AFCAT Recruitment 2025: Indian Air Force (IAF) released AFCAT 1 recruitment notification 2025 on December 2, 2024. AFCAT 2 recruitment notification 2025 will be released in May 2025. AFCAT 2025 application form is made available online. AFCAT notification 2025 was released in PDF form to fill up vacancies for Flying Branch and Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) branch courses. The recruitment notification PDF comprises important details related to the exam such as dates, application process, eligibility, syllabus, etc. The total marks allotted to the test are 300. It is not that difficult to crack AFCAT if candidates follow the right strategy for preparation. Before beginning with the preparation, candidates must go through the AFCAT syllabus because it will help them to know the topics to be covered for the exam. After completing the syllabus, candidates must attempt the mock tests to analyse the level of their preparation. Q:   What are the types of Commissions offered through AFCAT exam?

A:
The types of Commissions offered through AFCAT exam are given below: Permanent Commission (PC) for Men. Candidates joining as PC officers would continue to serve till the age of superannuation in their respective branches as per their rank. Short Service Commission SSC for Men & Women: The engagement period for Flying Branch (Men and Women) SSC Officers is fourteen years from the date of Commissioning (Non extendable) The initial tenure for Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical) SSC Officers would be for a period of ten years. An extension of four years may be granted subject to service requirements, availability of vacancies, willingness, suitability and merit Grant of Permanent Commission (PC) would be considered subject to service requirements, availability of vacancies, willingness, suitability, merit and as per prevailing policies on the subject. SSC officers presently are not eligible for grant of pensionary benefits.

AFCAT Eligibility 2025

IAF prescribes AFCAT eligibility criteria in terms of age, educational qualification, and nationality. The eligibility criteria are different for different posts. The basic educational qualification is Graduation. For the Flying branch, candidates must be between 20 and 24 years. For Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical) branch of AFCAT exam, the age of candidates should be between 20 and 26 years.

How to fill AFCAT application form 2025?

AFCAT application form is released online on the official website. The application fee is INR 250 for all categories and can be paid online. While filling the AFCAT application form, candidates are required to enter the Aadhaar Card number. While, Aadhaar Card is optional for candidates belonging to Jammu and Kashmir, Assam, and Meghalaya. The application process comprises the following steps:

  • Visit the official website
  • Click on ‘Candidate Login’ to register
  • To register, candidates need to enter the required details
  • Candidates need to login with the registered email ID and password
  • Select the type of entry-AFCAT, NCC Special Entry for Flying Branch
  • Read the instructions carefully
  • Proceed towards filling the detailed application form by clicking the required checkbox
  • Enter personal information, educational qualification, course preference, communication details, etc.
  • Upload the scanned images of photograph, signature, Left Thumb Impression (LTI)
  • Sign the declaration
  • Select the exam city
  • Pay the application fees, which is INR 250 for all categories

AFCAT Exam Pattern 2025

AFCAT exam is conducted online. The test paper is divided into four sections-General Awareness, Verbal Ability in English, Numerical Ability, Military Reasoning, and Aptitude test. The total marks allotted to the test are 300. AFCAT question paper is made available in English only and carries 100 questions. The structure of AFCAT exam pattern is given below.

AFCAT Recruitment Vacancies 2025

 AFCAT vacancies are announced separately for different branches. Out of the total vacancies, 10 per cent seats out of CDSE vacancies are for PC and 10 per cent of seats out of AFCAT vacancies for SSC are reserved for the NCC Special Entry Flying branch. AFCAT Salary

During training at Air Force Academy (AFA), candidates are offered a stipend. The stipend offered to candidates during training is INR 56,100 per month (Starting at pay level 10). After completing the training, AFCAT salary is fixed at the pay matrix of Commissioned Officers in the first cell of Level 10.
