INET exam is conducted by the Indian Navy to select eligible men and women candidates for grant of Permanent Commission (PC) and Short Service Commission (SSC) in various branches of the organisation. INET exam centres are the cities where the entrance test will be conducted. Candidates are required to select the exam cities while filling the application form. The list of INET cities are released along with the notification. Usually the examination authority allots exam centres as per their choice. To apply for INET exam, candidates need to fulfill the prescribed eligibility criteria.

Candidates declared qualified in INET exam are required to appear in SSB interview. The SSB interview for the shortlisted candidates is conducted at Bangalore for pilot
& observer and Bangalore/Bhopal/Coimbatore/Visakhapatnam/Kolkata for other branches/entries. Shortlisted candidates will be informed about their selection for SSB interview on their e-mail or through SMS (provided by candidates in their application forms).

Few important points related to INET exam centres are given below:

All candidates, whose applications are received by the due date, will be called for the exam at one of the INET centres
INET exam centres will be allotted as per their choice subject to availability of slots at that centre
The details of exam centres will be mentioned in the INET admit card
Candidates are required to appear in the exam centre allotted to them
The examination authority will not accept any request for change of INET exam centre
Candidates are advised to select the exam centres carefully as it cannot be changed after final submission of INET application form
Without the admit card and photo-identity proof, candidates will not be allowed to appear in the exam
No electronic devices are allowed inside the exam centre
Candidates are not allowed to leave INET exam centre until the completion of test
Candidates need to obey the instructions given by the invigilator at INET exam centre
Candidates shortlisted for SSB are reimbursed with the travel expense which is equivalent to the fare of AC three tier

INET application form is released online on the official website. To fill the application form, candidates need to follow the steps below:

Visit the official website
Click the INET apply online link on the home page
Register by filling the required details
Upload the required documents
Pay the application fees which is INR 215
Submit the application form and take its printout

Structure of INET exam

The exam comprises the following stages:

Appearing in the entrance exam: INET exam is conducted for two hours duration. The test comprises 100 Multiple Choice Questions from English, Reasoning & Numerical Ability, General Science, Mathematical Aptitude & General Knowledge. Each section will be of 100 marks. On the basis of INET marks, candidates will be shortlisted for SSB Interview.

SSB Procedure: SSB interview is conducted in two stages. Candidates who will clear Stage I will be selected for Stage II.

Medical: Candidates recommended for SSB are required to undergo medical examination. For pilot entry, candidates are required to undergo Pilot Aptitude Battery Test (PABT) followed by Aviation medical exam.

Final selection: Merit list is prepared on the basis of combined marks of INET & SSB.
