INET Salary: Insurance Policy

Insurance

The Indian Navy provides its serving officers life insurance coverage at a minimal monthly premium. The Pilot/Observer/Submariner is given an insurance cover of INR 57 Lakh while other officers are given an insurance cover of INR 50 lakhs.

Leave

Indian Navy Officers are allowed to take 60 days annual leave and 20 days of casual leave. Officers can also save 30 days of leave in a year which they can encash at the time of retirement.

Officer retirement

All Permanent Commission Officers will receive financial support even after they retire, through a pension. In case of Officer’s death, his spouse will receive the pension.

A: The selection process of comprises INET, Shortlisting, SSB Interview and Medical.

A: INET exam is conducted to select Officers in various branches/entries of Indian Navy such as Executive, Educational and Technical. Selected candidates are granted Permanent Commission (PC) and Short Service Commission (SSC) and undergo training at the Indian Naval Academy (INA) Ezhimala, Kerala.

A: Officers of all branches/cadres except the officers of IT will undergo 22 Weeks Naval Orientation Course whereas officers of SSC (IT) will undergo four weeks Naval orientation course at the Naval Academy, Ezhimala. This will be followed by professional training in Naval Ships and Training Establishments as per extant regulations.

A: The merit list is prepared based on the marks obtained in INET exam and SSB interview.

A: Probation period for SSC (NAIC) Officers is three years and for officers of other branches/cadres is two years. The probation period commences from the date of grant of the rank of Sub Lt and terminate after three years in respect of SSC (NAIC) and two years for other branches/ cadres or on completion of initial training. During probation the officers are liable to be discharged in case of unsatisfactory performance at any stage.

A: The SSB procedure in INET exam comprises two stages. The Stage I comprises Intelligence Test, Picture Perception and Discussion test. The Stage II comprises Psychological testing, Group testing and interview.

A: The standard of INET syllabus is of graduation level.

Q: What is the exam pattern of INET exam?

A: INET exam pattern comprises four sections-English, Reasoning & Numerical Ability, General Knowledge, General Science & Mathematical Aptitude. The duration of the test is two hours and carries 100 multiple choice questions. The total marks allotted for the exam are 400. 

Q: Is there any qualifying cutoff marks in graduation to apply for INET exam?
