Q:   Is there any negative marking in AFCAT exam?

A:
Yes, there is a negative marking in AFCAT exam. For each wrong answer, one mark is deducted. For example, if a candidate attempts 20 questions from the Quant section and gets 18 questions correct but gets two questions incorrect. Then the candidate's score for this section will be calculated based on the formula 18x3-2, I. e. , 52. However, no marks are deducted for unanswered questions. Therefore, candidates must choose questions wisely basically the ones which they can answer correctly. Candidates should aim towards solving all the questions since there is a negative marking. They should solve questions that they are sure of. Candidates should also leave the questions that are time-taking. While answering questions, candidates should also take note of the time limit.

Q:   What is section-wise weightage in AFCAT exam?

A:
AFCAT exam comprises sections such as General Awareness, Verbal Ability in English Numerical Ability, Military Reasoning, and Aptitude test. Out of the 100 questions, Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test carries 35 questions, Verbal ability in English carries 30 questions, Numerical Ability carries 15 questions, General Awareness carries 20 questions. The Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test section carries a total of 105 marks, Verbal ability in English carries a total of 90 marks, Numerical ability section carries a total of 45 marks, General Awareness section carries a total of 60 marks. Q:   What are the subjects included in AFCAT exam?

AFCAT is an online exam with objective type questions, having multiple options. Questions are framed in English only and cover these four sections: Verbal Ability, General Awareness, Reasoning and Numerical Ability and Military Aptitude Test. The duration of the AFCAT test is two hours. A total of 100 questions are asked in the question paper carrying weightage of 300 marks. The EKT exam is conducted for Engineering Knowledge Test. EKT test is conducted only for candidates who opt for Ground duty technical branch. Candidates are given 45 minutes to solve 50 questions in the EKT test. The maximum marks allotted to the exam are 150. The EKT test carries questions from Mechanical, Computer Science and Electrical & Electronics.

AFCAT Exam Pattern 2024

The online test of AFCAT is divided into four sections: General Awareness, Verbal Ability in English, Numerical Ability and Reasoning, and Military Aptitude Test. The duration of the test is two hours. The question paper of AFCAT comprises a total of 100 questions. The maximum marks allotted to the test are 300.

The EKT exam, conducted for Ground Duty (Technical) branch, is held for 45 minutes. Questions are asked from Mechanical, Computer Science, and Electrical & Electronics. The test carries a total of 50 questions. The maximum marks allotted to the exam are 150. The structure of AFCAT exam pattern is given below.

Q:   What is AFCAT marking scheme?

A:
AFCAT marking scheme is prescribed by the examination authority. The marking scheme highlights the marks that candidates score for correct answers and marks deducted for wrong answers. The total marks allotted to AFCAT exam are 300. AFCAT marking scheme is given below: For correct answers, candidates score three marks. For example: Reasoning section carries 35 questions and candidates have answered 20 questions correctly. They will score 60 marks For every wrong answer, one mark will be deducted. For example: Candidates have attempted 18 questions, out of which, 15 questions are correct and three questions are incorrect. The score of candidates will be 15x3-3=42. The examination authority does not deduct marks for unattempted questions.
