Assam Police SI notification is released by the State Level Police Recruitment Board (SLPRB), Assam that conducts the exam for the recruitment of sub-inspectors for Assam police. The ongoing recruitment drive is aiming at filling 597 sub-inspector posts. The notification for the recruitment of Assam Police Sub-inspectors (UB) was released on April 11, 2018 and an addendum or notice was issued relating to the recruitment on November 6, 2020. The written test for the Assam Police SI recruitment of 597 posts of Sub-inspectors was cancelled.

Assam Police SI Recruitment Eligibility Criteria
Nationality: The candidate has to be an Indian citizen and must hold an Assamese domicile
Age: Age of the applicants must be between 20 years and 24 years. Candidates belonging to SC, ST(H) or ST(P) categories will enjoy age relaxation of 5 years.
Educational qualification: A bachelor’s degree from a registered College/Universities

Apart from the mentioned eligibility above candidates need to fulfill certain medical standards as well, such as -
- Applicants must not have a high colour vision or squint eyes
- Applicants must not have any physical deformities
- Candidates with certain diseases such as hernia, piles, diabetes, respiratory diseases etc. aren’t eligible to apply,
- Applicant's near vision should be normal and distant vision should be 6/6 for at least one eye and not poorer than 6/9 for the other without correction

Assam Police SI Recruitment Stages
The recruitment has several stages, such as –
- The written exam - The test will be of 100 marks, includes (i) Logical reasoning, aptitude, comprehension (ii) Matters relating to History and Culture of Assam and India and (iii) General Knowledge.
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET) - The test has a weightage of 40 marks, both male and female candidates need to pass this test.
- Computer Proficiency Test – In this test, 10 marks are allotted for a degree in computer education, while 20 marks are allotted filed practical test.
