wristwatch/wristband, bracelets, handbags, ornaments, wallet, purse, head gear, scarf, goggles, jacket, eatables items, etc. Are not allowed Clothes with large buttons are not permitted Closed footwear such as shoes is not allowed in the exam centre Candidates wearing attire for religious purpose will be thoroughly frisked.

Q:   What is AFCAT Exam Pattern?

A:
AFCAT exam pattern highlights the overall structure of the exam such as number of sections, weightage of topics, time duration, total marks, marking scheme, etc. AFCAT exam is divided into online test and AFSB interview. Besides AFCAT candidates who applies for the technical branch are required to appear for the Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT). AFCAT test comprises different sections such as General Awareness, Verbal Ability in English . Numerical Ability, Military Reasoning, and Aptitude test. EKT carries questions from Mechanical, Computer Science, and Electrical & Electronics. AFCAT carries a total of 100 questions whereas, EKT carries 50 questions. The total marks allotted to AFCAT are 300 whereas, EKT carries 150 marks. The duration of AFCAT exam is two hours whereas EKT is held for 45 minutes. Both AFCAT and EKT is held in online mode and the language of the question paper is English.

Q:   Can I change the exam centre after AFCAT admit card is released?

A:
No. You cannot change the exam centre after AFCAT admit card has been issued. You cannot take the exam at any other centre other than the one mentioned in AFCAT admit card. Candidates should carefully think before selecting AFCAT admit card in the AFCAT application form. Select only those test cities which are convenient to travel. Candidates should choose the home city as the first test city. Candidates should not choose the test city that is far off from their home. The allotment of exam city depends on the examination authority. The examination authority try to allot test city as per their preferences. However, in case of unavailability of exam centres in the test city chosen by candidates, they are allotted to the different test city. There are cases where examination authority cancels the exam centres in case the number of applicants are less.
